Chapter 64 — Cross Link System.

"Mr. Alien, why do you want this scan machine that shows the wavelength and level of the brain? Furthermore, I don't understand why you fixed the original wavelength to be the same as yours."

In the lab, Yure questioned the white-haired Jason. He handed her the blueprint to create the machine.

If you observed the blueprint, the machine resembled a capsule or like those full body x-ray machines.

"This machine is needed for the empathier test, which is a necessary process for the new system I'm developing," Mr. Alien explained patiently, "This is the first step to tap into the power of the brain."

"What's that empathier test about?" Yure asked curiously.

"Empathy is part of being human, but do you really understand it?" Mr. Alien inquired with a serious look.

"Of course! Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another."

"That's correct. However, what if we could go beyond just merely sharing the feelings?" Mr. Alien grinned, "What if we could share the skills and experience with another?"

Yure slowly widened her eyes in understanding.

"Don't tell me…"

Mr. Alien smiled, "Indeed, I plan on using the empathy of humans to its greatest potential."

"That is the goal of the Cross Link System I am creating now. By linking, it enables two pilots to share the experience, ability, and skills. As such, imagine if someone could link with Jason."

"Another monster would be born, but due to the harsh requirements, it will only work if the two pilots empathier level and brain wavelength are identical, or else they would simply fail."

Yure was amazed.

"Your idea is splendid. This kind of concept holds immense potential."

Mr Alien nodded, "This is just the first step of mankind into the territory of the supernatural brain."

Yure agreed to create the brain scanning machine. After two weeks, she managed to create it.

As such, the two of them began to find a suitable candidate to link with Jason's wavelength.

They needed to find the pilot with near identical wavelength as Jason. And it also needs to have a high level empathier level.

Mr. Alien and Yure performed scans on different kinds of pilots before they successfully found the right candidate.

It was Honoka En, one of the Honoka Sisters.

Although they were clones, it doesn't mean they were born with the same wavelength and empathier level. In fact, there were some differences.

En became the Link Partner of white-haired Jason.

And using two prototype Link Cockpits, they started to experiment using the Cross Link System.

Soon, white-haired Jason managed to gather a lot of useful datas to improve the System.

The Cross Link System consisted of three parts, the cockpit, the neuro ring, and the crystal gem.

In the black space, Jason sat cross-legged in front of two rotating cores that throbbed like a heart.

One was gluttonous; the other wrathful.

The cores slowly turned into speckless of sand, slowly drifting toward Jason's body, being gradually absorbed.

After who knows how much time actually flew passed, the cores suddenly vanished and were absorbed.

Jason opened his eyes, emitting sharp gleaming cold light.

Finally, he had completely managed to deal with the drawbacks of using the power of the SINS. Unless Jason was forcefully pushed to use them to the limit again, there shouldn't be any problem with using some of its powers.

"It's time to return."

During Jason's stay here, Mr. Alien was always reporting the situation outside for him, so he didn't miss anything that much about Sidonia.

Moreover, he also knew about the development of the new version of Rokurome.

"Mr. Alien, let's switch."

Jason closed his eyes. And when he opened it, he now found himself looking at a gigantic mecha.

The mecha's two sharp eyes glowed for a second upon sensing Jason's awakening from his slumber.

"Rokurome…" Jason smiled happily after seeing the new appearance of his partner.

Unit 666, Micro Strand Type Silver Thread Tissue Guardian Knight Type—Demon Knight, Rokurome.

It looked larger and more imposing than ever before. Its crimson and black external frame now had the rims coated in golden colour. Also, it appeared sleeker in design and performance.

Moreover, there were two large shield-like compartments, one at the left shoulder and one at the right shoulder. The left shield compartment could unite with the left arm of Rokurome to use as a shield during the Cross Link System, while the right shield compartment goes to the back and deploys wings lined with 'crystal scales'.

The Strand Type Tissue was also further optimized to become the Micro Silver Strand Tissue. This idea was from Mr. Alien, who added his own insights into it secretly. It was impossible in the past, but with the rapid developments, Sidonia now had the machine that had perfect precision to mold the silver tissues into tiny strands the width of a hair, but with a tensile strength to lift a Gauna with ease.

The end result was Rokurome's muscular structure now being entirely made out of hundreds of strand type silver tissues, which were in turn made out of thousands upon thousands of micro silver strand tissues, giving Rokurome enough power to lift a few hundreds of Guardian Knights at a time if they were bundled together.

Rokurome now was a six armed demon from hell.

Like Ashura from ancient mythology.

It had two main arms and four sub-arms at the back; two secondary arms, and two tertiary arms connected to the main back unit thrusters that can move with simple commands. Jason could use it easily and freely when using Parasitism.

Rokurome had leg thrusters, arm thrusters, and thrusters mounted below the two shield compartments below the shoulder.

A large crimson wing could also unfold from the back for the Cross Link System. It was made out of crystal gems moulded in the shape of scales, allowing it to release particles when charged, increasing the output and speed. It could also cut through the placenta body with ease.

Aside from the wings on the back, thin wings would also deploy from the shoulders, legs, and head. The two crimson facial compartments would open as well, revealing a mechanical mouth that could shoot energycannon.

And as previously mentioned, crystal gems were an artificial type of glass that had the best property to conduct and condense particles into a single point without being wasteful.

Inside the inner frame, two fusion reactors were present. They were the much smaller and super efficient fusion reactors.

The external frames were now made out of a new type of nanoskin Guardianite Alloy that was capable of repairing itself.

Nanoskin was made out of ultra high density micro nanobots that was made out of extremely compressed alloys. Only Rokurome had this new alloy because of how difficult and costly it took to build. It was able to repair damage, but if a limb was torn, it would be impossible to repair from it.

It was even built with a supercomputer that handled the computer system and other things. It also housed an intelligent Artificial Intelligence that was responsible to assist the user. At the same time, it was the one responsible for making the Cross Link System work. Without this supercomputer, it would have been impossible to transmit the thoughts a few nanoseconds into the future.

The Cross Link System enabled two pilots to share experiences, predictions, abilities, and skills. At best, the Linkaged System could instantly turn a complete novice with no prior experience, permanently transforming them into a pilot with exceptional skill.

In addition, in the linked state, the predictive capabilities were also enhanced. Once Rokurome was exposed to the Cross Link System, via the crystal scales, it could be greatly enhanced in terms of performance and combat ability.

However, this feature was only a temporary transformation. Should the system transmit thoughts even a nano-second too late, the entire system would cease to work.

To combat this, the supercomputer and Artificial Intelligence sends the thoughts at least a nano-second into the future to prevent time lag.

It was built loosely based on Quantum Mechanics to build this strange phenomenon, allowing the pilots to even have the ability to see ahead of time.

There were two modes to the Cross Link System installed in Rokurome.

Link Destiny and Solo Link.

In Link Destiny, two pilots would connect with each other. And in Solo Link, the pilot would connect with the machine itself or artificial intelligence.
