As I looked at the corpse in baffling disbelieve the message popped up again.

I couldn't believe my eyes, had I just raised my level by four killing not only the creature which had dragged me down in this bottomless pit of a pond. But also by defeating whatever this horrific creature might have been?!

Quickly I looked at my status window curious of what this had done with my overall stats.

And as I did it appeared more that just my personal level had risen during the fight.

I carefully observed all my stats to see my dexterity and luck had improved quite a bit after gaining quite some levels.

"Here is to hope I made the right decision for my stats… As for my skills… I didn't even notice them leveling up during the fight… Well… to be fair I was kind of busy not trying to die… Oh well… let's take a look now that we have a breather."

Looking at each of my skills per separate section it became easier to see which had gained a level or even more. Within the Offensive skill section had risen from to . Curiously enough had also risen a level. Even had gained a level even though I did not remember using it during the fight.

"Wait… When did I gain this ability? E.V.E? Do you know more about this?"

But no reaction… "Guess I can just this new section while I'm at it." "."

I began observing the seemingly newly unlocked skill, but what I found more peculiar about this was the fact that the system or E.V.E. for that matter had not given notice of this during the battle for my life.

I couldn't believe my eyes, had I just gained the ability to combine skills into more destructive or even potentially better skills? Who would have thought that such an insane ordeal rewards me in the? Wanting to know more about this skill I quickly scanned through my other skills. And there it was.

Within the list of Defensive or better known as (passive) skills, I found what I was looking for on the bottom… But… Was this even a legitimate thing?! I mean…

Its level had already been maxed! What's up with that?!

As I asked myself these questions E.V.E. popped up in my head.

Having found out about my newly acquired skill only more questions popped up in my head, like; why was I granted this cheat skill? Who are "The System Administrators"? And not to forget, there are more beasts like the one I just defeated hanging on to dear life?!

They must think I'm crazy if they want me to confront all of them…
