Marine Headquarters, Marineford
In the Grand Line, the Marine Headquarters just received a message from Loguetown on East Blue. The message contains the defeat of Captain Smoker against the Captain of the Cerberus Pirates. It is also said that Smoker was poisoned and will need several weeks before the poison inside his body disappeared.
Fortunately, Smoker was given treatment immediately or else he would lose his life because of the poison.
Bam!
Inside the Fleet Admiral Office, a man slams his palm in the desk clearly angry about what happened in the East Blue.
"Why did Smoker lose to a rookie pirate?! He is one of the promising marines in this time, how could he lose to a pirate in the weakest sea?" as the highest-ranking member of the marines, Fleet Admiral Sengoku was angry about Smoker's defeat.
"Ha ha ha ha!" inside the room, hearty laughter sounded. It came from an old man, but this old man is not ordinary. He was considered as the Marine Hero, it was Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp. "Sengoku, don't blame Smoker for this. He also didn't expect that this Cer of the Cerberus Pirates can use poison. Who would have thought that a single devil fruit contains different abilities"
Listening to Garp, Sengoku sigh and calm down. He looks at Garp and asked, "Then what should we do about this Cerberus Pirates? Do you have anything on your mind?"
A smile appeared in Garp's face and said, "Why don't you send someone from the headquarters to catch that pirate. I'm sure their next destination is the Grand Line. At that time you can send a Vice Admiral to catch him"
Sengoku ponder for a moment before saying, "Why should I send a Vice Admiral just to catch them?
Harp's expression turned serious and said, "Captain Smoker, although his rank is still a captain his strength is not weaker compared to a Rear Admiral. It would be much more safe to send a Vice Admiral this time to deal with them. At least, the chances of succeeding are much higher"
Sengoku thought that what Garp said is reasonable. They just need to stop this pirate from advancing. And sending a Vice Admiral, they will definitely have a higher chance.
"But who should I send this time?"

After piling up their supplies, Cer finally decided to leave the Lougetown and head straight towards the Grand Line.
"Do you really know what you're gonna do?" Cer asked suspiciously towards Sid who was holding the wheel of the ship.
Earlier before they left the Lougetown, Sid told him that he knew how to get into the Reverse Mountain and enter the Grand Line. Although Sid was acting as the navigator this whole journey. There are times where he made mistakes that destroy part of the ship.
But this time is very different than before. If not properly handled, the ship could be destroyed by the strong currents or crashed into the mountain wall. If that ever their journey will suddenly come to an end.
"Captain, although I look like this. You could at least trust the abilities of your crew. Don't worry nothing bad will happen to us"
"It is precisely because you said it with that expression that I didn't want to believe you in the first place. That expression on your face is the look of someone who wouldn't do anything good" Cer rebuke seeing Sid's expression.
"He he he" hearing his captain's words, Sid let out a silly laugh which only irritates Cer even further.
"He he he, your ass!"
Several jours have passed by and they finally arrived at the bottom of the Reverse Mountain.
Looking at the water incredibly flowing upwards, Cer was amazed by it. "Didn't expect that I would see this thing with my own two eyes"
His expression then turned serious when he saw the strong current going up. His eyes look at Sid as if saying you better do your best this time.
Noticing the glaring eyes of his captain, Sid smile even wider and shouted, "Then captain, be ready to climb up"
After that, the ship finally enters the strong current and climbs fast the mountain. Followed by a loud scream which echoed in the area.
Days later
A lone pirate ship was floating aimlessly in the open sea. There were several destroyed parts at the side of the pirate ship. This was a sign of how hard the ship endured in this couple of days.
"F*ck! This ship is already broken. We need to repair it or else we won't have any ship to use in the future" a frustrated voice sounded from the ship and a young man appeared with a miserable appearance.
"See, didn't we made it alive and successfully enter the Grand Line" another voice sounded and another young man appeared with the same miserable appearance.
These two were Cer and Sid who successfully enter the Grand Line days earlier. But their ship was almost destroyed by Sid who crazily navigates in the Reverse Mountain. Sid already lost count on how many curses rain on him at that time.
"We definitely made it up here, but we will eventually die because we will drown when this ship sinks" water was already coming inside the ship and Cer calculated that in just an hour. The whole ship will fall underwater.
"Captain I don't think we will drown this time, look over there"
Cer looks at the direction where Sid was pointing. There he saw a huge shadow slowly approaching towards their broken ship. He then noticed a sign on the ship and his expression turned gloomy.
Marines
And by the size of this Marine Battleship, whoever was inside is definitely a high ranking one.
"Cerberus Pirates! I could see that you are quite unlucky this time. Your ship is destroyed and now you don't have any way of getting away this time. Surrender yourself peacefully and you may live, if not, your bodies will become food to the monsters underwater" a shout came from the Marine Battleship and the cannons at the front were pointed at them.
"Captain what should we do?"
"What do you think we should do? Let them save us" a sneer spread through Cer's lips and he shouted, "We surrender! Take us now!"
