Chapter 45 Ending

The sky had turned dark. The birds were flying haphazardly in the sky. They were wailing. The animals were running around looking for shelter for no avail. A tremor rose, shaking the trees in the huge jungle. Mountains shook. Boulders came rolling down uprooting whatever came in the midway. One tremor, two tremors, three tremors… Tremors continuously assaulted all the living creatures.

The chief of healer village of Sanka stood tall in face of the continuous tremor. Her eyes fixed in the north direction. The earth was trembling. Her eyes were trembling, lips clenched. She clenched her fists and furrowed her brows. The never shaking chief was trembling. She didn't stumble when her husband, the previous chief died. She didn't falter at the face of the bureaucrats who imposed unjustified taxes. She was always iron-willed.

That's what it took to take the position of the chief of the healer clan as well as the leader of the 12 elemental clans of the Jaiti planet. She was responsible for the fate of other 12 clans spread out all over the planet. It had been so long when her father had mentioned about the alliance of the elemental clan. Healer clan, the only clan that didn't have any assault abilities took the burden of the head of all the clans.

While she was burdened by all the thoughts, a chirpy childlike voice came from behind her.

"Will you keep staring or take some action"

A small child, about 10 years old came jumping out to her. She didn't felt him approaching at all. She never has seen him the village before either.

"Who are you?"

"Who do you think I'm?"

"…."

"Don't just stay still here. Your father must have told you what to do in a situation like this."

"My father did?"

She pondered over what the child had said. She remembered her childhood days when she hanged over her father's shoulder. Her father would say random stuff which didn't make sense to her. Things like healer of the planet rather than humanity. She didn't understand the meaning then but now her eyes opened wide as she realized something.

She called for all the healers of the clan, men, women, children didn't matter. Everyone was gathered and headed towards the North, the cause of the tremor.

In all the texts in the village, the healing which was mentioned was never for another human being. They can heal themselves, other peoples but mostly they were responsible for healing this accursed planet. That's how they became the ruling clan among the elementals.

With the help of Garuds, they reached hell's door, which was at the north of their village. From the sky, she could see a cliff which just like its name hell's door was giving off ominous presence. It was the epicentre of the continuous tremors. Black smoke was emanating from the cliff. Black smoke in the dark sky was eerily visible. Taiba planet was never dark. Now it was as black as charcoal. Weirdly the black smoke was still visible as if the darkness was just a prelude. What coming next was much more ominous than the hell itself.

The chief didn't ponder more and commanded her people to start the healing process. Golden light emanated from every individual. Small, big, healing essence of every intensity poured out and fights off the dark smoke, trying to push it off to where it came from.

On the way, they had seen the burning capital city, the aftermath of the crusade of the heavenly dragon. The once benevolent dragon raged and destroyed a city. His huge carcass was lying motionless in the city emanating dark smoke as black as that from the hell's door. If what came out from the depths of the abyss is an entity even weaker than the dragon, this dragon won't have any hopes left. Only despair was coming for them.

While they were trying to salvage the situation, those bureaucrats of the planet were fleeing in spaceships. Multiple spaceships were flying off the horizons as the intensity of the tremors keeps increasing.

The poor natives of the planet were always exploited by those outsiders. Now at the time of the crisis, they were being abandoned. She could only scoff at the situation. It was them that have brought the situation.

"Mother, It's not working. We have to leave. We can't¬_"

Ajil couldn't finish his sentence. Every individual was exhausted. They had exhausted every ounce of essence they could pour out. They simply cannot stop what's coming.

"You have done enough. You should leave to"

A warm voice, containing worries came from behind. A silver wolf, Fenrir was standing behind them. Her eyes were dark. Her voice carried grief, grief akin to losing a child.

"Go and find a new home." 'It's my fault to open this planet for humans. I shouldn't have let them in.' She didn't want to blame the healers, the first human settlers of the planet. Although they were not involved in the cause of this tragedy, humans were the one who caused it. Elementals were humans too. Healers were human too. Those rebels were humans too. She could neglect all the crimes and misdeeds of humans. But she can't forgo the destruction of her planet. She had nurtured it for aeons. It has been so long that she couldn't remember. Now she was witnessing the death of her child. How could she forgive?

"Go away" This voice carried the rage as she roared towards the abyss.

The chief knew that the roar wasn't meant for them. But she still felt guilty. The healer clan headed back to their village. They were no longer welcomed in the planet. That means they have to leave this planet. The Guardian herself was kicking them out. They had become homeless.

Back in the village, the chief scourged through the library. She had known that they own a spaceship but its location was unknown. She tried to find traces of it in her memories, but she couldn't remember anything.

"Chief. What are we looking for?"

An old man came to her. Behind him were other elders. They were confused. The whole village was frantic. Other clan leaders had also arrived. They were utterly clueless. Most of them were less than 100 years old. She was the oldest one who was 355 years old. Most of her peers died back while fighting against the invasion of the Elysium government. These leaders were only good with combat. They have neither received any leadership training nor were they passed the knowledge of the previous leaders. They don't even know their origin. Their origin was a closely protected secret only the leaders could know. Now only she knew. Even she only vaguely remembers it. They possibly can't know about the spaceships.

"Are we finally getting kicked out?" the same chirpy voice came out of nowhere. The child stood beside her with a hand on his chin and another on his waist. The mysterious child didn't feel like a child at all. He popped out of nowhere.

"You. Who are you? I don't think you belong to this village."

"Irrelevant question. The thing you should ask is about the spaceships."

Ajili was baffled. Nobody knows about the spaceships but a child barely ten knows. How could that be? If not. Ajili was terrified beyond means. She fell to her knees, pleading, "Please tell us where it is?"

"It's here. Right in front of you."

"…"

"Gather all the people. We will be leaving at once"

"Ye-es"

Although she was confused she believed the child wasn't speaking nonsense. Within an hour, all the thirteen clans with all their belongings arrived at the island. They had no idea how they were going to leave the planet. Outside the black smoke had covered all over the continent. Everything was dark. They were scared. They had never seen darkness before. They had no idea where they were going. Or even they were going. They had no means to ride space ships. Their life and death were hanging by a thread.

When every individual had gathered, the child with a chirpy voice stood in the centre. He fished out a small device from his pocket. He put it down. It started to increase in size and kept growing. The people standing around it started falling asleep one by one. Every individual fell and fall into deep slumber except for Ajili.

"What's going on? What are you doing?"

Her voice was trembling. She was very scared. All the people she knew had fallen and she didn't know what happened at all.

"They are just sleeping. No need to worry. They will just be noisy if they see it. You know right? This is a secret."

Ajili nodded. The spaceship grew bigger and bigger. It was gargantuan. She has never seen anything like this. They were more than a million. A lot of spaceships would have been required to transport so many peoples. She was even ready to leave behind old and sickly people. She was ready to be left behind if it was for the sake of the continuity of their clan. Tears trickled down her cheeks. She started wailing, wailing like a child. She no longer restricted her emotions. Emotions that have been piling up as she first held the position of the chief. Her youth was spent on the position of chief. The time when she was meant to be a mother was spent on the welfare of the clan. She had shouldered too much pain, too many losses, yet she never cried. The sky had turned dark. A warm voice, containing worries came from behind. A silver wolf, Valenthia was standing behind them. Her eyes were dark. Her voice carried grief, grief akin to losing a child.
