The beam of light shone through the room, almost too bright to look at. "We did it Susan, we summoned a god!" Jim said as he smiled towards Susan. Magical energy could be felt throughout the room as it was beginning to spark off of the being in the light. Such dense magic was filling the room that JIm and Susan were beginning to have trouble staying on their feet.
"Who dares." The entity spoke in a deep booming voice, shaking the room with his words. "Who dares summon me here?" The voice asks again.
"We did" Jim said while squinting trying to make out the god in the light. Suddenly the beam vanished as well the entity inside. "Where did he..?" Before Jim could finish his sentence he was pushed across the room from behind. The god was now standing behind where Jim was only a moment ago. The gods gaze then turns to Susan and in an instant she went flying across the room as well landing on Jim.
"Mortals should not think so highly of themselves as to stand before a god. Now kneel and beg for my forgiveness." Spoke the god.
Jim and Susan looked at each other, then Susan got off Jim and stood up. Jim stood behind her. "We will not kneel, we will show you we are worthy of your help." Jim then looks to Susan. "Ok Susan just like you did before." Susan begins to cast the spell she had cast just earlier that day, magical energy shot off of her as she summoned a giant ball of light and sent it into the air. "See god, this one is loved by magic. Don't you find that interesting?" Smiled Jim. "Good work Susan, we might have a chance." He whispered to her.
"Is that supposed to impress me? A tiny ball of light?" The god then held out his hand and lifted only his pinky finger. "I will show you power mortals." Just then energy shot through the room and a ball of light began to form above his pinky. It grew and grew until it was over four times larger than Susan's spell. "You see mortals your magic is nothing compared to that of my pinky finger. Do you have something else to impress me…" With all the extra light in the room you the god could now make out Jim and Susan quite well. He stopped talking and decided to study over them a bit.
"Jim what is he doing? He is looking at us like we are food." Asked Susan
"I don't know Susan, I don't like it though, remember gods only live for their own pleasure. I will defend you Susan even if I die trying." A stern looking Jim replied.
"Oh my… Aren't you a vision." The god said while looking at them. "We should get better acquainted, don't you think?" Asked the god.
"Here he comes Susan, I'll protect you!" Jim yelled as the god vanished and reappeared right in front of Jim.
"Dear boy, you seem to misunderstand it's not the female I am after." Smiled the god. Jim's face then became pale and lifeless as the horror entered his thoughts. "Astros, Astros is my name. And you are my dear mortal?" Smiled the god while looking at Jim.
Jim could now see Astros in all of his glory, he was slightly taller than even Jim standing at six foot nine inches. He was wearing an open vest with a perfectly bronzed chest, that looked to be oiled with a perfect six pack. His hair was a solid jet black that flowed down to his waist. "My name is Jim. I am the guardian of this seal." Replied Jim while staring Astros in the eye.
"Well Jim why don't we get to know each other better." Astros said has he lighted his hand and pointed at Jims shirt with his index finger. Just then a beam of light shot from his finger and cut right through Jims shirt. Now Jim's chest was exposed as well. This was actually the first time Susan had seen Jim's chest for he had always worn a shirt in the past. Jim was well built with well defined pecs and a six pack to match even Astros's. "Oh my… You are quite the specimen Jim, quite the specimen indeed." Astros said while running his tongue across his lips.
Susan who is now blushing at the sight, tried to take up for Jim. "You can't just assault him!" She yelled at Astros.
This got Astros to look at her for a moment. "Quiet mortal, you misunderstand, you have no right to talk to me." He then uses his magic to send her flying across the room again.
"Susan!" Yelled Jim, worried for her safety.
"Don't worry about her, she will be fine, she has protection wards all over her clothes. You did that didn't you?" Smiled Astros.
"Yes, I wanted to keep her safe." Replied Jim.
"So she's safe and she is now out of the way so shall we get to know each other?" Astros said while rubbing the side of Jim's face with the back of his fingers. "She is right though I wouldn't just assault you. A willing partner is much more pleasurable. So how about it, do you want to partake in the glory of the gods?" Astros smiled just knowing he would win Jim over, for gods are never denied by mortals who find them completely irresistible.
"No, I am not into guys. Sorry." Jim replied.
A look of shock came over Astros's face, he had never been denied before, even in the realm of the gods he was one of the most attractive. He never found anyone he could not bed and now this mortal was denying him his pleasure. Of course all this just made Astros want Jim even more. "Very well Jim, for now I will hold off my assault, but know that I will win you over one day." Astros said with a half smile and a plotting look upon his face. "Why did you and the female summon me?"
Jim then explains everything that has happened so far to Astros, the underworld opening, eighty percent of the population dead, and the choice he and the other guardians had to make in response to the magical realms. "The main reason we summons you is we need your knowledge of ancient magics, after the sealing most of humanity's knowledge was lost. We need a spell that can bring back the dead."
"A resurrection spell, you mortals always want to bring back what is lost. Yes I know of one, though it does not work on humans." Replied Astros.
Susan went pale, she had just lost all the hope she had. She began the well up with tears all over again. "What does the spell work on then?" Asked Jim.
"Magical races, humans are not among those." Astros smiled while replying. "Don't lose hope yet little mortal, if you are not pure human I may be able to bring your offspring back at least."
"If I'm not pure human? What does that even mean?" Susan asked while fighting back the tears.
"In the time when all the realms were one, humans had relations with all the other races. Their offspring had offspring, on the off chance you have the blood of the magical races in you there is hope. I know of a spell that will tell us if you do. However be warned that they will be resurrected into their magical form and not of a human."
"If I get my babies back I don't care what they are, they would still be my babies!" Susan exclaimed.
"Very well I will perform the spell. On Jim first, personal reasons you see." Astros then reaches his hand out and places it at the top of Jim's head. Jim then gets an aura around him that beings to swirls and glow. "Interesting, I knew there was something special about you. Jim you have god in you. Would you like some more god inside of you?" Astros said while winking at Jim.
"Oh, no thank you." Jim said while blushing. "So I am part god that's pretty amazing!"
"Right well just let me know if you change your mind about it." Astros then turns to Susan. "Ok your turn." Astros places his hand on top of Susan and magic swirled around her. "Ok you are part fairy. I knew you had to be part something, humans don't have magic and yet you could cast a spell, therefore not human. Fairy explains why are are so short as well." Astros snarkley said.
"So you can bring them back, you can bring my kids back?" Susan asked with a renewed hope.
"Of course I am a god after all. Though I do not have all I require to bring them back. Also keep in mind they will return as fairies and not as humans." Astros explained. "I will require their souls, we need to go to where they died and collect them. Normally I would just pluck them from the underworld, but since the underworld is now merged with your realm their souls should have remained where they died. So we physically have to go there. Next I need something to keep the souls in when we collect them, something completely sealed like a gem. If you have rings I can place them inside of there. Next we will have to go to the gate containing the fairies, with their magic sealed we need more access to it. Of course if you decide to open the gates and merge the realms fairy magic would return and we would not need to travel to the gate. Once I bring their souls back they will reborn as new fairies, but they will remember their past lives in time."
"Sounds like a pretty interesting adventure." Jim said. "Can we count on your help during the adventure Astros?"
"Oh Jim you aren't getting rid of me that easy." Astros said while grabbing Jim's ass and squeezing it.
Jim jumped in the air at the shock of having his ass squeezed. "Please don't do that!" Pleaded Jim. "I told you I am not into men."
"Exactly you never said you were not into gods. I am no man." Astros said with a smile. Astros gives Jim's ass another squeeze as he says that.
"Sigh" Jim just gives up for now, if it gets the help of a god its a small price to pay. "Let's head out, we have to go find more food anyway. Our stock of food is starting to run low."
They head for the elevator and exit the temple.
