Information

While the three friends casually conversed with one another about a recent tv series they got hooked on, the young man in the middle couldn't help but sneak a few glances at the young girl who had a wide smile on her face.

"Dude, are you okay?" a young man that exuded an energetic aura asked with concern. He had caught him dazing off into the distance a few times during their conversations.

The other, who was quiet and busy holding a book in his hand also nodded. Although he was reading and listening to their conversations, he also noticed his gaze off into the distance.

"I just get a feeling of familiarity from that person over there," the young boy pointed at the girl with soft features sitting next to the window.

"Oh... You mean Jiang Shen?" the energetic young man replied as he crossed his arms. "Why? Are you interested in her?"

He neither confirmed nor denied so the energetic young man widely smiled. "Seriously? You've only been here for a week and you've already set your sights on a girl?"

"That's not it." He shook his head. "I just think i've met her before. When I was younger."

"Maybe it's a sense of deja vu? I've read that some people will feel familiar even if you've never met them before," the quiet young man quipped as he closed the novel.

"I'm just asking. There's no need to complicate it. I'll find out sooner or later," the scholarly young man spoke. School will start officially after a month and a half. After that, he'll naturally get more information about her.

"No need to wait. I've got all the information you might need," the energetic young man proudly puffed his chest out.

"How? Are you a stalker?" the quiet young man asked incredulously.

"Li Er, who are you calling a stalker? I'll beat you!"

Li Er remained unperturbed and turned his gaze to the scholarly young man. "Do you want to get to know her?"

"Yeah." There was no hesitation or moment of doubt in the scholarly young man's head. He genuinely did want to get to know her. Even if it did sound strange to a person.

"Then... Mo Ran, take the lead."

"I was going to," Mo Ran snorted and leaned on the table before speaking in a lower volume. "As you might not know, Jiang Shen is the top student of the Liberal Arts department in our school. She has a good reputation and is known for not refusing any help from students. She doesn't discriminate and has a humble attitude. If it wasn't because she was a natural loner, then her popularity would've soared even higher, comparable to that of the school's idol, Cheng Muyi!"

"So she's a model student?"

Mo Ran nodded. "I heard her family is quite rich and lives in a large estate left behind by her great grandfather. If it wasn't because her grandfather had retired early, they might've become an affluent one, like yours."

"What's she like?"

Mo Ran covered his mouth and teased, "Already eager to get to know the girl, are you?"

Li Er remained passive and just helplessly shook his head at his friend's stupidity.

"You could say that."

"Okay, way to ruin the suspense." Mo Ran no longer felt like teasing at such blunt words. "Anyways, another thing I heard by chance from a friend is that she's also multitalented. I haven't confirmed that rumor yet so that's not fact-checked.

"Basically, she's the epitome of knowledge. If it wasn't for the fact that she's had an ambiguous relationship with that genius from the STEM department, she would have many suitors."

"Ambiguous relationship?"

Li Er also hasn't heard of Jiang Shen having that sort of relationship with a person from another department.

"Hehe, if only you guys kept up with the news." Mo Ran felt proud that he knew all there is to know about the school. But it was a given since he was part of the school's newspaper club.

"So what's up?"

Mo Ran then turned serious as he pondered over the issue as well. "As you guys might not know, Jiang Shen has refused a lot of suitors in our whole three years of high school. Boys and girls alike. But I heard the reason why she keeps rejecting them is that she already has someone she likes. And that person is the genius from the STEM department.

The guy from the STEM department is quiet and elusive. You could hardly see him around campus. His classmates had divulged that he was only ever studying, eating, or sleeping, so the rumor dispersed soon after that. But as curious me has never failed to investigate the whole story, I interviewed some people.

Turns out that both of them were classmates. From grade school all the way to junior high, they were even desk mates! Although both persons involved had never confirmed the rumor, going by my knack of guessing things right, they're for sure involved with each other."

"Why do you say that?"

Mo Ran rolled his eyes, as if the answer wasn't obvious enough. But remembering how the person he was talking to hadn't gone home in six years, he sighed and said, "Of course simply because of the fact that the rumor exists."

"Ah!"

"Finally get it?"

The scholarly young man nodded. Turns out there was some interesting things going on in school. He might actually enjoy studying this time.

"I'm tired, can we hang out at your place? All this talking made me want to play video games," Mo Ran whined as he laid his head on the table.

"Don't be rude, we're in a public place," Li Er chided as he smacked his head.

"Tsk! Do you have to be so violent?" Mo Ran angrily spoke, rubbing the side of his head.

Li Er ignored him and turned to the scholarly young man. "So, where should we hang out?"

"At my place. My parents are out with my brother at the moment."

"Your place it is then!" Mo Ran stood up and paid for their drinks before hurriedly leaving the café with the other two.

Coincidentally, the scholarly young man and Jiang Shen gazes met as her eyes flashed with recognition. He gave her another smile again and left, leaving her confused.
