Dark and Mysterious

YuHan Pov:

"Run!" I heard someone shout. I turned towards the direction of where the scream was coming from, the cave. A person slowly approaches ZiNuo and I.

"You with the sword, you must know what to do. There's a monster in there! The eyes were glowing yellow. I've never seen such a creature in the books about the mountains of the Yin Sect's. Please save us, I beg of you," the man begged on his knees. "Everyone that went in to scout in the cave's tunnels never came back to report to me. After a long period of time I heard a large growl and a monster with pitch black fur and yellow eyes staring at me. I gave him no chance to devour me. I ran out of the cave as quickly as I could-" his speech was ruined by huge stomps coming from the cave. "Everyone run!" the man shouted as he fled away from the mountains into the forest.

"We should get out of here," ZiNuo said as he grabbed my hand. We were about to run away until a pair of glowing yellow eyes stared at us. Other people that haven't fled the scene were frozen in place. "I guess it's too late," ZiNuo mumbled. The monster appeared to be half as tall as the mountain cave opening. The monster started to use it's claws, wiping everything in their way. ZiNuo and I ran and hid behind a tree.

"You know this won't work long term right?" I said as I stared at ZiNuo, who was looking at the monster, who was stomping on people.

"Shhh...I haven't seen such a huge black lion with such a large amount of demonic magic before," ZiNuo said as he observed the monster. The ground was left with huge puddles of blood and corpses lying on the ground. ZiNuo accidently moved, making noises that caught the monster's attention.

"You're going to get us killed," I said.

"I hear you humans. What do you want from my cave?" the monster spoke. ZiNuo slowly walked out to the open where the monster could see him.

"We don't want anything to do with you, but rather let us leave."

"Foolish human, you think you can negotiate with me on my terrority. For whom to have taken a step into my territory would be ripped into shreds," the monster spoke.

"Watch out!" I shouted as the monster tried to attack ZiNuo. I ran with every bit of energy and grabbed ZiNuo out of there. "You want to die?" I asked.

"No, that attack was out of nowhere, how was I supposed to know."

"Monsters do not negotiate with anyone, remember that," I said before I drew out my sword.

"We may have entered your territory, but how should we know it was yours?" YuHan questioned the monster.

"Those foolish Yin Sect members, didn't warn you?" the monster spoke. "I feel like it was intentional that they led you into this part of the forest. The only part of the forest where I roam is where they happen to want some weaklings like you to disturb my slumber."

"Since you don't want to negotiate, do you want a worthy fight?" I said as I swung my sword, pointing at the beast.

"Easy for you to say, but easier for me to slash your throat open, and you'll feel pain all the way till your very last breath," the beast said as he started to attack the air. I jumped to dodge each attack from the beast. I jumped onto the beast's body and stood on top of his head. ZiNuo on the other hand casted a sealing spell around the beast. I realized what ZiNuo was doing so I quickly jumped off of the beast's head. ZiNuo sealed the beast in a cage that shrunk the beast into a tiny lion, that no one would fear.

"Perhaps you should have asked for my name before you started to attack me," I commented as I picked up the cage the beast was in.

"What have you done?" the beast shouted.

"I suppose that was easy," ZiNuo said, running towards me with a smile.

"White clothes, Bai Sect disciple?" the beast asked.

"To be exact, you were fighting with the second son of the Bai Sect," ZiNuo added. I felt the sudden urge to cough, without a cloth in my hand, I coughed onto my sleeves. ZiNuo looked at me and glanced at my sleeves. "Why are you coughing out blood? You said you were okay, are you sure you're fine?"

"I'm fine," I spoke trying to hide the fact I used my body to the max. Then I had another sudden urge to cough. I coughed onto my sleeves once again. This time ZiNuo grabbed my hand.

"You're not fine, don't act all tough talking to me. You're coughing out blood and your skin complexion is more pale than yesterday. We have to get you treated as soon as possible."

"I said I'm fine," I said while shaking the grip he had on my hand, before I walked off.

"You know you shouldn't just ignore coughs with blood," ZiNuo shouted.

"Sorry to interrupt your couple fight, but you should really let me go so I can do my job," the beast said.

"What job do you have?" ZiNuo questioned the beast.

"I was assigned to guard what holds in the cave. The master would not be happy if I was captured by two guys that happen to fight like a married couple," the beast said with annoyance.

"First of all, YuHan and I are not married or have any type of relationship you're thinking of. Second of all, me and him are just friends."

"Well if you let me go the master would be happy and everything will be solved," the beast said. I looked at the two who were arguing.

"Tell us who your master is," I spoke.

"I believe I only remember what he looks like, but not his name. It's been years since he has visited me. It feels like a nap, but it could have been over 500 years. He wore a black outer layer, complemented by white patterns, he looked like a mere mortal, but sensing his power, he was an ascended god. I remember the blurs of his smile with this lady who also took care of me. He looked so happy till the day he decided to leave it up to me to protect something he has placed in the cave. He didn't even smile at me when he left. All I saw was a pair of hollow eyes and what felt like an empty soul."

"He sounds like a father figure," ZiNuo commented, looking down and seemingly a bit sad.

"Wouldn't call him my dad, but he did raise me. Anyways, you should let me guard the cave before those sneaky Yin sect members realize. They know what I'm guarding and they want it. If I'm not at the cave every second, they'll take everything that I guarded for years. My master will be mad."

"How are we supposed to know if you're not lying-," ZiNuo said before he heard the bushes nearby rustling.

"They are here, now let me out!" the beast shouted.

"What does my sect want with what you're guarding," ZiNuo asked.

"You're a Yin sect member?" the beast asked in shock.

"No time for the small talk, get your weapon out," I spoke as I drew my sword out. I could see the glowing golden yellow needles that flew out from ZiNuo's hands, hitting running dark figures. A group of them came out of the shadows and surrounded us. Right in front of us were people dressed in black clothes and a mask covering their face.

They all had swords pointed towards us, "Drop your sword!" one of them shouted.

"What makes you think I need a sword," ZiNuo said as he summoned magic needles that hit everyone. "A bit of poison in your system, will be fine right?" he smirked.

"Yin Gongzi," one of them whispered as his eyes widened.

"How do you happen to know what Sect I'm from?" ZiNou asked. Before the masked men could respond YuHan swung his sword towards them. His sword pierce through one of the masked men.

"Yin Gongzi, keep one of them alive," I whispered as he passed ZiNuo and continued to fight. ZiNuo got close to one of the masked men who was unguarded and knocked him out with his hand. I finished fighting and bodies were laying on the ground. When I walked over to ZiNuo, I saw the body in ZiNuo's hands vanish into black smoke. I turned around to see all the dead bodies lying on the ground vanishing into black smoke. My eyes widened, "How?" as I walked closer to ZiNuo. My breathing was getting worse, short and unbearable. I thought I was capable of handling a few people. My vision was blurring and I lost my balance, I felt my body drop onto the ground. My vision went back to clear then back to a blur, it went on for a couple of seconds till I was able to see clearly again. I slowly got myself up and looked up to see a figure running towards me.
