Want to be Her

Never once did Jia Yu ever think that someone would want to be her.

Why would anyone want to steal her identity?

After all, she is a lonely thirty years old woman with an average face and body. Because of her below average features, no one ever once would assume Jia Yu got to where she is by sleeping with her superiors. Her physical looks are also the reason why Jia Yu decided to become a ghostwriter. She understands her role in society.

Because of her lack of interaction with the outside world, Jia Yu does not realize the number of people who wished to be her. Her face and body may be lacking, but her money-making skill is above and beyond. Anything she puts her mind into, she could convert it into dollars.

Many people know Jia Yu is a lethal businesswoman. She could cut others' throats - financially - without batting a lash. She is also the reason why her company is running the way it is today. Ten years ago, the company she joined was on the verge of bankruptcy until Jia Yu set a structured system. Even the shareholders wouldn't want to step on Jia Yu's foot; particularly since she is one of the larger stock owners.

Jia Yu ruthlessly negotiated the owner of the firm - which was private at the time she joined - for stocks instead of wages. For years, Jia Yu worked multiple jobs simply to continue working at her current company for stocks.

The company boomed and Jia Yu turned into a millionaire overnight.

Unfortunately, they say old habits died hard and Jia Yu who is a hard worker continued to be a hard worker until today. If Jia Yu learned to go out instead of making more money through work and stories, she would realize that many men would love to court her due to her - outside of work - relaxing personality.

Jia Yu exhales, her head stumbles downward with a full-fledged frown in her face. Her long dark hair scatters down her cheeks as her ears listen to the loud footsteps slapping against the white tile floor.

After the outrageous loud alarm, that man escorted her into another and left her alone with a bunch of people who stumbles back and forth with mountains of papers. Jia Yu looks up to see a young woman viciously pressing her pen into the paper while her mouth spilled devils' words. She pressed it harder and the pen snap - then her mental state broke along with it and she cried.

Not too long after the same man from earlier made his way to Jia Yu with a strained smile on his lips. He stands in front of her, hands crunch against one another as his spine straightens to its best position. "Jia Yu," he said her name much too slowly for comfort.

Jia Yu adjusts in the red seat, "Yeah?"

His eyes motions upward momentarily before a short chuckles escape her lips, "Why don't we talk in a less hectic place," the smile still creepily drift across his face.

Slowly, Jia Yu nods her head and follows the man who steps suddenly turn robotic. A door appears and he twists it open, allowing Jia Yu to enter first. "My superior will be here shortly," he said, before closing the room.

Jia Yu stands there, her shoes smoothing across the carpets. She notices a picture of a beach on the white wall, rolling waves and white sands. Then, the water motions - physically - and she wonders what would happen if she would touch it. From what she had witnessed, most likely, she would be pulled into the painting. Across from her stands a black wooden table with beautiful white lilies resting on top of it. Jia Yu inches closer to the window, to see crystal white snow.

It rests on the bench, soft and warm-looking. Jia Yu knows it will only wet her bottom if she sits on it. Her brows inched closer when she saw four figures in the distance. The four people stand beside the pine trees and she couldn't believe her ears when she hears laughter.

Jia Yu reaches into the pitch-perfect picture, only to come into contact with the glass.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" she hears a woman's voice.

Jia Yu turns around and a woman with red heels enters, placing a white mug, folders, and a tablet on the black table. She settles down on the grey couch and gesture Jia Yu to do the same. Jia Yu turns around, seeing nothing but white. She exhales and made her way towards the woman. The woman crosses her legs, "I understand you had been through a lot."

Jia Yu nods, "When can I return? What's going on?"

The woman rests her chin on top of her palm, "From what I had witnessed on the videos, you seem quite calm about everything that had happened."

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"You're standing in between Heaven and Hell. Isn't that shocking?"

Jia Yu shrugs, "Not really, I did get hit on the head. I'm simply grateful I'm not dead."

The woman chuckles, soft heel twisting on the floor. She flips through the folders, pretending to read it - she had already reviewed the content before meeting Jia Yu. She lays the papers down, "We had run into an issue."

"I had a feeling."

"There was another girl who was brought in with you."

"Jia Su."

The woman nods, before taking her tablet and scroll across it. Instantly, a screen appears in front of them revealing the situation. "As you see-" the woman said. "Jia Su had purposely taken your identity and enter your world."

Jia Yu watches as Jia Su falsely admitted that she is Jia Yu then steps into a portal that's meant for her. "Okay? So, when am I going to go back?"

The screen switches off. "Pardon?"

"When will you get her and I can go back to my world?"

The woman smile, "About that," her words were slow. "We cannot forcefully take a soul and-" Jia Yu holds her breath, waiting for the woman to continue. "Jia Su already enter your body and woke up from her coma."

"My coma!" Jia Yu snaps. In her state, that was the last string. Jia Yu lived in the anger she didn't know exists, so lost in the moment. How can the almost-after-life mess up? How is that possible? Her eyes strain and her muscles tense, unable to think clearly.

The woman moves the cup of drink away from Jia Yu, and if she could - she would also remove herself from the room. She had experienced many souls wrath and she came to the conclusion that delivering bad news never turn out well. "Let's take deep breaths and evaluate the situation shall we?" the woman understands that telling others to calm down in an angry situation never turns out well, so she would often attempt to use other words.

Unfortunately, for her, that causes Jia Yu's madness to escalate. "Take deep breaths?!" she screams, "The time I had waited for her is worse than when I'm waiting to renew my car! And now you're telling me that this Jia Su girl stole my identity - my life? Is that even possible?"

The woman remains a calm face but she was trembling on the inside. "Look, Miss Jia Yu, we are working on it. We will get you, your life back."

Jia Yu forces her palms to uncurl and she settles back onto the soft couch.

The woman exhales softly, relieve that Jia Yu is calming down.

"What are my options?" Jia Yu said, placing on her business mask. If she didn't she would've broken and tear everything in the room.

"You can wait here."

Jia Yu grounds her molars. "Or?"

"You can temporarily live Jia Su's life."
