Chapter 4: Getting Ready

Liam didn't waste his time. He went to the kitchen made himself a food because his parents were at work and his elder sister was also at work while his younger brother was at his college dorm. It was almost Christmas vacation. The house would be livelier again with the office where his parents work would also have a vacation, his younger brother that was on his very 1st year of college and his elder sister who would always take a leave on work when it was nearing Christmas.

Cynthia, his sister, was one of those women who was successful in career yet failure in love. Yes, his sister was such a beauty that only crazy people would flock around her and Liam, who looked different, served as his 'boyfriend'. Every time it worked, so Liam didn't have any reason to refuse.

While his brother has his own girlfriend and they were almost a year dating. They started before graduation and who knows how long it would take for them to break up because as far as Liam could tell, the girl wasn't in too deep like his brother was. Well, he was always there for him no matter what, like when he was down.

Liam's parent was an office worker, like any other day, they were late. The work of his parents paid a lot but with Liam's operation it wasn't enough so they have to be in debt for a while. Its almost 4 years since his accident and with the recurrence of pain from his right leg he have to stop with his college because he didn't want to cause another problem for his parents. He also promised to take care of himself and if the pain wouldn't subside after a year then he wouldn't stop them for letting him undergo a full body checkup and any follow ups.

The main reason that the pain reoccurred was because he still playing basketball most of his free time. The fracture healed but he couldn't play anymore like he used to or apply too much work with his right leg.

Liam wasn't aware that there was something big going on in the website and forums. The planning team released a 5 minutes trailer for the very first arc of the game, Advent of Heroes: The Rise of Divine Angels. With the release of the trailer and title, a lot of players who read it spread it from their friends through logging inside the game. The news spread out like a wild fire in a forest. This made a major hit that garnered a lot of reviews. They also released that 7 different Main Quest would be released under the first arc in which two was Hidden and all of them were Link quest like any other main quests.

The game will undergo another maintenance because of the complaints of some new user which were all deluxe user. They shared their experience about the Bloodline and they wanted to know first their bloodline before inputting their alias or title and name. They also wanted to let their 'memory of their battle' or scar to remain depending on their choices which garnered a lot of attention especially with male players and some female players.

The planning team thus went on for a short meeting and totally let the monitoring team watch and report Liam's progress. They went on a meeting and decided to have an hour update tomorrow.

Liam, who was busy thinking, didn't know how his action made the forum and planning team busy. He was still thinking about what to do on his quest especially if he should fight the boss when he was 8 or 9.

Liam finished his food and logged in. After Liam logged in, his sister just got home. She first checked Liam because she knew how excited her brother was. It was the first time in a long time she saw him happy. They couldn't blame him for being withdrawn especially with his dreams being crushed in front of him. She knocked on the door and Liam didn't answer. When she opened the door, she saw his bed and a machine that was emitting a blue light. 'This might be the capsule that he was talking about' she thought and approached it.

She saw Liam through the transparent glass lying inside and his eyes close. It looked like he was sleeping but sometimes Cynthia could see some creases on eyebrows or a smile hanging from his lips. Cynthia smiled watching his younger brother because she could clearly see how this game changed his demeanor only after some hours. She left a note on the table and went outside.

Liam on the game was still farming mobs and clearing quests. He was nearing level 8. After taking some quests he powered level up. No wonder it took him quite a lot of time leveling because the quest itself gave an abundant experience.

Liam breathe a sigh of relief. 15 hours of playing, game time, for 2 levels and 3 hours for 4 levels. He only needed to submit the quest and he will surely level up. He didn't know if he should cry or laugh because he was almost there.

Well, he still enjoyed the time he spent playing and familiarizing himself. Liam withdrew his sword and went back to town. Liam submitted the quest and gain a level. Bright lights surrounded him indicating that he gained a level. Liam looked at his items. He now have 43 copper coins 12 meats of boar and rabbit remaining and a potion. A potion on the beginner village was expensive. It costs 30 copper coins per piece but Liam didn't have a choice.

He went from the item shop and sold his remaining uncooked meat which only gained him 2 coppers and bought a lesser red(HP) potion. The remaining 15 copper coins was used to buy a sword which only had an attack of 2 compared to his which was only 1. It only increase by one but he knew to well how that 1 point could change a lot of things. After his preparation he embarked on the direction of the 'predator'. He would now finish the quest whether he fail or succeed.
