Rumors and Revelations

As Xuan continued his carefree lifestyle, rumors spread quickly through the sect. Some disciples mocked him for abandoning cultivation, while others speculated about why someone with such immense talent had given up.

But Xuan paid no mind to gossip. His mind was on other things like the freedom he now enjoyed.

In the evenings, he would often wander the sect's grounds, his gaze drifting toward the female disciples' quarters.

He'd developed a reputation for peeking at the women when they bathed in the hot springs, though he was far more discreet than the rumors suggested. Despite his carefree attitude, he still carried a mischievous streak from his past life a side of him that craved the little pleasures of life.

One night, Xuan found himself near the hot springs, leaning casually against a rock as the moonlight reflected off the water. A few female disciples were nearby, giggling and chatting quietly.

His eyes gleamed with amusement as he observed them from a distance, but a familiar presence soon interrupted him.

Feng Yuxin, the sect leader's daughter, appeared suddenly at his side, her expression a mix of curiosity and amusement.

Feng Yuxin:

"Still spying, I see."

Xuan grinned, unfazed.

"Spying? No, I'm simply admiring the view."

Yuxin raised an eyebrow, folding her arms across her chest.

"You know, people are starting to wonder why someone like you, who was supposed to be a prodigy, is wasting his time doing… this."

Xuan shrugged, his tone casual.

"Let them wonder. I have no interest in proving anything to them. I've already done it all in my past life. Besides, this is far more entertaining than endless cultivation drills."

Yuxin's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Past life? You're not serious."

Xuan looked at her, his gaze suddenly sharp, but his smile remained in place.

"Oh, I'm very serious. But that's not something I'm ready to talk about just yet."

Yuxin studied him for a moment, her curiosity piqued. She had always found Xuan's sudden change strange, but this mention of a "past life" added a new layer to the mystery.

As she walked away, Xuan leaned back against the rock, his grin widening.

"One day, they'll understand. But for now, I'll enjoy the peace."

With his memories restored, and his strength concealed, Xuan knew that his time of laziness wouldn't last forever. One day, the sect and the world beyond would face challenges that would require him to step forward again.

But until then, he was content to remain in the background, watching and waiting, knowing that when the time came, he would reclaim the full power of the Void Emperor once more.
