"This is not exactly easier than before!" Fanella runs from a mob into a bunch of trees. She easily disappears from sight now watching the mod slowly come to a stop.
"She has got to be around here somewhere! Those devils will steal your soul!" One shouts.
"Steal human souls? Why?" Fanella whispered then laughed at the thought that any species would want a human soul.
"How do you know it was an elf? She looked human to me." A younger one speaks up.
"Her eyes were like the stars. As soon as you look into them you get trapped in space."
"That sounds ridiculous." Both she and the younger boy said at the same time.
"What color were they?" He continues.
"Dark blue, like the ocean."
"Pa, that's a human eye color, and you just scared the poor thing off. She's all alone out there because of your kill first ask questions later method. No young girl should be alone during the war. Pa, we gotta stick together! Common lets head back, it was a false alarm!"
"Nice, except chasing me with fire. Sorry kid, nice ain't gonna do it. I gotta find the perfect human." She tilted her head up to find a Pearl Falcon resting in her nest.
"Oops sorry, didn't mean to intrude. I'll take my leave." She sat up nodding towards the Falcon and jumped to a nearby tree.
It was very different here, all the plants and animals were vastly different in how they survived. This place lacked pure energy, many of the plants were down and discolored. Many of the animals withheld a great anger. Combing from tree to tree Fanella was saddened by the sight. Seeing a fire otter caught in some sort of trap sent her into an outrage.
"I am starting to wonder if this mission will be impossible." She took a deep breath before descending the tree. The otter acknowledged her immediately, first with fangs, then after tilting his head, submission.
"I mean you no harm. May I approach?" Fanella asked circling the trap. There had to be a way to get him out. The otter showed no sign of fear or anger. Fanella approached slowly.
"What does this say?"Fanella found the words inside the trap. She then sighed and decided to just pry the teeth apart.
"How strong are humans, jeez!" She tried with no sucess.
"There is a latch on the side, but you should probably kill your catch first." Another laughs crossing her arms, leaning against a tree. Fanella looked towards where the voice was coming from, but only saw an outline. They were hidden boy the trees shadows. Fanella had never experienced a situation like that, it was always brightly lit in the Light Elven Kingdom. Disregarding her awe at the new idea she turned back towards the trap to look for the latch.
"We can't kill it. We have to let it go." Fanella finds the latch and releases the otter.
"Right, so I am guessing this wasn't your trap?" The figure sighs.
The fire otter frightened by the new creature climbs up around Fanella's neck and sends a warm shiver through her. As a thank you she sends a pure energy out.
"What is that?" The figure takes a deep breath smelling the air almost hypnotized.
"Well, thats pure energy. I hear sometimes the wind carries pure energy from the Light Elven Kingdom." Fanella strings together a story. For once her more human like appearance made her feel safer. As long as they didnt come closer or she look directly at them.
"You believe in light elves?" The figure laughs, rather hard.
"I mean I guess." Fanella smiled, softly laughing. She placed her hands to her ears to make sure they were still covered by her hair.
"And if you save all the animals one's gonna find you and bring you to their enchanted kingdom?" She asks rather specifically. Fanella just nodded unsure on what to say.
"Well, all thats gonna do is get some very angry hunters and huntresses after you. Being alone isn't smart for a pretty little thing like you. I suggest you head along the Housen Sea border. I have a feeling you will be welcomed." The figure turns away.
"Wait what is your name?"
"Those get us killed you know." Fanella could now see her, she was pretty. Her short brown hair and deep brown eyes. She had helped out Fanella.
"Nice… not perfect." Fanella shook her head reminding herself. Maybe along the shoreline there would be more people. A bigger chance to find the perfect human.
