BOOK OF FOLK 2

NOTE: This is just a rough draft of what the second chapter was going to be about, for now, this story will go uncompleted as I look for another short story to write about

Chapter 2: He's so distressed that he almost dies due to a gunshot from an elf, but is saved by a constable from the sheriff's office. He goes crazy saying he needs to see his dad so the constable knocks him out. The constable quickly checks Vergil to see if he has anything on him and verifies that he does in fact have the book that they're looking for. He goes to take it but notices the government officials heading towards him and decides to play it safe or else he might get caught and get the book taken away from him due to the government also looking for the book. While knocked out he meets an unknown entity who says that due to The Book of Folk having some kind of magical property he will be able to gain a forgotten and rare magic power known as "shapeshift". He wakes up soon after and realizes that he's in a tent. He looks for a nearby mirror and checks his appearance so that the readers know what he looks like. He walks out of the tent only to realize that the whole town has basically burned down.

The constable sees him and walks up to him telling him what happened to his father and the town. He explains that the tents and medical centers were made by the government officials who arrived soon after the terrorist organization. The constable explains that one of the only places that is still not burnt down is his house because of how secluded it was because of the trees and the fact that the terrorists didn't have enough time to burn everything down. He thanks the constable and the constable gives him some advice on what he should do next including telling him that he has known his father for a long time and the reason why his father doesn't get support from his grandparents is because he went against their wishes and married Chester's mother who was seen as rebellious by them. They now reside in Moose Jaw according to your dad. The constable also says that an old friend of his owes him a favor and he will ask if he can take Chester to Moose Jaw free of charge. Chester then goes to his house where he plans to take all the important things and head over to Moose Jaw which is west of North Louise and is located in the Saskatchewan province. While looking for his stuff however he stumbles and falls on a secret floorboard inside his moms' room which inside contains money (both U.S and Canadian), a magic-powered gun, a picture of his father and his mom(we get to see what his mom and his dad looked like) and a letter from his father that explains that there would only be one reason for him to ever visit his mothers' room even though Chester's father had told Chester to never go inside for his own sake. Chester cries when he reads the letter and determines himself to find out exactly who did this to his father and also to finish the book that his father never could. Chester leaves the house but starts feeling sentimental and before he closes the door for the last time in a while he says "goodbye to my one and only true home, we'll be reunited at some point." Chester closes the door and heads over to the constable where the constable introduces his friend, Liam. Vergil gets in the magic-powered car and Liam explains how it works saying that it's powered by putting your hands on the steering wheel where magic receptive metal takes in the magic from your body and uses it to power the vehicle. Chester asks if this is also how magic-powered guns work using magic receptive metal and Liam replies with "Yeah somewhat, I'm not an expert on guns so you'll have to ask someone who knows their stuff when it comes to that." Chester nods and waits, but before departing the constable gives Chester a badge with the Canadian flag engraved on it and the number 2489 on the back. The constable says that Chester can exchange this badge for food and materials at Moose Jaw thanks to the fact that this town was destroyed and burnt down by terrorists. Chester thanks the constable but struggles to say the constable's name since he doesn't know it. The constable says it's fine and says that his name is Nathan. Chester once again thanks the constable using his name and the constable simply says he's just repaying Chester's father, Noah, for all he has done. Liam drives off to Moose Jaw, with Chester slowly waving back at Nathan. What Chester doesn't know however is that Nathan is actually part of the terrorist organization himself and says "Yeah he's driving off right now, off he goes to Moose Jaw that brat. You're sending a team after him? Good everything going according to plan then." Nathan puts down the walkie-talkie and says "Noah, you really thought you could hide the Book of Folk from me by using your son and make it seem like it was forever lost? Well, too bad all you did was make a terrorist organization go after him." Nathan lays down in a nearby chair and says "The Book of Folk, a book said to contain a mystical and forgotten magic power. If I can get my hands on that I'm sure I could take over Canada and if everything goes according to plan, I bet I could even take over the U.S.A. The only reason I even pretended like saving that brat was because we didn't know where the book was but now that I've verified where it is we can simply dispose of the brat and acquire the book for ourselves." Nathan closes his eyes and admires the smell of the burnt town all while saying "Man, it sure does feel good to have power." -END OF CHAPTER 2 (Note: the gov knows about The Book of Folk and its powers but Chester doesn't know because he has lived in a somewhat secluded town and also because his dad has never told him, his dad was originally going to tell Chester about it but he was killed before he could.)
