*12 Outside world

Hello Lovelies, I'm back after a short absence.

Little prism, a quartz point and one of Emerald's sisters, twinkled sparkled and shined as she was hoisted up out of the cave. She had never seen the outside world. Once she saw all of the shapes, sizes, and colors of this big space that she had never imagined in all of her days, she was truly in awe and a bit overwhelmed. Finally after seeing the big Jimmie she calmed herself.

Jimmie explained to Kaleb that when the light hit prism in the correct way that she could cast infanint rainbows on the walls, with no need for rain. So such a treasure was not to be taken for granted. He took it upon himself to place her properly in his pocket to safely take her to their home as he led Kaleb away for dinner. Once home he demonstrated prisms ability using an oil lamp and holding her and turning her carefully. Kaleb was thrilled. "Can all gems do that Grandpa?," he asked. "Not all of them my boy, but each gem has their own unique properties. I'll get you some books on it once we go into town.", Jimmie answered.

Mean while back in the cave Emerald, Ruby, and Essper were musing over what they thought was in the Outside world. Essper told them that besides her place with Mr. Penn that she had ever only come to the cave. Ruby acknowledged the same. They spoke of the things that had been brought in and out by the mice and the memories of times long passed. They spoke of Jimmie being little then becoming big. They spoke of how things changed after the day the rumble on the mountain brought them together. Time passed quite nicely this way. Mother Matrix silently listened and muse herself. Father stillagtite still liying down on the cave floor next to her. Many more little sparkles grew into crystals and gems over the many years and decorated the cave walls.

Back at the house the little prism told Jimmie and Kaleb all of the stories of things that had happened in the cave over so many years. Jimmie and Kaleb never knew so much could happen in a cave.

One morning Jimmie got a letter saying that there were many more things happening in the family that were not so good. His Son had been drafted and his Daughter-in-law had been killed in an accident. So the authorities were trying to get a hold of next of kin to retrieve the other children. He and Kaleb had to leave the mountain home for a while. Kaleb took prism back to the cave to be with the others and promised to come back as soon as he could. Prism told everyone about the bigness of outside the cave, about the home, and of what she learned while with Jimmie and Kaleb. She even told Emerald, Ruby, and Essper about the books that Kaleb was given. She gushed over how many gems there were in the world. Then she told them of glorious, gourgious gems that got to travel the world in a thing called jewelry. How she longed to be one of those fancy, special ones to be able to be one of them. She spoke as if they were the cellebrities of the whole gem world. All of the others pined to be one of them too with the excited way she spoke.
