The Pitiful Assassin
The moment the man dressed as a classical assassin appeared in the room Zhon Lei directly opened his two inner gates and dashed at him,
even though the assassin was at the level of a mortal sage he was still not capable of withstanding the speed of someone that was able to go faster than the human mind can process because he had yet to shed his mortal coil and ascend to the level of a demigod, thus, the result was quite predictable,

His handsome face ruined by the blood freely flowing from microscopic tears on his skin all over the body, the body which shook with exhaustion and pain yet held firm on his mouth, eyes that appeared foggy but was soon regaining their cold look, with his white royal robes dyed red in blood he was the very definition of an evil monster from legends, but then the assassin saw a miracle occur in front of his eyes,
The tears on his skin rapidly knit themselves together at a rapid pace that was not possible even for someone that had attained the level of a battle king let alone a mere ascendent level brat, all of his muscles regenerating at a rapid pace, strength coming back to the body as it stopped shaking, all that was left of his previous injuries was his blood-stained clothes and the remaining splatter on the ground, he gave a predatory smile towards the stupefied assassin and said,
"Now that the pleasantries are over, how about we get to the point?" the demon in the human form said as the pitiful assassin started to shake in terror

Zhong Lei screamed inside his head as he ate his food at a slow pace, looking back at the incident, it was quite clear that the brother of that girl was most definitely the protagonist of the story and Zhong Lei was the first BOSS that he would have to fight to get stronger, however, Zhong Lei was not saying this without any proof, one only needs to look at the new function of the system, Appraisal, to find sufficient proof, this function was able to identify anything even if it was from a distant memory, and the memory of the peculiar ring that the village kid had was shown in the system as this,
