The day soon came in to an end. It was almost midnight and the corridor was getting dinmer.
Ai and Aizhe were the only one passing through the huge corridor. Ai held tightly on to her hands and she was helping Aizhe with her walk. It felt heavy and tiring for Aizhe to walk at first but then slowly she got the balance.
Their laughter and cheerful conversation were echoing throughout the corridor and hallways.
Soon they returned to the room and Ai helped her sit down on the bed. She patted her head and smiled when she saw her closed eyes. She turned around and took out her bag from the side table. She was about to get her sandles from the corner but Aizhe stopped her suddenly.
"Ai sister, where are you going?" She asked in a sleepy manner. Her eyes were almost closed when Ai let her hands go and turned around.
"Oh, you are awake. I need to go and check the next ward. My baby.." She hesitated while holding her hands again.
"Oh, dont worry. I am fine. Where is Si?" She asked smiling. She was afraid to let go of Ai but she didn't want to keep her here all day.
"He left to discuss with the doctor about your health issues." She gulped, a habit she had when she lied. She didn't want to inform her of her brothers disastrous work. He held down way low and was probably wandering to his horrendous second work place right now. At the end of the day, a fleshy and no bones meat had came straight to the thundering lion's den, how could he let it go like that? She shook her head at her innocent yet chilly elder brother.
"Oh okay, then you can go! I will wait for Si." She had a bland expression but her eyes were clearly hesitant. She let go of Ai's warm hands and laid down carefully.
Ai glanced at her calmly and sighed. She was relucant to leave her at this state but she was compelled and helpless herself. She tucked Aizhe's legs and body to the comfy grey blanket and stood up to kiss her forehead.
"Take care, huh. I would have loved to stay with you tonight but Lu Jung is here and we have to take the baby home today too. Mom and Dad are waiting at home, I will visit you tomorrow, okay?" She inquired gloomily and apologetically.
"Don't worry Ai sister. I will take care of myself. I am not a kid." She smiled at her warmly. She tried to turn around but hissed at the pain on her lower hip and leg area.
Ai saw that and sadly smiled at her. She sat down next to her and held the sides of her bed. "Don't turn around too much. You will stay at ths hospital for two more weeks. You need rehabilitation for a long while. Please take care."
Hearing her words, Ai turned around almost immediately. Her eyes widened and she held on to Ai's hand in a protesting manner.
"What? Two more weeks. But sister, I don't like the hospitals. They make me feel sick. Can't I just recover at home?" She looked at Ai helplessly.
Ai looked at her and just when she was about to protest, a manly voice reached out to her.
"Ready, love?" Lu Jung sneaked behind her and a peck landed on her cheeks. Ai blushed and turned away from Aizhes curios gaze.
"What are you doing?" She playfully glared at him. Lu Jung noticed her shy demeanour and glanced away to look at Aizhe. When he saw her confused look, he smiled calmly.
"Hello, you must be my dear wife's savior. I am Lu Jung, her husband." Lu Jung forwarded his hands for a shake and Aizhe smiled at him immediately when she heard his introduction. They looked cite to her snd she loved how loving and caring they werr to each other. She also forwarded her slender hands.
Before their fingers could even touch, a chilly arctic wind passed through the room and everyone turned around to look at the intruder.
