Don't Leave me

It was almost midnight when I heard the doorbell ring. Who could it be so late at night? I peeped through the eye hole to see Fred with someone on his arm. As I was watching him, the bell burst into a few more rings.

"Calm down, I am opening," I said a little loudly for Fred to hear.

As I opened the door, I saw Fred half-carrying Robbie over his shoulder.

"Yo grandpa, we have reached," Fred said, jerking Robbie, who looked dead drunk.

I quickly put my arms around Robbie's other free arm to support him. My nose was assaulted by a strong smell of alcohol. It was strong enough to get you intoxicated. I held him around the waist and found that his hands and legs were numb. He looked half asleep.

"Tony..." I heard him murmur.

"That's all he's been saying ever since collapsing after getting drunk," Fred grumbled, "That's why I carried him here."

"Do you know why was he drinking in the first place?" I inquired, wondering if he had a row with his father.

"Nope. He appeared out of nowhere and kept ordering drinks until he collapsed. I feel like he took my old man's restaurant for a bar and me as his babysitter," Fred complained, pouting like a kid.

I laughed, seeing his child-like expression. It is unbelievable that such a huge-built man can actually act like a kid. But then again, he was only 23 years old and lived a pampered life. It would have been odd had he acted all adult and mature.

We laid Robbie on the couch, his brows were still creased, and his face was twisted in a troubled expression.

"What is up with this, old man? He is always so high and mighty. How come he looks like a shriveled-up prawn?" Fred frowned, eyeing Robbie's miserable state.

"Maybe, he had some family issue. You know how rich families work," I shrugged.

"Hey, don't say that," Fred said, his head hung, looking a little embarrassed.

I instantly regretted my words. I completely forgot that Fred belonged to the so-called rich families too, and my careless words might have indirectly pointed at him.

"Sorry! I wasn't trying to demean you or your family," I hastily said, putting a hand on his shoulder.

Fred gave a non-committal shrug and said in a moody tone, "Take care of this uncle and tell him to go to the bar next time. Thanks to him, I didn't get to check my accounts."

"Yes," I smiled

He returned my smile and waved me good night as he left, shutting the door behind him. I sighed. Sometimes my mouth can really hurt others. I should be more mindful of what I am saying.

"Tony..." I heard Robbie mumble again.

I can't help feeling a little tickle in my stomach on hearing my name being mumbled by Robbie unconsciously. I quietly took his shoes off, pulled off his coat, and loosened his tie for him to have a better sleep. While doing all this, I can't help but imagine him drinking dressed in formal attire. It felt weird to even think about that scenario.

"Tony...don't leave me..." he mumbled again.

I looked at his face, which was still twisted in a troubled expression. Unconsciously, I stretched out my hand and smoothened his creased eyebrow. Feeling his smooth olive skin on my palms after so long, I kind of felt nostalgic. Unintentionally, my fingers started to trace his facial features, reaching for his hairline, which was covered in a thin line of sweat, then his thick shapely eyebrow, his beautiful petal shaped eyes, his long black eyelashes, his hooked smooth nose, and finally, his perfectly shaped thin pink lips. As I traced his lips, my heart suddenly started beating fast. I had the sudden reckless desire to place my lips over those soft, slightly parted pink lips. Robbie mumbled something again, making me feel the softness on my fingers, and I immediately moved my hands away.

A lot has happened between us over the past two months. I would have never imagined Robbie to be back in my life, and even more so that he would acknowledge his wrongdoings and want me back in his life. I was, and I am still not sure how much of his words were true, but somewhere deep down, I felt like I could trust him this time. If he is being sincere, then my son would not have to live deprived of his father's love and will be able to enjoy the protection and shelter of his father. I guess even my life will get better if I have my bonded Alpha beside me.

I sneakily took a look at Robbie's face again. Even after eight years, this guy still looks as handsome as he looked when he was 17. I sat down on the floor, leaning on the couch, looking at Robbie softly snoring as he drifted to slumber. His movement made his hand being thrown out of the couch's side, hanging down loosely. I saw his pretty hands with long slender fingers, almost touching the floor. In a moment's impulse, I held it and slowly intertwined my finger with his. Like how a person feels shy the first time touching their lover's hand, I somehow felt the same as a slight red tinge came over my neck and cheeks. It felt almost laughable to feel so when I went ahead and had a kid with this guy.

I brought my knees together and placed my cheek over it, looking at our linked hands and then the words which I had not said to him even when he rejected me, seemed to flow out of my mouth as if I couldn't hold them back,

"Robbie, don't leave me!"
