Chapter 17

On the ride back to the dorm, Natasha wished she could have stayed with Daniel further. She wished she could have spent the night with him. She wished for much more than he was willing to offer… at least for the time being.

But then again, she had spent one hell of a day with him.

It was 10 pm when they left the mansion. Almost 12 hours of pure unadulterated debauchery if one were to forget about the little nap they took, and then the late lunch.

Natasha had told him she was full when he had offered that they be brought dinner. And she regretted doing so, now that they had arrived at the dorm. Had she decided to eat, they would have spent at least half an hour longer together.

Was she falling in love with Daniel? No doubt about it.

But she couldn't tell him. Not yet… maybe not ever. Dom-sub relationships were about two things, trust and control. Love was not in the equation.

Error 404: Page not found, she mentally joked as she shook her head ever so slightly.

When her eyes focused on the door of her dorm, a sight that did not please her at all welcomed her. Carl, her ex, and Daniel's brother was leaning on said door.

"That guy is definitely waiting for you," Daniel joked.

"I can see that," she retorted acidly.

"I'll talk to him," Daniel reassured her while reaching out for her hand.

"Sorry but I don't want to lie to him anymore," she responded, withdrawing her hand.

Daniel turned his head towards hers and told her in a business voice, "Who said anything about lying?"

Natasha's heart soared at that. She felt like all she had to do was reach out to touch the moon… she was that happy.

If Daniel was ready to confront his brother about their relationship, it might not seem like much to him but that was one huge step forward to her.

Carl's eyes narrowed as he saw his own brother exiting the car his ex-girlfriend had been in.

"What the hell were you doing out so late with him?" He demanded, the last two words thrown with disdain and anger.

Natasha rolled her eyes, "That's none of your business."

"You're banging him now, aren't you?" He shook his head, seemingly incredulous, "I can't believe you. How could you fall for a player's charm and deceit? I thought you were better than that… Hell, how could you go out with your ex's own brother?"

He took two steps forward as if to confront her, and that's when Daniel cut in and stopped him with his hand on his shoulder, "You do not get to talk to her like that."

"You do not get to lecture me," Carl shouted, his eyes ablaze with anger.

"You should see me in class, I'm a very decent lecturer," Daniel joked, although his shoulders were stiff.

"Do you think this is funny?" His little brother spat out. "You had to take away from me the one girl I truly cared about."

"He did not take me away from you," Natasha drawled sarcastically, "you lost me because you're a liar and a jerk."

"I might be a little bit of a liar, but when was I ever a jerk to you?" Carl asked, eyes bulging.

"You started being suspicious of me the moment I met your brother. And you didn't even notice I had dyed my hair…"

The raven haired med student shook his head as if trying to dismiss the whole scene, "Who notices that kind of things?"

Natasha pointed her forefinger at Daniel, and Carl all but growled.

The next thing she knew, Carl had swung at Daniel. Daniel had dodged and then given his little brother a right blow to the tummy, and then a second one to the jaw.

Carl groaned in pain but said nonetheless, "This is not finished. We are not finished."

"Oh, yes, we are." Natasha retorted sarcastically.

"You heard the lady," Daniel told him before adding, "Next time you come near her, we'll get a restraining order."

"Are you threatening me?" Carl, who had started walking away, turned around to look his brother in the eyes.

"Just a promise, lil' bro," Daniel told him in an eerily calm manner.

"You're not my brother, never have been, never will be." And those were Natasha's ex-boyfriend's last words before he finally left them.

"Brat," Daniel let out on a sigh.

"You can say that again," Natasha agreed jokingly.

A silent moment went by, before Natasha said, dismay clear in her voice, "I guess that's it for today."

Daniel nodded. "Yeah, I'm afraid so."

"Well, have a nice night," Natasha told him as she got on her tiptoes to kiss his lips.

"You can have one sweetheart, I have work to do," he told her, a smirk adorning his face.

"You're gonna work now?" She all but shrieked.

Daniel nodded, "From home, yeah. I have a small project I must finish by the end of the week."

"Oh, okay. Bon courage." she smiled at him.

"Thanks," he pecked her lips, "Be prepared next Saturday to spend both the day and the night with me. I don't care when or how you do your homework… as long as it's not when you're with me of course."

"Of course," she told him seriously before they both burst off laughing.
