Chapter 11: Married To

Trying to look through the other documents with widened eyes, she chanted in her heart repeatedly, wishing she had erred, wishing that what she was seeing was a mistake.

Her people all fell silent, and no one dared to even breathe. They had never seen Dracon so agitated before. She looked so enraged that she could spit fire at any time. She was more than angry, and her heavy breathing indicated that she would eat anyone at any time.

After viewing the file, they did not know why she had such an atypical reaction, but they knew it was not a happy one. The other looked over at the person who had handed over the file seeming like they were asking with their eyes what was in the file.

This person was equally curious as she was the one who had done the investigation. However, it had been done in cyphers, and the information was not coming from their sources. Instead, it came from an outside source. In order to avoid information being stolen, each underworld organization has specific codes it uses for communication. Every country's underworld and government had a special code language code that was only known to the leaders.

She shrugged her shoulders, indicating that she also did not have any idea about what they were asking about, she was equally as curious and wanted so badly to know what had made their leader that way. The others carried on about their business and forgot about the ordeal. They stopped being nosy. This was their leader's affair and as much as they wanted to find out, they knew it was not in their place to inquire about it.

Erica closed the file and walked out of the surveillance room, her eyes all red with anger.

Erica closed the document and made her way outside. She was so angry that smoke was coming out of her nose.

Of all people it had to be him her most dreadful nightmare, the man she loathed with all her heart.

He was her arch-enemy, the man she always felt like killing every time she had to deal with him.

Aubert was the most feared man by the lawbreakers and the most beloved of the citizens.

Didn't father know that he was said to be a gay man, a man that is always surrounded by his fellow men and had his whole team made up of men, A single 32-year-old who was always surrounded by men she did not believe it's because he had some sort of sickness she was sure he was that way? After all, he was gay?

" Well maybe that is why father wanted me to get married to him he might have known that he was not a straight man, phew if I don't have to be his wife in real life then it won't be so difficult for me to accept being in a marriage with the unsightly duckling humph the nerve of him to run away when he saw me at the hospital, huh he must be still scared of me, humph the nerve he's got to play me around with that text,'

'I might not remember what I am missing but I am sure I never served him my cooking on my own accord.'

'Humph! The warthog always takes away my business and clients, and always conspires against me, so whenever I manufacture a new line of armaments he makes sure that he steals money from me by pretending to need a batch of them to inspect them. And I won't get them back. So I'll show him what stealing feels like, hahaha,' she laughed evilly, making all her subordinates look at her with their hearts on fire. They also prayed that their boss would not lose her mind.

Erica was not in the mood to stay there any longer, so she returned to her house. She had a lot to do in preparation for meeting Aubert, but cooking was not one of them. There was no way she was willing to prepare food for him, in his dreams!'

"Linda come with me to my room," she called out while making her way inside her room and heading straight to her walk-in closet.

Erica stood there dumbfounded. There were not a single ladies' clothes in her closet except her pants. Even her pyjamas were unisex.

"Linda, I have no female clothes, won't it be awkward if I wear male clothes and take on Dracon's persona when meeting with Aubert when he knows that I am a female?" asked Erica looking all conflicted. Her ring finger pressed against her mouth pouting.

Linda looked at Erica's reaction and she could not help but smile. Erica was finally acting like a lady, fussing about what to wear when she had always opted for all-black outfits for Dracon's persona.

She forgot that Linda knew she was a female, but she had never felt awkward dressing and talking as Dracon with her.

"Ah leave it, why am I even bothering? He is my arch-enemy. It would be even better if I could piss him off in my male persona." Erica made her way to her bed after she said those words.

No, no, no! He is a guest, and also your future husband, and it will not be right if he meets you this way, will it?" Linda tried to convince her.

Erica threw herself on the bed. Just as Linda continued to debate what was right for her to do and what not, she heard soft snoring coming from Erica and knew she had fallen asleep. She had slept with her shoes on. Linda took off her shoes for her, tucked her safely into bed and caressed her small male bangs. " You have grown so fast. I know everything is so exhausting for you to take in, but I can rest assured now that you will be in good hands. There will be someone to help you overcome all the challenges. You won't be alone again, my love."

After tucking her in, Linda made her way outside after she had switched off all the lights in her room. She left one bedside lamp since Erica has always been afraid of darkness, because of the ordeal that happened at night leading to her parents' demise. She softly closed the door and walked away.
