Orphanage Visit

Rahul's POV

"Ughhhh, man....why is she being so difficult?" I grunted while throwing the paperweight on my table across my desk. I really can't understand her. What is her problem anyway? She just doesn't want to bow in front of me. Forget bowing, she doesn't even look at me. The only time she talks to me is when I ask her question regarding the work that I gave her. That too she answers me without sparing a glance at me. All her f*cking answers are short and to the point. She always gives me a blank face. I tried everything to make her look at me but all went in vain. I even tried humiliating her and insulting her; hoping that she would glare at me. But nothing worked. I was ok with her throwing daggers at me with her constant glares but her silence is just annoying the hell out of me. And above all that I challenged to make her fall for me but here she is not even looking at me. Isn't that just f*cking great!

But throughout this week, I have noticed a lot about her. She is an introvert and most of the time I have caught her having lunch in her cabin all alone. She never talks to any of my staffs unless there is an emergency. Does she even have friends? Well, why do I even care? That is none of my business. My only aim is to get my revenge on the women who have humiliated and hurt my ton of an age. She has to pay for her deeds and I will make sure that that happens.* smirk*

*Ring....* Ring...* I came out of my chain of thoughts when I heard my phone ringing. I glanced at my phone screen and groaned. There was already 13 miss calls. I slide the green icon and answered the call.

" Yess....Mom..." I said while sighing.

" Good morning to you too, beta( son)" mom said in her stern voice. Trust me. If she is speaking sternly, it means I am in deep shit.

" Sorry, mom. I didn't intend to ignore your calls. I was just....busy with my work " I said in an apological tone.

" Rahul...I didn't expect this from you. I thought you are more matured and responsible for your age. How could you forget about the orphanage visit that I mentioned yesterday?" she said and sighed deeply.

Shit...I totally forgot about it.

I had to visit Alamanda Orphanage today. Every year my family visits the orphanage without fail. My mom loves to give funds to orphanages and meet the kids at the orphanage. She says that doing so gives her peace and she also loves talking to the kids over there and the same goes to my dad. But I don't have time for all these bullshits and neither did they interest me anyways. Since my parents recently went to India to meet my grandma, so that leaves me to visit the orphanage. I really hate going there but don't ask me why.

" Please don't stress yourself, mom. Everything will be taken under care. I just have a little unsettled work. It will be over in a minute or two" I assured my mom.

" I can't believe that you are working even during weekends? Take rest, Rahul. Don't stress yourself too much. At the end of the day, your health is more important. Don't compromise your health for your work" she said worriedly.

" Mom don't worry. I am taking care of myself. Please don't get unduly worried and I am not a child mom. I am a grown-up man " I said with pride.

" Man or child, you will always be my baby. I will accept you're grown up once you grow older than me " she said while chuckling.

" Nice come back mom," I said in a sarcastic way.

" Anyways, don't stress yourself about the visit mom. I will be there in a while" I said and hung the call.

Phew, that was close.

Soon I wrapped up all my pending work and called Kapil. He was already waiting for me at the parking lot. " Alamanda Orphanage," I said sternly and Kapil hit the accelerator obeying me. I reached orphanage after 30 minutes and asked Kapil to wait for me outside the orphanage.

As I entered the orphanage, I was greeted by a lady who was around my mom's age " Good morning Sir. My name is Annie Wilson. I am the person in charge of this orphanage. We were informed about your arrival beforehand" I gave her a nod and said " Actually Ms Annie I am running late for something. So just tell me where do I have to sign to complete the formalities. I don't have time for all this b*llshits"

She was a bit taken aback by my rude behaviour but do I even care. Not in a thousand years. Suddenly I heard someone calling her from the office of the orphanage. " Excuse me, sir. I think I have a call to attend. I will be right back in a minute with your papers" she said and made her way into the office.

Great! She just left me standing here all alone. Like what the hell man! Does she even know how to treat a freaking billionaire? Urghhhhh.....this place is just annoying the hell out of me.

Suddenly something hit me from my back, breaking me from my chain of thoughts. WTF. I was so angry by now. I turned around to see the thing that hit me. It was a basketball and was lying near my foot. Urghhh....remind me why I am here in the first place. A boy around 7 years old ran towards me with a worried look.

" Uncle, I am sorry. I didn't mean to hit you" he said while looking down. I glared at him with a hard look and he started to sob. Omg, now he is crying. Shit! What do I now? I kneeled down to his height, picked up his ball and gave it to him. " Here you go. Be careful next time" I said in a neutral tone. I can't believe that I actually said that. If it was someone else I would have given them a piece of my mind. Since he was just a kid, I decided to let it go. He took the ball from me happily and showed me his pearl-like teeth while grinning. " Thank you uncle," he said and pecked my cheek. Then, he ran away leaving me stunned. I chuckled and straighten myself while getting up.

When I turned in front of the sight in front me shocked me to the core.
