Chapter 403/47: Turning Tables

Just as Kaido was wondering who suddenly called out his name around the corner, he then came to sudden surprise to see Iranagi, Hiro, his old classmate back on highschool, standing right infront of him

In fact he was currently quite confused on why such a person was able to remember him, when he deliberately erased his existence to everyone in Japan, including his personal info online

Facing with that fact he then started to become wary of such a person, even thought it is his old acquaintance, before proceeding on towards him while talking towards Calamity on his mind

After all aside from him, Calamity is one of the reasons for such a situation in Japan, by erasing his existence in such a country thus making him almost invisible to the most of the population

Calimity an entity which is recognized by the God's of Loroa and seldom talks to him at certain situation then spoke out towards him through telepathy on his mind

(Calamity:"I believe you have some questions in mind that you needed some answers?")

(Kaido:"You've already heard and somehow seen the situation, now explain how is he still remembering me? I thought I have already secured every loose ends and cutted them off?")

Hearing Kaido's question in his mind, Calamity then honestly replied the answer that she was thinking on her mind

(Calamity:"Indeed! You've emphasized that every information regarding yourself should be erased from the public to cut any loose ends that will lead to your demise, of course excluding the G.E.N.O.S organization, since you had enmity against each other and your planning to corner it to the point they have no choice but to retaliate against you by force, thus ending them completely")

(Calamity:"However I can only think up of only two possible explanation why your so called former acquaintance still has a memory of you in the past... One is because that acquaintance of yours is an esper and had an esper ability that negates my actions, and Two is the possibility that your acquaintance is one of the members of that so called organization that you antagonize")

Upon hearing Calamity's explanation regarding the current situation, Kaido had no choice but to further raise up his guard as he came face to face with his former friend and classmate during his highschool days

"Your Hiro right?"

Hearing Kaido calling out his name Hiro then happily smiled towards him as he replied

"So you are Kaido! I haven't met you for about a year! So the reason for your disappearance must be because your in South Korea right? If that is the case then you should've have told us about it earlier" said Hiro indicating him and Kaido's other friends during his past

"Is that a requirement? I remember no such rule that I have to state where I go to you guys" replied Kaido with a serious look

Seeing Kaido's reaction, Hiro the said as he observed Kaido from top to bottom

"You've truly changed a lot since I saw you, but you should've still told Ayame about your circumstances, after all she is your girlfriend right? Your still maintaining connection with each other right?"

With such question, Kaido couldn't help but sigh in dejection as he remembered an awful memory, after that he then replied

"Yeah! It's my fault! Don't worry I'll apologize to her"

Seeing that somehow Kaido is pained for some reason, Hiro then suddenly changed to topic elsewhere

"Well anyway we've got a lot of catching up to do, how about you follow me and I'll treat you to some food on the way? I believe you haven't had your breakfast right?"

"Indeed"

Through that Kaido then followed Hiro towards the crowded street as they headed towards a certain fast food restaurant

Few minutes then passed by as both Kaido and Hiro were walking towards the fast food restaurant which is famous world wide due to its food, namely McDonald's

Upon reaching McDonald's Hiro then literally treated Kaido with Two Crispy Chicken Burger, a Sundae, and a French fries with Coke

Afyer ordering the same meal just like Kaido for himself, Hiro then proceeded towards their table which is facing the outside window, which showcased people crossing the street in four different directions

When food had arrived Hiro immediately went in with a bit as he begun his topic of catching up with Kaido for the past few months

Such topic included what he had done for the past year, what he had accomplished, if he ever cheated on Ayame, and what school he transferred if he ever is still a student, of course most of them were hard to answer since Kaido is literally transported into another world for the past 1 year, thus he had no choice but to improvise his story

After for what seems like 15 minutes of talking and after all of the food infront of them was completely eaten, Kaido then proceeded to ask a certain question towards Hiro in an attempt to dig out his real intention, after all he hadn't completely trusted his old acquaintance yet, such is a life of a person bathed in blood of hundred of people he had killed

"Hiro... you said that you have arrived in South Korea about a month ago right? Thats a lot of time for a single person, so can you tell me just what did you do for this past month?"

With that Hiro then replied

"Well as you know... I've dropped out of school due to financial reason and have gone out to the world to find job overseas, just like that I was assigned by my agency to work as a bodyguard for a certain celebrity here in South Korea"

"Certain celebrity? So why are you here now?" Asked Kaido

"Well isn't that obvious? It's my day off... plus it isn't easy at all..." muttered Hiro as he tightened his grip

Seeing such reaction, Kaido then begun to probed some more as he wanted to hear more information out of Hiro, after all this certain celebrity that he was currently working with might lead him to some clues towards the organization and it's survivors

"Isn't easy? Your just underestimating your skill, in fact it is quite easy..."

But before Kaido could finish his words, he suddenly felt the change in atmosphere as he realized one focal point in his surroundings that he haven't realized earlier

It was too silent

Reacting immediately he then turned his head all over the fast food restaurant, only to realize that there were no people inside the building, adding to that mystery there are also literally no people on the street, much less the busy cars driving on the road

It is as if both Hiro and him had been completely isolated in some unknown space

Gritting his teeth in annoyance since he was totally caught off guard by such a cheap trick, he then proceeded to ask Hiro about the current situation, since he felt the latter has some kind of doing to the current situation they were in

"You..."

Growling in anger he then pulled Hiro's collar towards him as he wabted to vent out his frustration, but the moment he picked him up, he then realized that his so called friend which was together with him earlier was nothing but an empty corpse devoid of his own soul

Seeing such corpse of his former acquaintance, adding to the fact that he had conversed with him earlier, Kaido then concluded that this was a doing of an esper who could manipulate the body of a dead person under it's own will

In that instant he started to grow wary of his surrounding as he felt that he might get ambushed any moments later

Unknown to Kaido's knowledge, about a few building blocks away, the Sniper and arsonist of the Alpha mercenary group, was currently monitoring his movements

Upon seeing Kaido becoming wary of his surrounding while grasping unto the corpse of his old acquaintance, Ekaterina then reported back his movements towards the whole team through her earpiece while observing Kaido from her scope

"The target has noticed Janus domain, which isolated him from the outside world, I repeat the target has realized our actions"

Hearing Ekaterina's report, Cahill then who was on a certain black van on a certain street then gave out his order

"If that is the case, then neutralize the target immediately"

Hearing his command numerous call outs then reverbrated out of his earpiece

"Roger!"

"Understood!"

"Okay!"

"Clear"

"Got it!"

In that get go Lucian who was just beside Ekaterina then pulled up an enhanced rocket launcher as he aimed it towards Kaido and fired it off with a bang

Meanwhile as the rocket courses through the air, Kaido suddenly felt the presence of an object heading directly towards his direction, because of that he then looked out the window, only to see a rocket heading straight at him

I'm just a few seconds a huge explosion then reverberated around the area as numerous destroyed objects and debris flew all over the place, following it fire then erupted all over, as the whole fast food restaurant went up in flames

Confirming the hit projectile, Lucian then raises up his launcher as he called out towards the rest of his team through his comms

"It's a hit! You guys are up!"

Receiving the go signal from one of their long ranged member, Janus together with Tomas and Madrigal then came in running from their own hiding corner and started their rendezvous towards the exploded building

While this was happening on the mercenary side, Kaido on the other hand came out unscathed from the explosion, as everywhere around him turned into a sea of flames, luckily he quickly protected himself from the explosion through coating himself with his psychic barrier in a short gap of seconds

Quite a few feet from him, he then could see the burning corpse of his former friend which he just met earlier on the street

Despite the fact that his former friend was just an empty corpse from the very beginning, he was then much more interested on what kind of esper ability that had controlled it, after a if he deduced such skill or ability from all that he know, then the only thing he could think up was the use of puppeteer esper ability

But even with that ability, the action that one can apply to another body was limited

On Hiro's case on the other hand was completely flawless from the way it moves, speak, think, and feel, for a matter of fact even he was almost fooled by such realistic approach, luckily he stayed wary of his surroundings, thus sensing the changes in the area before it's too late

Seeing the burning corpse among the rubble, Kaido then shook his head in dismay as he said

"Such a shame!"

After that he then stood up and look at his surroundings, along the building lines, before shifting his gaze into the sky

After looking around he then summed up his own assumption

"Looks like I'm in a isolated space with enemy hostile in bound to my location, must be those brave souls who are attracted by the prize money...such foolishness"

When he stated those words, Kaido then took a few steps forwards as he left the burning vicinity and came out into the cross section of the road

Reaching to that point, he then stretched out his hand into the air as he started his work in destroying the isolated space, after all no matter what tricks the enemy hostile would use, everything would still fall down under the category of matter, thus he can easily destroy this isolated space if he wanted to, since everything that exist is made up of matter

But while he was in the process of destroying the isolated space, he then sensed multiple bloodlust around his area as he suddenly saw Janus coming out from nowhere at the edge of his sight

In that instant Janus striked out his fist as he enhanced his physical ability and punched through Kaido's psychic barrier, unfortunately the latter wasn't an amateur in terms of real life battle thus he immediately canceled his initial work and quickly defended himself by blocking the incoming attack with his arm

Upon collision Kaido immediately realized the immense strength that the opponent had wielded upon punching his way through to him, it almost as is he was hit by an iron boulder enhanced with pyschic barrier, such a comparison was really close to its counterpart

In an instant however Janus then quickly followed up his straight surprise punch with a high kick from his left leg, after getting a solid footing unto the ground

However at that exact same moment, Kaido noticed the slight change of muscle contraption on Janus legs as he realized that the enemy was going to do a high kick, through that he then quickly crouched forward just in time to dodge the attack

But the moment he did such an action, he suddenly felt as if time had stopped for a few seconds as he clearly saw his opponents reversing the time of his action to avoid on failing to hit him

With that second chance Janus kick quickly changed course as he kicked at the lower point of his body, which is seemingly aiming towards Kaido's face which was crouching forward

In a strike Kaido was then blown back by the force of the kick as his nose started to bleed after failing to protect it with his psychic barrier, after all everything happened in a second, thus he was totally late to react

Gritting his teeth, he then wiped the blood out of his nose as he muttered

"Instant movement, super strength, time manipulation.... all in three? What the hell is that ability?"

But after stating that, Kaido then took along at the current situation in an instant as he summed up his own hypothesis

"One enemy infront of me, another one from afar launching a projectile... all in all two people, but I must assume that this is a doing of a team, after all they can't underestimate me this much right? I assume that there is a team nearby, I just need to be careful"

As he thought of this for a second, Tomas then came rushing in from behind him as he smashed both of his hand towards Kaido's location causing a huge explosion and a crater to form

Unfortunately Kaido was wary of his surroundings, thus immediately dodging that another surprise attack

But that didn't end there as Tomas came running in towards Kaido and slammed his whole body against him like a football player

This time however Kaido didn't back down as he implanted his feet into the ground, causing him to be an unmovable being while clenching his fist and punching it out towards Tomas while being enhanced by electricity, which heightens his super human strength

In that exchange Tomas was then blasted away towards the rubble, causing Janus to be shocked

"Three" muttered Kaido as he counted the enemy

In a split second Kaido was then being bombarded by missiles which were then produced by Lucian from a building far away

Since the missiles were a type of psychic enhanced heat seeking missiles, they all then targeted Kaido who it deemed as an enemy

Through that Kaido had then no choice but to dodge as best as he could whole protecting himself from the blast by surrounding his whole body with psychic barrier

Amidst that chaos he was then being continously shooted down by numerous sniper shots from afar, all contradicting his control of his ability, much likely the person who shot at him must be able to control matter just like him

But because of it contradicting his ability to control matter such sniper bullet was then able to pierce through his barrier and shoot him down on his shoulder and left arm

Enduring the pain he then counted down his hostile enemy

"Four"

In that instant his sense warns him right at that moment as he saw another enemy closing in on him from his blindspot while wielding a knife and aiming directly at his spine

With quick reaction he tilted his head to dodge the initial strike from a certain ambush, before he quickly counter attacked with a low kick from below, totally aiming to knockdown his opponent

Who knew that when he did such an action towards the person herself, the person then jumped up with bithbof her feet to dodge Kaido's low kick in an swift instant, it is as if she had expected such a move from the very beginning

But that didn't deter Kaido at all as he quickly swipe his arm across the air as he controlled the earth below to impale the woman who attacked him

In that moment however the woman then showcased her ability as she completely phased through Kaido's attack and took ahold of him within her arms, thus completely locking him

Because of her ability, the woman was able to restrain Kaido's movement by wrapping her arms around him, while the latter was unable to do anything since the woman can phase through objects

With a smile the woman then called out towards her team members

"I got him!"

Seeing that Madrigal was able to restrain their target, Janus then immediately followed up an order towards his other members of the group

"She got him! Quick! Neautralize the target!"

Heading his command, Tomas quickly got up from the rubble as he ran straight towards Kaido, aiming to completely pin him down, aftercall the mission was either to capture him or kill him

As Janus and Tomas was rushing towards Madrigal's location, the person herself then took the time to admire Kaido, after all he is a young boy who was completely renowned as one of the strongest in the esper world cause of his ability

"You know what? Your quite a looker yourself, unfortunately your too young for me and is wanted by the organization, but your quite lucky to have a woman hugging you in public right? After all you could literally feel my whole body press against you... so if you want more treatment from me, why don't you just let yourself be captured?"

Faced with such question, Kaido simply smiled evilly as he replied

"Five"

In that instant the matter around them completely changed into something dangerous in a matter of seconds, causing Madrigal to sense the danger of death around her

With a loud shout he then called out to warn her other team members

"Watch out!!!"

Upon screaming those words a huge dark matter explosion then rung out of the area as it then completely flooded all over the isolated domain

The domain itself then shattered in an instant due to the power of the explosion, as the wave of destructiveness completely engulfed the whe mercenary team inside the domain

In a matter of fact, Kaido's whole three months in South Korea wasn't a waste of time at all, after all while planning to destroy the organization in the said country, Kaido was currently learning how dark matter work, since his ability can only get stronger as he gains more knowledge about his own scope and domain of power

With his three month of learning through dark matter theory and hypothesis, he was then able to recreate an explosion almost equivalent to the real dark matter itself

Even thought it still had flaws since the explosion isn't a threat at all against people who had stronger controlling ability, it was still powerful enough to shatter reality in case he is trapped in a cycle of non-ending loop of failures

With the whole domain shattering into nothingness, followed by the excessive destruction of his dark matter explosion which could disrupt space itself, Kaido then fell into darkness below which totally cause a crack in space itself
