Chapter 46 — Dragon Wrath.
Blood Hell Asteroid | 11:57 PM.
Whoosh—!
The silent rumbling sounds of the crimson beams resounded viciously. It flew in every path and branched out into various different forks, moving in an unpredictable pattern.
It incinerated everything it encountered into ashes without differentiating between foe and allies alike. The beams seemed completely
unstoppable, but it couldn't incinerate a certain enemy.
No matter how much the powerful beams attacked It, the wide and long metallic coat clad in lightning seemed indestructible. It continues to endure the relentless pursuit of the beams without breaking, causing it to be riddled with scorched marks.
The metallic coat flapped valiantly, as if nothing could possibly destroy and pass through it.
A thick, black charcoal smoke soon filled the blood-red asteroid. A scorching stench was spreading from several molten grounds.
Rokurome stood firmly on the ground, its coat and whole frame covered in crimson lightning.
⟨ Mechanical Parasitism: Stage 1 ⟩
⟨ Gluttony•Parasite ⟩
Mr. Alien's mechanical voice replaced the computer system of Rokurome. Jason's crystal core also started to act strangely as it started to spin excitedly. It immediately began to attract the particles of the universe at a fast rate, and converted it into a special force.
This special force was the Mechanical Force, the lifespan that Jason and Mr. Alien needed to live.
The crimson lightning, the symbol of mechanical force, caused a strange reaction towards Rokurome. It caused a transformation.
Inside the cockpit, Jason sat silently with his brows furrowed. His eyes flickered with slivers of lightning. The neuro ring also deployed over his head.
And unknowingly, his crystal core began to form a link with the two reactors within Rokurome. It was just a link, making it not able to form a perfect synchronization.
Jason then closed his eyes, feeling a new kind of weird sense. It wasn't physical, but more about spirituality. A corporeal connection was formed between him and Rokurome. It was the perfect unity between man and machine.
A long time has passed since he entered this strange state. It felt surreal, but pleasant.
The figure of Rokurome now appeared more fearsome and menacing like a true demon, a clear stark difference compared to the first parasitism.
Its body swelled proportionately to appear larger and bulky like a ferocious beast awakening from its slumber, resulting in the armour plates to loosen and have linear gaps. The silver thread tissues surpassed the intended output limit, bulging hideously and were now scorching red from heat. The linear gaps were now continuously releasing red starry fogs that were made from excess particles and crimson lightning, appearing visually striking to the eyes.
The back thruster emitted starry particles that seemed like a sea of crimson stars.
With its body slouching forward, Rokurome looked like a predator about to pounce on its prey. It was completely crimson, looking like a gluttonous demon.
With this transformation, Rokurome was extremely powerful.
Rokurome raised the Thunder Spear that now looked like a Crimson Spear of Light.
The various energy gems started to condense before releasing a bunch of intense crimson beams.
No, it was more like a Thunder Beam.
The eyes of the dragon glowed red, blazing with intense wrath. It was furious to see its serious attack not managing to destroy Jason.
It also sensed the superiority of Rokurome's transformation. It somehow felt wrathful of the strange personality within the source.
The dragon growled hideously, countless tiny holes opening across its body. Soon, tiny missiles flew out, all charging toward Rokurome.
A new kind of attack pattern.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
The missiles and thunder beams met, causing several explosions to fill the asteroid.
The space trembled as Rokurome and the Dragon fought with countless missiles and thunder beams.
Seeing the stalemate, Rokurome stopped firing and charged forward with the back thruster at full thrust.
In a flash, it disappeared amongst the explosions happening around them.
Haaahh....
With a deep heavy exhale, a white fog leaked out from Rokurome's mouthpiece as it neared the dragon's humongous body.
Swooosh!
A spear flashed and crackled wildly with lightning, piercing continuously towards the dragon.
Each and every stabs destroyed the tough scales that were also the eyes of the dragon, slowly carving out a large hole toward the core.
The dragon let out a furious roar, countless tall spikes suddenly growing out from all over its body.
Stab!
Rokurome was hit on the right leg while flying backward to avoid the spikes. However, it crumbled apart after touching
the lightning.
Jason decided to fly far away because the spikes didn't stop extending. The spikes impaled various Gaunas as it extended everywhere, absorbing them in its wrathful state.
The dragon grew larger like a domineering titan, its hideous scaled body becoming disproportionate like a true monster.
It soon stopped growing after becoming a colossal titan or dragon. Besides that thing, Rokurome was like a tiny ant.
Jason looked incredulous at the dragon, cursing at how colossal it was. However, he soon heard a loud explosion from the distance.
He saw the colossal dragon acting strange, its humongous head turning around in fury. No, he was extremely furious.
Large wings continuously sprouted from its back, stacking upon each other when there was no more space. As if someone stole its treasure, the dragon immediately vanished from the spot, heading back toward the crater with all its eyes opened widely, revealing a maniac and wrathful gaze.
Jason was then called by someone—
"Jason, we have successfully destroyed the main source of the linked-type Gauna!"
Instead of feeling happy after hearing that news, Jason wasn't happy. He felt dread instead!
This situation is bad!
Rokurome immediately followed after the colossal dragon, but Jason found it to be much faster despite its size.
....
Akai pivoted the Sword Cannon, steadily aiming at the very center of the crater. The cables attached to the sword soon began to glow brightly as vast amount of particles were infused into it.

[ Maximum Output Will Result In Overload Explosion! ]
The system prompts alerted him, but Akai paid no heed to it.

[ Infusement•Sword Cannon ]
The infusion rate was extremely fast, the sole main particle reactor couldn't keep up with its recovery rate. So, Akai included the high-density particles within the converter storage that has been accumulating for a long time now.
With the high-density particles, the damage of the Sword Cannon will also increase by another level.
[ Sword Cannon•500% ]
The infusion rate was still far away, the other pilots started to fight bravely to buy enough time.
The second platoon took down the incoming Gaunas using their energy beams. They also relied on the machine gun and high-speed blade when a Gauna neared them.
Their coordination with each other was seamless, rarely making any mistakes.
This was the result born from their strenuous combat training.
Akai rechecked the trajectory of the sword cannon. Jason had given him the exact path toward the main core, so he only needed to make sure there were no errors behind the calculations.
The only problem left would probably be the placenta membrane that they couldn't completely destroy. There were some left, about as thick as a pillar.

Akai looked at the sword cannon wrapped in extremely dense blue light. It was shaking unceasingly from the pressure condensed within it.
"Second Platoon, clear the way and retreat behind!" Akai immediately signalled everyone to retreat.
The second platoon quickly flew backward while shooting at the leftover Gaunas near them.
Akai took a deep breath and prayed that nothing would go wrong. He then pressed the trigger and also the emergency ejection button at the same time.
The sword soon released a blinding light, unstable lightning surrounding it.
And from the tip of the swore, a condensed yet blazing linear beam erupted like a missile. No, it was like a Nuclear Beam, bringing an unimaginable pressure along with it.
An extremely blinding light erupted everywhere. It was accompanied by a space-deafening explosion that caused a powerful shockwave.
The Nuclear Beam was like the heavenly punishment of God—It resembled a tower of light penetrating the humongous crater.
It also illuminated the inside and cleared the reddish smogs away. It pierced through the remaining placenta membrane and continued further, heading toward the main core of the linked-type Gauna or the thrusters.
The second platoon couldn't look straight into it, but they were clearly horrified by the power of it.
Soon enough, the blinding light vanished as countless pinkish bubbles began to float around.
The command bridge then excitedly prompted them that the thruster was successfully destroyed. Now, they could finally launch the missile to destroy the asteroid without it changing course to dodge.
The entire second platoon were excited, but then remembered Akai. Momose looked for him, finally managing to find a metallic pod floating next to a wrecked Guardian Unit.
It was a Guardian Unit that was destroyed after the Sword Cannon exploded next to it.
This escape pod was new and was similar to the pod where they first found Jason.
Momose immediately went toward the pod and secured it. She then saw Akai was unconscious, but looked rather fine.
The second platoon thought everything was over now and they could return home, but they soon heard a loud rumbling sound was nearing them. It was the sound of hundreds of wings flapping together.
A huge shadow soon overwhelmed them from behind.
They slowly looked behind...
…Only to see the colossal dragon with hundreds of grotesque wings and hundreds of thousands of eyes all over its body.
All of it eyes stared down at them, looking very furious .
Soon, hundreds of thousands of crimson beams fell upon the Second Platoon from the above like rain.
