Chapter 10

After Natasha's special lecture with Daniel – she couldn't think of him as her boyfriend, he was her dom at best – she didn't really feel like attending the other courses she had on schedule. But then Amanda would know something was up, and she didn't want that.

And thus, although she felt a little bit sore, she continued with her day as if nothing had happened.

Nevertheless, when they went to grab lunch at 2 pm, her bestie told her in a half-amused half-serious tone, "I don't know what Carl said or did to you, but do tell him to continue."

Natasha couldn't help but laugh heartily at that.

Amanda cocked a quizzical eyebrow at that. "Something funny?"

"Yeah," Natasha told her in between giggles, "I broke up with him this morning, that's what we did."

"No!" Her friend exclaimed immediately. "Seriously?"

Natasha nodded, a smirk stretching her lips.

"Why?"

"Because he's a big liar," Natasha deadpanned.

"Honey, all guys lie," Amanda told her seriously.

"Yeah, to a certain degree," the half-American half-Russian architecture student agreed, "but he was bordering on the fantasist."

"Was he that bad?" Amanda's brown eyes bulged, "He sure had me fooled. What did he lie about?"

"About how he got into college, about his brother, about some traits of character and even about why he took on a job as a waiter," Natasha informed her, her head resting on her hand. "And I'm sure there are other things I don't know about."

"Ah well, you'll find better than him," Amanda waved her hand in dismissal. "He obviously didn't deserve you."

"I won't be losing any sleep over breaking up with him, don't worry," her friend winked at her.

"Yeah, I can see that," Amanda giggled. "We could go clubbing," she suggested after a moment.

"It's Monday," Natasha rolled her eyes.

"So? We live in LA sweetheart," was the retort she got.

"Nah," Natasha shook her head, "I just wanna have a shower and then go to sleep tonight. I'm kind of tired."

"I noticed that you have trouble walking a little bit," her friend observed absentmindedly.

Natasha had to fight back both the blush that wanted to creep under her skin and the smirk that wanted to stretch her lips.

"I think I hurt my ankle this morning. Nothing serious."

"If you say so," Amanda shrugged, "You're the one who was dating a doctor."

Natasha huffed and told her in a serious tone, "Don't talk to me about him. It kind of irritates me. He doesn't deserve to become a doctor."

"Oh sweetie, just because he's a professional liar doesn't mean he isn't good at what he does," her friend countered immediately, a small disapproving frown marring her face.

"I'm not saying that because of his lies," the auburn-haired girl retorted.

"Why then?" She asked, sounding genuinely intrigued.

"Long story short? His parents paid for him to get into med school."

"No!" Her friend exclaimed, "You don't say!"

"And I heard it from him, not from someone else," Natasha added.

"He sure is a sneaky little bastard," Amanda let out as she sipped on the last bit of her juice.

"Yeah, tell me about it," Natasha let out sarcastically.

"You need to hook up with someone, and fast," the raven-haired girl retorted in response.

"Nah, I'm good for now," was the answer she received.

Natasha might not have meant to smirk but it looked like she did for her friend soon asked, "What are you hiding from me?"

"Nothing," she responded a little too fast.

"Oh, you so are!" Amanda let out, outrage coating her words. "Tell me."

How could she tell her that she had hooked up like a good little submissive with her ex's older brother who just happened to be her lecturer?

There was no way she could.

At least, not while he was still teaching them.

She therefore told her in a conniving tone, "I'll tell you all about him when the time is right."

"And when is that gonna be?" Amanda cocked an eyebrow at her in a demanding manner.

"In a few weeks," Natasha told her, a small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth.

"Okay. Okay," the raven-haired girl agreed, "I'll wait."

"Good."

"But I'll get all the juicy details," she told her in a no-nonsense tone.

"Deal."
