Chapter 10: They don't want it in their territory!

"When both of them finish their training choose the top 50 of each promotion and create a special team called {Team Alpha}. That would be under me and would only listen to my orders"

When I said that I caught three types of look from the listeners, a look of admiration from the three recruited guards, a look of confusion from Isacc because he did not know what was going on, and a dejected look from Walter and my father because they wanted to take me off guard and was not able to do it. You ain't gonna do that boy!!!

l ----------------------------------

The City we currently live in is divided into five parts, the first one is the Inner section of the city which is the main district and where all the nobles live at. The Inner section has four districts circling it, each direction representing a district. We are in control of the West, North, and South district and plan to take over the East district which is being controlled by Reggie a noble from the Inner district before starting our main plans.

I have around 1200 CQC fighters and 500 mages, no, you can only be considered a true mage when you're a B_ranker, so we only have 2 mages, excluding Walter, and the rest are apprentices. If Isaac goes to the East with enough men he can conquer it in a day, so we're going to do it this week. Plus basing ourselves on what we noticed, the nobles in the Inner district don't care about the happenings of the Other districts which would make it easier for me to train my boys.

Though, they have tried to contact me and even asked for a meeting through Walter. Maybe it's because our territory is evolving too fast. I don't think that it would be a good idea to ignore them any longer, so let's just meet them while starting our plan. Maybe the city's ruler can be a great puppet I could use against the State to take it over so that I would not use force to do it!!! We never know.

One week passed since my father presented me to my three guards, we've been running all around the Inner district to strike deals with fallen shops and make them come and open in the West district. For example, we managed to bring over a kind-hearted old man who is a blacksmith. He makes weapons and armors for us, and since the training of the 150+ {Blades.} is over I wanted to bring them out and make them experience a little bit.

What kind of experience? You may ask, I plan to make them fight against the monsters settling inside the Aspen forest, which is as big as the Congo Bassin forest by the way. The more you go in the bigger and denser the trees become and the less place you will have to move as a group. I had read about it in a geography book, it also says that the Aspen forest is an unoccupied land filled with monsters.

You remember that Gabriel dude, yesterday he came back to the city and to report that he has already finished the job assigned to him. Looks like he is more efficient than I thought, He managed to gather around fifty people who were all D-rankers and lower and raided the weaker bandit and monster settlements.

After hearing his report I sent them to the gymnasium and told my dad to take special care of them, especially Gabriel, he seems like a good leader I may be able to use him later on.

Although right now they are all weak, Gabriel, in particular, has a lot of talent, (based on my father's words). If he can become a B-rank before the end of the year, it would be fantastic since he's going to be essential in my future plans.

Right now, I'm heading to the gymnasium with my father, we need to choose the people who will be taking care of the strong bandit and monster gatherings with us. The Forest is full of settlements, be it bandits or monsters and the deeper you go in, the stronger and more intelligent the monsters become, and I'm not talking about the bandits who are managing to survive there. Fighting those monsters would be a good experience for our trusted men.

The reason I chose monsters as training partners is because of their strength. It is said that you need at least five people to be able to beat a monster of the same rank. Like, you would need five C_rankers to beat one C_rank monster and that's what I want to eliminate. I want my men to be able to easily win against a monster of the same rank. It will be hard to do, I know! But it's not impossible.

To achieve that I've thought of a simple plan. At first, we can form groups of five and start to hunt the monsters, after that we can start to gradually diminish the number of people in a group until one person wins against a group of monsters of the same rank easily.

Personally, I can take on three Orc generals at the same time and still win. That's three B-rank monsters, and do you want to know how I was able to do that? When I was 10 years old, my dad brought in the depth of the forest to train. You see, he would throw me in front of monsters of my rank and go hide until I defeat it or until I was about to die.

That also fuelled my hatred for monsters, no I wouldn't call hatred, it's more like I would not have any mercy for it even if it looks cute because I know that it can kill if you leave any opening. That's what I want to do with the other guys, I would not go deep in the forest though. Making them form groups would be a must for their first weeks.

Forming groups of five people is a good idea since it would be easier to move around in a group and when a fight break it would not have that much chaos compared to a larger group. It's like when I was taking over the North and South district, I only used a small number of people and spread chaos under their ranks.

Back then, I let my father take the West district for me since I was too weak to do so and I had the chance to have a monster among humans next to me, why wouldn't I use him. It's like having a skill that can increase your rank by two, plus it is a skill that doesn't use that much mana, which I have never seen by the way, and you say that you were not going to use it.

That's just being dumb! I'm not saying that my father is a tool, though!!! It's just that he is so obsessed with individual strength that it's scary. He always says that "Only the weak gather together to fight" and I'm one to agree with him, I'm gathering people to make them subordinates not 'friends'. I'm not too keen on having too many friends since I was already killed by one of them, though Walter and Isaac are more like brothers than friends. They're not the monster's sons though!!

*Whaam*

"Yo, what was that for?" I asked as my father just hit me in the head, he frowned and asked

"Were you thinking something bad about me?"

"No!!! Why did you think that?" I said looking at him, he just did not want to bother himself more with that so he just 'hmphed' and went to the gymnasium.

I followed him but made sure to stay a distance away to be able to dodge any punch coming my way if he ever wants to beat me, not that I could avoid anyway.

Talking about being prepared, it seems that I also want to create some sort of adventurer guild since it does not exist in this world, yet. The emperors in this world do not want any kind of guild in their territories, reason: they don't want a threat right under their nose.

That's understandable! Who would want a huge fighting force that is not under your jurisdiction? I know I wouldn't. At least you can try to bring their power down a bit by imposing them some rules to follow, but whenever they get tired of you they can just destroy your kingdom internally.

That's why, for now! I want to create a mercenary group, taking jobs all over the world, building my influence and power up the scale to challenge the empire in the end. Though, if I manage to get the city's ruler as one of my pawns it would not take that long to take over.

I would just need to take the state and separate it from the rest of the empire. After that, I will search for a few strong and loyal people to defend myself against the empire's attacks. But, this plan is unlikely since I've never met the City's ruler yet.
