As the days turned into weeks, it became clear to the fire wolf that they were on there own and that his mother wasn't coming back for him. It also became clear that nobody was out looking for the new born. The fire wolf had went over and would lay down watching the waterfall and the animals and people that would sometimes go by oblivious to the fact that him and the child were there. The wolf had tried to get there attention after being there for a month but nobody could hear his barks and howls over the sound of the water and nobody not even the animals seemed to be able to see them through the fast moving water either. More of the berries and different kinds of plants had grown inside the cave in the month they had been there so neither of them truly had a real reason to leave. The cons and plants in the cave seemed to always take care of the child anytime it needed anything and they had food and water. The wolf started thinking more and more as it didn't know much about the outside world as this wasn't where he was from and he was safe where he was. He had seen people killing animals and what looked like small weird looking wolves tamed and on leashes. The young wolf was happy to be with child. The child was calm now more of the time and it's mood swing didn't bother the wolf as it started to understand what each feeling meant that the child wanted. The wolf also still had hope that it's mother was searching for him and would find him and be able to bring him home and everything would go back to normal. The wolf often tried to make itself thinking maybe this was dream and would try and wake itself up but it never worked. The wolf always seemed to wish it was having a really long bad dream and it would soon wake up from it and be laying curled up next to its sisters and brothers and mother, but it hadn't seemed to happen yet. He also would often look out at the sunset as he would think about his family and wonder if they missed him as much as he missed them and if they were still looking for him or even remembered he existed. Time seemed to move fast to the wolf even though the during the days he didn't do much he felt that they were fast. He started a ritual where he went to the opening when it meant the waterfall and would howl ever night at sunset and think of his family and then wait and howl again once the sun was down as that meant the moon was out. He remembered seeing his mother do this outside of the den along with other wolves in the pack, she had always told them its that way your father knows where we are at and can find us. And they had asked how will he hear it if he's so far away that he has to find us and his mother told them that you can always hear your packs howl no matter where you are and it will light the stars and guide you back. He always howled in the hope it would help guide his mother back to him or maybe it would allow his father to find him. After that he howled the second time he would sit or lay at the entrance blocked by the waterfall for a few minutes and then go lay down with the child. The young wolf still believe what his mother said as he heard faint howls at night, but he didn't know that these howls were from other dogs and wolves that were in the forest with them. The waterfall protected the two of them from all the other creatures and people that's ere in the forest as you would need to have powers to get into the cave. The women who gave birth to the child had powers and parted the water to climb to the entrance of the cave and to give birth as she knew that meant her child would be protected from animals and other people who might harm it, but that also trapped them there. Yet the wolf held on hope as the time continued to pass month by month hoping that they would be found.
