After that fateful night, everything changed for Jennifer. Gone was the girl who used to smile and laugh along with others, cry in their pain and help them in their need. What remained was only an emotionless vessel who just had one aim in her life: Revenge.

"No one can control me anymore!! I will live my life as per my wish." She said with hatred in her voice.

"Heh...Love is what? The best thing that happened to you?? Tsk..tsk..such a fool. Remember, love is just another name of destruction. The ones who believe in love are all fools. I was also one of them, but not now. I will never fall in love again. Also, don't come crying to me once you face a betrayal."

"What will it take for you to accept me?" 

Jennifer looked at the man as if he had grown two heads!!

"Mister I have told this earlier too, I don't want to get into a relationship, so why not stop chasing after me?"

"Please tell me what should I do to make you mine?" The man pleaded.

Annoyed by his questions about the same thing again and again, Jennifer finally replied, "If you can defeat me in a fight, I will think about it." 

She was quite confident that no one could defeat her.

"You lost...."

"No, this can't be true right," murmured Jennifer. She was totally confused and shocked. Never did she think that 'he' would be able to defeat her. 

"So what do you want?" She asked with confusion laced in her voice.

"Are you sure you will fulfil my wish?" He smiled much to her displeasure.

"Yes, I never back down on my words." She spoke back with gritted teeth, showing her displeasure, even though she knew this decision of hers might lead her into something complex.

"Marry Me," He demanded.

"Wait what?!! But you are gay right?" This was her immediate response to his demand. Who in their sane mind would want to marry a gay? That too with the man with whom she was previously in a fake relationship.

He chuckled and slowly bent down near her ear "You will know when you will marry me" he whispered.

"You..."

Torn between the battle of her brain and heart, Jennifer doesn't know what she should choose? 

Should she listen to her brain which was constantly signalling her of the alert or should she follow her heart, which would pound erratically for some handsome 'devil'?

Because of her traumatic past, Jennifer had sworn never to fall in love again. To never let her heart skip a beat again for someone. But she fails, terribly; when a certain dashing devil enters into her dark world.

Will this devilishly handsome man break the walls of her heart? 

Will he be able to help her past her traumas and her insecurities?

The Secret Of The Beauty In Black

First of all, thank you so much friends for giving your precious time in reading my story! I just want to give you a heads-up on what you can expect from this book.


1. This is my very first book and you all know that it goes by the name, "THE SECRET OF THE BEAUTY IN BLACK."


2. This story has many characters and let me warn you that you would be a little confused at the start with how I have introduced them. You will find that there isn't proper character building, but trust me that you would get a perfect understanding of them in the later chapters. I am first trying to put effort on the male leads and then would shift to the others.


3. Chapters are short, around 600 words for the first arc and 1200 words or more for the second arc as for now till I edit them. Don't worry about using passes as I am not planning on going premium for now. As this is my first work and I know that I have a lot to improve, so I had decided to not go premium. Maybe in the future, it may go premium. But for now, enjoy the free chapters.


4. There are few grammatical mistakes and I am more than happy if you would point them out, I will fix them. In the first few chapters, you will find more mistakes compared to the later ones. I am trying to improve my writing and I haven't edited the first few chapters except the first two. I love it when the readers interact with me, so I hope that you would leave your honest comments in the comment box below the chapters. Please feel free to speak your mind out while commenting.


5. Please leave Constructive criticism about the plot and characters. Let me know what you like and what you don't, so we can improve more!


6. The story is slow-paced. Yes, if you are ready to endure that then please do continue. Romance might be a little late for the leads, mainly with them falling in love but don't worry I would make sure to feed you dog food now and then.


7. I am still a student so the updates may be irregular. But for now, I am still trying to write two chapters daily. The mass release would be rewarded as per weekly goals and also at the end of the month( if possible as my schedule is tight.)


8. Please make sure that you are not rude in the comment section. Yes, you can correct my mistakes but using abusive language would not sit quite well with me. If you do not like the book then please have the courtesy to just leave.
