Chapter 34

Raising her lance in midair, Princess Silvanna claims, "Lightborn squad, prepare for the final battle!"

Though they have heard her instruction, the newly transformed five warriors are still in awe of what happened. Fanny knows that her wound is in critical condition but when the crystal she saw that she once thought as a daydream, her wound slowly closes on its own. Her cables glitter gold and look as almost as invisible. Alucard is speechless, especially when his once blue coat suddenly turned into a silver set of armor trimmed with gold and his silver sword became gold as well.

"I do not really know what just happened but dang, I am loving this outfit!" Harith states. His sky blue eyes are sparkling as he examines himself—new full body armor of silver and gold and his once pure white fleece became transparent painted with the various light color of the universe. But he is most ecstatic to see that his keys are golden ones and he feels the sudden surge of power within him.

Tigreal is not the type of man who would go crazy over something like new outfits and such but he cannot deny the fact that, just like Harith, he is also excited and pumped up.

"Your new look, Granger," Tigreal says while pointing at their team's marksman, his entire face is plastered with an 'awesome look.'

Granger's vision starts to darken upon seeing his once favorite dark colored weapons and coat suddenly changed into white—the color he dislikes the most because he stands out too much in that color.

"What the hell is this?" he mumbles with his forehead creased. He is about to take off the blue tie around his neck but Tigreal drags him as he runs forward.

"There is no time for complaining," he states, "we have a fight to finish."

Terizla, who is tired of waiting for their arrival, turns to the direction of the three members of the Lightborn squad. With his glowing green bodice and huge hammer, he runs towards them and swings his weapon. Tigreal immediately thrusts his heavy and golden shield and receives almost of the damage, forcing him to be pushed backwards while Harith and Granger are thrown off from their feet.

Fanny shoots her cables on every tree or building she could held onto before grabbing Alucard by the hand. They need to regroup with the others, not only are the demons have become bigger in size and stronger but because of Leomord. He is also heading to the direction of Terizla and if the two of them fight together, it would be enough to bring down their team's marksman, tank and mage combined.

"Dang," she mumbles, "you're too heavy."

Alucard swings his weapon around to kill demons trying to claw or even bite at them. Hearing Fanny's comment makes him shake his head.

"You can carry me," he responds, "and if you cannot do so, what use are those little golden wings behind you, then?"

Calling them little gives Fanny the urge to let go of the hand of their team's fighter and watch him be eaten by the demons. But thinking of Miya stops her from doing so. It would make her feel responsible if ever she lets Alucard meet his end.

When Fanny looks ahead, she curses under her breath upon seeing Leomord about to launch an attack behind her teammates.

"Imma throw you and get Leomord before he hurts the others," she states, tightening her grip on Alucard. She shoots her cables on two large tree trunks before having both of her hands hold onto Alucard's.

"Wait, wait!" he yells in panic for he is not yet ready. But Fanny lets him go and throws him towards the others, "Damn it, Fanny!"

Still, he gathers himself together and holds onto his sword with both hands as he flies nearer towards Leomord. He raises his weapon in midair and when the abyssal horse rider is in his range of attack, he swings downward. But Leomord positions his weapon parallel to the ground, blocking his enemy's attack.

Stepping onto Barbiel's back, Alucard swerves his right foot and kicks Leomord right on the chest before hitting the ground with his back. His eyes widen upon seeing Barbiel ready to strike him with its forelimbs so he immediately turns to his side. The loud thunk when the horse hit the ground could have plummeted him to death.

Fanny steps in and faces Leomord herself, giving relief to the fighter so he could have time to recover. But before he could charge towards them to lend a hand to their assassin, the ground he is standing on suddenly cracks open. Terizla has eluded Tigreal's team just to rejoin with Leomord.

With his left hand that is covered with metallic glove, Alucard uses it to grip onto the rock jutting out that created a sharp and scratching sound. Looking down the created cliff, it is as dark as the night and it would be the end for a person who shall fall into it.

"Dying ugly is never on my list," Alucard mumbles as he thrusts his sword into the hedge so he could climb his way up.

While the Lightborn squad is going against the two skilled abyssal warriors, Princess Silvanna has made her way to face her long, lost younger brother and the prince of the abyss, Dyrroth.

Seeing the Moniyan princess again after their first meeting for his proposal, Dyrroth is feeling exhilarated. If he kills her with his bare hands, not only total victory will be his but as well as the whole Moniyan Empire. It would be strong enough to even conquer Magical City and the entirety of Land of Dawn.

"Seeing you here means that you have no plans in turning yourself in," the princess states, only to be laughed at by the abyssal prince. His once sky blue eyes are now black, he even grew a pair of horns. The princess could not even recognize the original voice of her brother that is now overshadowed by the demon he possesses inside him.

"It is destined to be like this, princess," Dyrroth responds with a smirk that almost reached his ear, "or should I say sister?"

His mocking voice makes Princess Silvanna grits her teeth. Gripping her lance, she positions it on her side and parallel to the ground before charging towards him. Dyrroth vanishes, leaving a puff of black smoke behind. Predicting his next move, the princess ducks before turning around, dodging the attack of the prince from behind. She pierces her lance towards him but Dyrroth simply grips its tip without getting himself turn.

"Don't give me this child play, princess," he states, pulling the lance and landing a kick right on the princess' abdomen. Silvanna is thrown to the side but the pain she received is still bearable. She stands up, using her lance as a support. Once again, she throws her lance at Dyrroth, aiming at his chest that would surely end him. But unlike before, he would not be able to hold it because of its purifying ability.

But this time, Dyrroth did not touch the lance, instead, he simply dodges it and runs towards her for a hand-to-hand combat. Aiming at her head, Dyrroth raises his leg but the princess blocks it with one hand. She clutches his leg and and with her right foot, she slides it over Dyrroth's that causes him to lose balance. She did not hesitate to pull him closer and elbows his thigh, making him squeal in pain.

Seeing Dyrroth tries to stand mighty with his limp leg, Silvanna summons her lance and charges towards him. But before her weapon could thrust into his flesh, the abyssal prince vanishes again and only the black smoke is left of him. Thinking that he would appear behind her again, the princess turns on her heels, only to receive a strong jab behind her.

Alice flies to Dyrroth's side and looks at the body of the princess rolling on the dusty ground.

"Let's end this," Alice states, "I already had my fun."

But her remark is given no attention by the child she raised.

"The warriors in Magical City killed my replica," Alice entices him, "and it would be a disadvantage if they come here."

Dyrroth stops on his tracks and slowly turns his head towards the mage. His dark eyes focus on her and with a smirk, he states, "Then, what about that SABER squad you are proud of controlling? Did they turn their back on you now?"

Alice clenches her fists upon hearing the obvious mockery in his voice. She may be the one who became a huge factor in shaping who Dyrroth is currently but there is one thing she really abhors—the fact that she cannot fully control him. It would be of no problem if he listens to her words but recently, he is going more and more against her like a rebellious son.

"You should go to Magical City for now and bring me the head of that Paxley rebel," Dyrroth states.

Alice rolls her eyes in annoyance before leaving the Moniyan Empire on the hands of their prince. On the other hand, Princess Silvanna regains her posture and ready to fight Dyrroth again. When he strikes her with the swirling, poisonous black smoke, the princess swings her lance forward and it spirals like a vortex as it absorbs the black smoke—purifying it. She opens her palm and hit the tip of her lance, sending it towards Dyrroth at lightning speed and leaving a trail of flashes of golden light.

Just like what he did a few moments ago, Dyrroth uses both hands to stop the lance but he immediately lets go when he feels the scorching heat it emits. But now that Silvanna no longer holds her weapon, Dyrroth takes advantage. He dashes forward and before his enemy could defend herself, he grips her on the throat, lifts her off the ground and releases the abyssal poison contained in the tips of his hand. With one hand, he pierces his nails into her flesh, causing an unbearable pain.

A victorious smirk is plastered on his face as his dark eyes stare at the flushing face of the princess.

"Let..." she tries clawing at him, "me go!"

The abyssal prince takes a sudden step forward when a force from behind hits him hard. Dyrroth slowly loosens his grip on his sister, dropping her on the filthy ground. Looking down on his chest, he sees the tip of Silvanna's lance, glowing in silver, piercing through him—his blood dripping on its tip.

"Light of the Moniyan Empire

Spread your purifying fire

Cleanse the dark within the pure

Heal the people who needed cure."

Chanting the purifying spell with a whisper, Dyrroth screams in pain as his entire body is devoured by the golden fire that comes from the silver lance. The demons that he has summoned slowly drifts with the wind as dark dusts. But with the poison inside her circulating all over her body, the princess grows pale in color and her once silver hair turned dark.

Hearing the familiar voice and seeing the demons disappear one after another, Terizla and Leomord are fazed upon spotting the prince all defeated in front of the Moniyan princess. Letting their guard down is an advantage for the Lightborn squad. Granger positions his guns on the two abyssal warriors, Harith is ready to chant his spells and Fanny is soaring in midair to strike them. Tigreal initiates the attack but before he could even step closer towards them, he suddenly freezes in place.

"What the hell is going on?!" Harith complains, "I cannot move!"

"Me either," Granger and Fanny mutter as well.

"My, my, my." Everyone's attention shifts to the direction where the voice is coming from. Behind Terizla and Leomord, a woman with an almost purple color body appears. Her hands are behind her back as she slowly walks towards them with a small smile drawn on her lips. Dark, abyssal demons having sharp teeth are lurking around her as if they are just merely her pets.

"Playtime is over," she states.

"Let my teammates go, Selena" Alucard butts in. Heaving, he still faces the demoness with his sword drawn out. He has spent almost half of his strength in climbing up the rough cliff but he still could manage to fight.

"We meet yet again, Alucard," the demoness replies with her sweetest smile.
