Damon was making much headway despite his constant interruptions. Saundra kept doing things that she knew ignored him.
"So a princess? Guess you guys can't get married."
"Thats not even how it works."
"It's not like she'd be into a dark elf anyways." Saundra continued to pester him.
"What do you want?"
"Why'd you keep it a secret from me?" She questions as Damon just stops and peers at her.
"Ok, fair. But come on I thought we had a bond."
"And that bond is over once you get paid? Its not like you were helping us out of the kindness of your heart."
"Oh come on! Neither was your girlfriend. I may want money, but she wanted your sister."
"Iona made her decision."
"Oh I see."
Finally it was quiet as the two continued on.
"What are ogres like?"
"Will you shut up?" Damon finally yells as his eyes turn red.
"Dang sorry, I didn't know you were so sensitive about it." She stopped as she was talking about the fact Fanella would never care about him. Though she knew that he thought she meant about the ogres.
"Who goes there?" A large ogre stands.
"Dang those things can sneak up on you!" Saundra falls back placing her one hand on her heart and one hand on her knife.
"Greetings, I mean you no harm. I am Damon of the Dark Elves. I was sent by a recent guest of yours." Damon smiled calmly. He knew that there were boundaries, ones set by both the Dark elves and the Ogres. He did not plan to break any bond. In all truth he did not like relating to the dark elves in any way.
"You come with a human? That is odd behavior for an Elf."
"When war wages, odd behavior isn't my top priority. My sister told me that you were looking for someone who was half elf, half human." Damon explains.
"We have already found them and all hope is lost to win the war without more bloodshed." They explain.
"What if she wasn't the one you were looking for?"
"Because you are a Dark elf we shall listen to what you have to say, but she stays here. She had the look of death in her eye."
"Well he ain't wrong." Saundra shrugs.
"Come Tein shall speak with you as the night falls."
"Thats still several hours away." Saundra grew impatient.
"Why don't you go into Ingram? I'll come for you about 2 hours after nightfall at the gates."
Saundra was almost expecting this situation looks over and nods. She stops to turn back watching the two head towards a large gated area. Maybe she was a little sad she could see what the warrior species did, but she had to talk to Jurgen about something.
