His next bout is June 18 against the IBF Mini Flyweight champion, Nkosinathi Joyi of South Africa and the venue is in East London, South Africa. The same like the previous one, it didn't go beyond the first round and ended via KO. Nathan next fought Kazuto Ioka in Kobe, Japan on August to unify the belts with Ioka's WBC and WBA belts.
It was a 3 fights winning streak, after he Nathan landed combinations on Ioka's stomach and ended the fight via KO. He vacated the Minimumweight title to move up to light flyweight and fought in Bangkok, Thailand against Kompayak Porpramook for the WBC light flyweight title on October 24, 2011. Nathan won another KO in the bout with a powerful left hook and defended it once before moving up to flyweight.
He faced the flyweight champion Moruti Mthalane on December 2011 and won via KO on the first round of the fight.
