New Upgrades!

Chapter 55 — New Upgrades!

"Ugh, I wanna die!"

"This lecture is too inhumane!"

"What about our human rights, huh!?"

"I don't have any energy to continue…!"

"Fuck, who in the hell offered this demon to give lessons to us…!?"

At this moment, some of the cadets were angry while the others were just gloomy and exhausted.

Five days!

The 'lecture' done by Jason lasted for a total of five whole days!

And during this time, other mandatory lessons were not temporarily allowed except for Jason's special lecture.

For the cadets, it was the most exhausting and dreadful five days they've had in their entire life.

As such, they named these special five days as Hell Week.

They've even crowned Jason as Demon Instructor. His ruthlessness and strictness were just that harsh.

Hell Week was a simple but effective educational plan. It was all about piloting and piloting in myriad changes of situations and enemies.

Due to Jason's request, the Virtual Training Facility was transformed to allow every simulation room to connect with each other. At the same time, it was updated with the new function of self-creation of situations.

From that now on, a large-scale virtual battle occured. Every cadet piloted their Guardian Knights to defeat a Gauna.

And that Gauna was controlled by Jason.

Yes, Jason wasn't using a Guardian Knight, but a special Gauna. A Gauna that can change into different types!

The cadets constantly fought against the ever changing Gauna for five days!

In the Mecha Vs Alien virtual game, Jason also had some fair share of experience when it comes to controlling an Alien.

After all, for him to become the best pilot, he needed to understand the alien race and devise some countermeasures.

And oddly enough, the alien race in that virtual game was somehow similar to the Gauna Race…

While ruthlessly slaughtering the inexperienced cadets, Jason would physically and verbally point out their problems to them when it comes to their cooperation and skills.

He repeatedly told them to not just develop cooperation and trust between their own squads, but also everyone in the battlefield.

After the end of the simulation, Jason would then quickly teach them in the classroom about strategies and techniques he knew.

And the most important thing he taught them was to always remain calm even in the face of death. To never fear, but to be calm in danger.

There was only a short period of time to rest. After that, they will then do another simulation to practice what they learned in battle.

Battle experience.

And quick adaptability.

Those traits were everything when it comes to piloting.

That's why Jason was brutal to them when it came to the simulation. He had them experience every possible situation in a battlefield to allow them to learn about quick adaptability.

He also ruthlessly and mercilessly beat them down as many types of Gauna to increase their battle experience.

As a result, Jason saw the cadets showing significant changes and improvements in their fundamentals. Although it wasn't that dramatic since it was just five days, Jason hoped this Hell Week would serve as the foundation for the cadets becoming skilled pilots.

That's why Jason didn't bother with their complaints.

Even though the cadets were full of complaints at the beginning, they were soon excited to feel themselves changing to become better.

On the last day, Jason taught the cadets as usual.

When the lecture finally ended when it turned dark, the cadets began to rejoice for being able to survive.

They felt a sense of accomplishment.

Jason then commanded every Cadet to gather in front of him since he had something to say.

"Before I leave, I'll remind you not to get completely fixated with my teachings. Innovate upon it, don't follow me, but think in your own ways."

"And I hope you will manage to share my lessons and your own experiences to the future generations."

The cadets started clapping their hands, feeling a little emotional since they managed to persevere until the end.

But Jason's next words caused them to curse profoundly.

"Don't cry on me now. There's still more things left for me to teach you cadets. So please wait for the next special Hell Week."

Sidonia | Day 290.

Jason was called by his friend who now started to keep secrets from him. It was none other than Sasaki. He had heard that Rokurome was finally upgraded.

It made him very curious.

"Do you know anything about Rokurome's new upgrades, Mr. Alien?"

⟨ Please see it for yourself, Host. It's quite amazing I must say. ⟩

"Even you are now keeping secrets from me…" Jason couldn't help but grumble inwardly.

They were testing his patience!

Only he was kept alone in the dark. He didn't know anything about the upgrades of Rokurome.

He had some guesses over it, which only further highlighted his curiosity.

Jason soon arrived at the newly built headquarters of Big Star Corporation.

It was a huge towering white skyscraper that reached the sky with many huge warehouses around the area.

All of it belonged to Big Star Corporation!

Jason saw the newly made symbol of the Big Star Corporation.

A symbol of a rising white star.

'Hmm, at least they did a good job when designing the symbol,' Jason complimented as he found it pleasant to the eyes.

"There you are, Jason!" Sasaki waved at him while standing at the entrance. "How do you like the main headquarters of the company? It belongs to you in-name, after all."

"I like how tall it is," Jason smiled while approaching her. "The symbol too."

"Glad you liked it. I designed both with the help of the others."

Jason nodded in response.

"Well, anyways, did you know the skyscraper is just a front? The real stuff of the corporation is underneath."

"Underground level?"

"Yes, we've created a wide and deep underground with several floors. It will be the place where every top-secret technology will be created."

"I see," Jason nodded again.

"Follow me, I'll show you to your dear partner."

"Then let's go quickly! Do you know how much I missed Rokurome?" Jason left her behind.

"I know, I know…. Wait! Do you even know the way?" Sasaki chased after him.

Jason didn't stop his feet, and entered the building.

"Hurry up! Lead the way for me."

Sasaki shook her head, finally managing to catch up to him.

Underground | 2:11 PM.

Entering a large secret elevator that headed to the underground, Jason and Sasaki soon arrived at a private workshop.

As soon as the elevator opened, Jason was immediately greeted by Rokurome's large face.

Jason then saw the changes that happened with Rokurome.

He saw Its body shining more brightly and appearing much more bulkier. There were now two black spheres embedded on its upper head, two upper shoulders, and two lower legs.

Jason looked at Sasaki with sparkling eyes that looked very excited and eager.

"So what's the new upgrades? Care to explain?"

Sasaki nodded her head, and slowly began to explain.

"There are many changes that happened because of the upgrades, of course."

"First, the inner frame is now replaced by the changeable frame. Essentially, it is a new type of inner frame that incorporates all Guardian Knight's vital mechanisms, the cockpit, the reactors, actuators, and the control systems. This frame is completely separated from the thrusters, armor, weapons, silver threads, and sensors. This changeable frame allows for increased maneuverability, fluidity of movements, better energy efficiency, as well as easier repair, maintenance, and modifications of Guardian Knight."

"We change the inner frame to the changeable frame because your unique ability is too overpowering. It made the previous inner and outer frame unrepairable. And to better withstand your unique ability, we developed a new alloy that is better and much durable than the previous alloy we used. It is a bit heavier, but very sturdy. We've used it on both the changeable frame and armor frame."

"As for the internal system, there has been changes according to Mr. Alien's suggestions."

"Huh, I didn't know that," Jason tilted his head.

"It was sent by Mr. Alien through a computer message using its own account."

"Ah, I see…" Jason then inwardly lectured Mr. Alien.

"According to his ideas, I made a new unique system called Triangular Circuit System. I don't know what its purpose is really about, so ask Mr. Alien."

At those words, Mr. Alien spoke inside his head.

⟨ It's the combination of your power system with Rokurome. Your crystal and the two particle reactors will synchronize when activated. At the same time, your circuits will merge with Rokurome's Silver Strand Tissue, forming a neurological pathway within Rokurome, allowing you to effectively unleash your own power through the use of Rokurome. Not only can you apply my mechanical force, you can also use your own power system. And with three reactors, it will be powerful enough to even break Rokurome. This mode needs to be activated with parasitism. ⟩

⟨ However, it will be incomplete as your own circuit is not perfect yet. ⟩

A powerful trump card!

Jason thought of only using this move as the last resort.

"As for those large spheres embedded on Rokurome's body, those are the prototype of H-Field Generator. It is capable of creating a barrier to block energy attacks, but not physical attacks since its still a prototype."

"So you actually managed to create it…" Jason was quite stunned.

"I've managed to create it with the help of Mr. Alien. However, it's still a prototype that has many problems like using too much energy or even exploding when overheated."

Jason nodded in understanding.

"What about the external weapons? Is there a new sword cannon?"

"Of course. Not only that, we've made more prototype weapons that don't have many problems."
