Cousin Likes Stirring Up Trouble

YuHan Pov:

"Is my dear old cousin on a date with someone special?" the man smirked. What is he doing here? He's dressed in white with light green-colored patterning.

"What do you want, YiHan?" I asked.

"I heard from a little bird that my cousin is here to visit. I didn't know that you brought someone else with you. It's a rare occasion that my cousin brings someone else with him, especially when it is a pretty young man. What's your name, young man?" YiHan turned his head, facing ZiNuo.

"Call me Mo gongzi."

"Oh, well, welcome to my hometown, Mo gongzi," YiHan smiled. What is he planning to do this time?

YiHan got closer to me and whispered, "You should have told me that you made a pretty friend like him. He has a very attractive face. You don't mind if I make a move on him, right?"

"How dare you-"

"Anything to win," he cuts me off and smirks. "Also seems like you've got yourself a leaf crown, close enough to a flower crown. I bet you were all flustered when Mo gongzi gave it to you," he said loudly for ZiNuo to hear.

"Flower crown?" ZiNuo asked while looking at me with a confused face.

"Well, see you soon at dinner, Mo gongzi," YiHan winked at ZiNuo and ran away.

"Was that your cousin?" ZiNuo ate another spoonful of herbal jelly.

"Yeah," I sighed before taking gulps of tea.

"What's up with the leaf crown and the flower crown? Don't tell me you want a flower crown from me instead of a leaf crown."

"No, it's not that-"

"I get what you mean. I'll make you a flower crown." You're dumb, ZiNuo. He doesn't even know what a flower crown means here.

"Stay away from YiHan. I think he has bad intentions, and don't let him get into your head."

"If you say so. I will stay away from him as much as possible. You don't need to worry about me." I waited for ZiNuo to finish his herbal jelly before paying and leaving.

We visited countless shops before we both got tired and decided to go back to the Su Sect residence. The guards greeted us, "Welcome back. Master Su told us to inform the two of you that dinner is ready and you should head to the dining room."

"Thank you for the information. We will be heading there now," I answered. ZiNuo and I walked to the dining room. A servant opened the door and guided us to our seats. The dining room is smaller than the dining hall where I would usually eat. ZiNuo sat next to me on my left while YiHan sat on my right.

"Xiao Han, how was your trip around the town?" uncle Su asked as he placed some leafy greens into my bowl.

"It was fun like the old times. I got to bring my friend to the places that I enjoyed a lot, whether if I enjoyed it when I was younger or older."

"That's good. So Mo gongzi, how do you feel about the town here?"

"In all honesty, I think that this town is more beautiful than the capital. I especially like how the town is surrounded by a whole bamboo forest instead of walls of stone. The shops and scenery are truly captivating to one's eyes."

"Wow, I would never expect someone to compliment my hometown like this. Thank you," uncle Su smiled as he picked up a chicken leg and placed it into ZiNuo's bowl.

"If you don't mind, you can come with me and go to my favorite places. After all, I have lived here my entire life and know it better than YuHan." YiHan stared at ZiNuo, anticipating his response.

"YuHan said he has something to show me tomorrow. So maybe another time?" When did I say that?

"Okay, you can tell me when you are free," YiHan smiled. "I almost forgot something important. YuHan, don't you have a fiancee?" ZiNuo looked at me with one eyebrow raised. He's going to tease me about this.

"I do." But I plan to cancel this engagement myself when I get to the Su Sect.

"Tell us about her, I'm pretty sure Mo gongzi, my father, and I are quite interested in what you might say."

"She's Feng Sect's second eldest child."

"She's just like you, the second-born," YiHan said before taking a bite of his rice.

"My mother and father said she's quite intelligent and kind."

"I also heard from some people that she's quite beautiful too. Are you going to give her your mother's hairpin as an engagement gift?" YiHan added on.

"None of your business, YiHan."

"YuHan, you are one lucky person," uncle SU smiled. Lucky or not, I don't intend to marry someone that I don't like. I looked at ZiNuo. He seemed a bit down, his face frowning.

"Congrats, YuHan," ZiNuo smiled. That smile didn't seem genuine. Why is he trying to force a smile? "Oh, master Su, do you perhaps have any good wine?"

"Mo gongzi, you asked the right person. I have a lot of good wine stored in my wine room. I'll tell one of the servants to get us a jug."

"Thanks, master Su," ZiNuo smiles. The dinner continued, but ZiNuo wasn't talking to me. Instead, YiHan and ZiNuo were joking around and laughing as I ate my meal in silence. I dismissed myself after being stuck in awkward silence. I went to take a bath before returning to the guest room. I blew the candle lights out and laid down on the bed. I fell asleep quickly, pushing all unnecessary thoughts to the back of my head.

I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of the wind and weird noises. I wore my outer layer before exiting my room. I looked around to see if anything unusual was going on. I couldn't sense any abnormal energy, so I returned to my room to sleep. Before I could sleep, I heard loud banging on the doors. I got myself out of bed to check for who was banging on the doors. I opened the door, and someone collapsed onto me. It was ZiNuo, and he reeked of alcohol.
