The Truth About Emperor -1

In the past, Zhang Xin did not have any friends so she could pretty much live without one now. she was already used to it.

thinking back in time, Zhang Xin remembered cultivation and immediately she thought of it, it was as if a huge burden was lifted from her. she felt her blocked meridians open, giving way for the spiritual energy to flow throughout her body. there was feeling of extreme refreshness and peace, it was as if she was renewed from within and filled with power. She felt her whole body relax as if something broke free.

that's right, the only thing she had to do was to think of it!

in her past life, Zhang Xin was a cultivator. But it only lasted for 3 years–which started the day she knew how to walk and recognize Chinese characters. But she couldn't breakthrough for certain reasons and during the longevity festival of the following year, she couldn't cultivate any more.

But even though she couldn't cultivate, her fighting skills were superb and that was what made her reach the position of a general... and Chang Liu's play toy.

Her meridians were now unblocked, which meant she could cultivate again!

calming herself down from over-excitement, she took a deep breath and sat crossed-legged on her bed to cultivate for the first time in many years.

****

seems like emperor's finally regained his senses. Zhang Xin thought as he had not caused trouble lately.

not minding her own business, she decided to go check what exactly he was doing.

walking towards the door, she saw that it was a little bit opened so she used that opportunity and peep into the room. though the opening was small, she could still close an eye and get a good view.

peeping into the large room, she saw a muscular figure sitting cross-legged on the bed performing some strange movements with his hands.

what the hell was he doing?

Zhang Xin thought of a possible answer to her question but immediately discarded it. it couldn't be what she thought it was.

Sensing someone's eyes on him, Chang Liu immediately opened his eyes and followed the direction from where it came. his eyes landed on the space between the door and he saw a little of the woman behind it. though if it were to be an ordinary human, she would be unnoticed but he was an immortal, the strongest in his group for that matter, so it would be a shame if he could not do such a simple thing.

"you should come in, you've been discovered"

opening the door slowly, Zhang Xin entered the room with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

"just now... I was just passing by"

"why were you eavesdropping on me?"

What?" she said dragging the word "why would you think that? in fact, the door was left open and I came here not long ago. would you call that eavesdropping? Furthermore, any human in their right senses would follow normal instincts to look into somewhere when the door is left open right?"

"...."

"umm... just now, what you...were you cultivating?"

unsure of whether to answer the woman standing in his front or not, Chang Liu finally concluded and let out a sigh

"yes"

Though it was new and not exactly shocking to her, she felt relieved. she was no longer alone in this world where cultivation was kind of mythical?

"what were the strange hand movements and all that for?"

now was the first time in years Chang Liu has ever felt nervous.

Chang Liu didn't know where this feeling came from, but he felt like telling this woman the whole truth about his life, and he gave in to his feelings. his heart always led him towards the right path so he believed that if he let it out now, he wouldn't regret it. this choice would either be the end of him or otherwise.
