Pressure Relief

Mathew had been driving for three hours before a beeping noise started. He looked down and saw he was near empty on gasoline. Samuel has slept for the entire trip. Mathew's goal was to exit Manterine into Anton, Manterine's only other bordering country other than Sarthins. Anton was on extremely friendly terms with Manterine and even supplied troops when needed to push back the Sarthins.

Samuel mumbles something and Mathew glances at him.

"You alright Samuel?"

"Ya...."

Mathew was nervous due to Samuel fainting. They were in the middle of nowhere when the truck sputtered out. Mathew pulled to the side of the road. Mathew had hoped he would at least reach the border outpost where the Antons could help him.

Mathew gets out of the truck and unloads Samuel's suit from the bed after removing the tarp.

"Can you fix it?" Mathew asked. "I can lend some nano bots to replace the missing parts."

"Um...possible?"

Samuel worked for a while before they heard a humming. There was a light trail, or hover tracks nearby. They had thought of waiting to hitch a ride on a cargo tracken to the border, but was immediately dissed because the tracken could reach speeds that could rip ones arms out of the socket by grabbing hold of even a nick or pole on it, if you can grab it that is.

Mathew and Samuel watch as it zips by. The two talk little as Samuel works on the suit. With a lot of effort and patience the suit turns on. Samuel pumps his fist in the air in excitement while Mathew sighs in relief. They won't have to go super slow.

Mathew helps Samuel into the suit and they take off at a very quick pace- they only had so long until Samuel's suit would die and need a recharge. Mathew's suit's nano bots charge each other so it doesn't die easily resulting in Mathew not worrying about his charge.

Eventually they can see the border. They had traveled about a hundred and seventy miles in the truck and seven to ten miles on foot. They arrived with hands up, as to be unthreatening. Guards rushed to them to detain them- until they realized who they were. All four guard's jaws dropped.

The guards lowered their weapons and gave Mathew a salute. Mathew did the same back.

"I would like to talk to your commander." Mathew stayed sternly.

"Yes Sir!" One of the men said. Bart wouldn't believe who had just showed up! Mathew stood awkwardly waiting for the other guards to do something. But they stood quietly and perfectly still.

Finally a plump man showed up. Apparently it was their commanding officer and he welcomed them into the staff building.

"What brings you to Anton?" Bart asked

"I have no business in Manterine anymore... I thought you knew?" Mathew was concerned as to why the guards didn't know about the fall of Manterine.

"Know what?" Bart was confused.

"Manterine has fallen."

Bart was taken aback. How could Manterine fall after so long "What?" Was all Bart could say.

"If you don't mind we really must be going I need to talk to the sector commander. Could you give me the directions and possibly a vehicle?" Mathew didn't have time for this, Sarthin troops were hit on his trail.

"Y-Yes!" Bart responded. He sent one of his men to get a car ready. Another helped Samuel out of his suit.

After a little more conversation, Mathew and Samuel left in the black sedan the guards provided. It would be a long drive. The capital was six-seven hundred miles away. Mathew and Samuel has a long drive ahead.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY CROSSED THE BORDER!" Jerome screamed. Even his elite troops couldn't break through the advanced border of Anton. Especially with the droids the entire border was lined with.

"HAVE ONE OF OUR SPIES GO THROUGH AND FIND THEIR LOCATION AND BERID OF THE TROOPS THAT FAILED!" With that Jerome left the room in a huff.
