At the Scarpetta restaurant in the Montage Hotel, Nathan along with his members, Mayweather's camp and CBS Network President Leslie Moonves began a long meeting. It ended 4 am successfully, both parties agreed on Mayweather's proposed May 23 fight with Nathan.
A week after the meeting, they signed the contract and officially started the training camp. On March 5, Mayweather and Nathan met each other during a NBA game between the Heat and Lakers in Los Angeles. Mayweather said (We exchanged phone numbers and would communicate with each other more in the future.)
On March 9, TMZ reported that the fight had been agreed upon by both sides and a formal announcement would be made in the "next couple of days." However, members from both sides refuted the said report, saying that the deal hasn't finalized yet and negotiations on the pay-per-view (Showtime or other networks) telecast of the fight were the last issue before the deal is finalized.
On March 20, Mayweather's camp announced the fight is official and the contract had been signed for the fight to take place on May 23, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The fight was expected to shatter PPV buy records and would gross millions of dollars with the ticket prices ranging from $3,500 to $250,000 and the PPV was expected to cost US$89.95 for SD and US$99.95 for HD.
Several boxing experts predicted the match would be the richest fight in boxing history and would generate at least $1 billion in revenue. As per the contract, the first $100 million of revenue and the revenue above $180 million, from the fight will be split to 70/30 between the fighters, with winner receiving the larger 70% share.
Both fighters were expected to earn at least $100 million in revenue for their participation. The event is promoted by Mayweather Promotions, the contract named Mayweather Promotions as the main promoter of the fight. Both of them agreed to undergo drug testing by via United States Anti-Doping Agency, plus blood and urine testing before the fight.
Kenny Bayless will serve as the referee and was chosen by the Nevada Athletic Commission. Bayless have officiated five of Mayweather's previous fights while four of Nathan's bouts, and will earn $500,000 for officiating the fight. Along with Burt Clements, Dave Moretti, and Glenn Feldman served as judges for the fight. The U.S. national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner", is performed by Jamie Foxx while the Philippines national anthem, "Lupang Hinirang", is performed by Filipina singer Sarah Geronimo and joined by Loboc children's choir.
A large number of celebrities were in attendance; singer Justin Bieber was among Mayweather's entourage, while Pacquiao was joined by comedian Jimmy Kimmel—who had discussed the possibility of entering with him when Nathan appeared on his talk show. Kimmel wore an outfit parodying Bieber's wardrobe from a previous pre-fight press conference, and photobombed a pre-fight photo taken by Pacquiao.
Other figures in attendance included Andre Agassi, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Charles Barkley, Mike Tyson, Clint Eastwood, Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Michael J. Fox, Donald Trump, Jake Gyllenhaal, Amir Khan, Drew Barrymore, Jesse Jackson, Russell Westbrook, Mark Wahlberg, Lewis Hamilton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Don Cheadle, Michael Jordan, Steffi Graf, Sugar Ray Leonard, Paris Hilton, Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, Ben Affleck, The Jonas Brothers, Michael Keaton, Tom Brady, Magic Johnson, Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Evander Holyfield, Mariah Carey, Sting, 50 Cent and others.

In the opening round, both boxers were aggressive, Mayweather was unusually so active and Nathan also attempted to score points from his jabs. However, Mayweather escaped the attack and landed a counter straight on Nathan's gloves. He repeatedly forced Mayweather toward the ropes, but Mayweather was able to escape or wrap Nathan up each time. Nathan's jabs mostly are his main weapon, he also landed a solid left hook to the body and Mayweather decided to increase his aggression in later rounds.
In the fight, Mayweather hit Nathan below the belt but he didn't mind the hit, even though it was illegal blow. Both fighters have exchanged big shots in the opening round which energized the crowd. In the middle of the round, Nathan scored another big left hook, causing Mayweather to put his high guard up and back against the ropes. Nathan landed two more solid right hands to the temple which caused Mayweather's knees to buckle and tried to clinch with him. So he followed it up with a left upper cut to the chin and (Boom!!!) Mayweather went down the canvass.

Having recovered from Nathan's offense in the previous exchanged, Mayweather run around the ring and was chased by him. Nathan remained on the offensive, and able to land his jabs. Mayweather upped his activity to won the round in the eyes of the three judges. Nathan came back aggressively, forcing Mayweather to the ropes. Nathan successfully landed a couple of combinations, and Mayweather appeared to be groggy.
He threw another combination, then a right-handed punch, before Mayweather counterattacked with an unsuccessful combo. Nathan stayed aggressive in the last minute of the 1st round, landing his jabs that kept Mayweather off balance. Nathan went on the attack mode, opening up Mayweather's defense and landing several big punches.
(Boom!!!) Mayweather went down for the second time in the round and his career. The referee didn't count; he waved his hands and signaled the fight is over. Like Pacman, Mayweather went faced down while Nathan sat and used (High Heal) beside him until Mayweather goes up.
