"Hm? I thought you were going to hang out with your friends?"

She had wanted to invite him to lunch but because he made plans beforehand, she joined the others outside. The relaxing atmosphere under the tree made it perfect to enjoy their meal.

"Shit! This is the transferee?"

Cao Wei exclaimed as she stood up and assessed him from head to toe. She proceeded to nod, much to Yang Mu's surprise.

Nevertheless, he didn't lose his composure and only smiled gently.

"Is there anything wrong?"

"You're perfect!"

"What do you mean?"

Kang Shu pulled her away and scolded, "Stop making him uncomfortable. Not everyone can take your gaze."

"Tsk! Fine..."

Cao Wei sat down next to Kang Shu and ate her meal with a pout.

Ju Sheng and Cheng Muyi then looked at him. The former nodded approvingly while the latter suspiciously stared.

"Is there anything on my face?"

Yang Mu took out a handkerchief and wiped his face.

"There isn't but what are you doing here?"

"Oh, the guys were busy so I went to find you," Yang Mu naturally sat next to her and said.

"Why?"

"Have you forgotten? You're the only other person I know besides them. And Shi Fen, of course."

Hearing his name, he sent a glare towards Yang Mu but otherwise returned to busily gobbling down his food. In his eyes, there was nothing more important than eating.

"Oh, then these are my friends," Jiang Shen began to point at the others.

"That's Cheng Muyi, our school's idol."

He winked at Yang Mu and flashed his famous smile.

"That's his girlfriend, Ju Sheng."

She waved at him and respectfully nodded.

"This is Kang Shu and Cao Wei,"

the former smiled politely while the latter smirked in mischief.

"And you already know Shi Fen."

Yang Mu nodded understandingly while he greeted all of them.

"Nice to meet you all."

"So, Yang Mu..." Cao Wei quipped from the side. "Are the rumors about you true?"

"I'm sorry?"

"Stop interviewing him. You're not part of the newspaper club," Kang Shu elbowed her side. "I'm sorry, my friend is just naturally a gossip girl so forgive her."

Yang Mu shook his head.

"Not at all. I just want to ask, what rumors?"

He was new to the school after all and hadn't been made aware of the student forum. Different from the school forum, the student forum was made by a past student union president to promote camaraderie and easy access to connections through the internet.

If he knew that the student forum he made was now used to spread gossip and rumors, no doubt that he would've spat out blood.

Jiang Shen also hadn't made it a point to tell him since she didn't like to partake in such silly games.

"Don't you know?" Ju Sheng interjected, to which he shook his head.

"You're famous now! Rumors about you have been spreading since summer break started."

Cheng Muyi then also added, "Your popularity is even comparable to mine. Might even be more. Who's to say?"

"Not to mention that you've also been hanging out with Shen."

Yang Mu felt at a lost. He only registered at the school for a brief moment. He wasn't aware that his presence would garner so much attention. In retrospect, maybe he should've been more lowkey.

"But I only registered, why would I be famous?"

He wasn't popular back in Korea, so why would he be popular here?

Jiang Shen, who had been keeping quiet, the patiently explained.

"The school receives very few transferees every year. Not a lot of them end up staying because of the difference in teachings. Not only is the Institute so strict on the admissions, you're not allowed to slack off."

Although there were a few young masters and mistresses from affluent families that enroll every year, not a lot of them end up staying and withdraw after a few weeks of studying.

"So i'm popular because i'm a transferee."

Yang Mu felt even more confused.

Jiang Shen nodded.

"Not only are you a transferee but," she listed out the things with her fingers. "You're handsome, have a nice personality, a young master, and have good grades."

The wave of compliments made Yang Mu felt embarrassed. His cheeks slightly reddened as he nodded.

"I didn't know..."

The others looked at him mischievously, the brief interaction between the two of them made all of them understood what was going on.

"If you want to know then you can join the student forum."

"How?"

"Here, hand me your phone."

Yang Mu took out his phone from the pocket of his slacks and handed it to Cheng Muyi.

"Ah! This is the newest model of xxx! A true young master, that's for sure."

Cheng Muyi felt like he was holding on to a bar of gold and carefully held it. After a few moments he handed it back.

"There, I registered an account for you! Now you can post or comment on anything that piques your interest."

"Thank you."

They had only met for a few minutes but they treated him all normally. It looked like this school year is going to be great.

He glanced at Jiang Shen who was in the midst of finishing up her lunch. Shi Fen, who had already finished his, laid down on the grass.

Jiang Shen then exclaimed, "Ah, Fen!"

"What?"

"Whatever happened to your summer course? Did you manage to make progress?"

She already knew that he failed. From the very start she had a feeling it wouldn't go well. And most of all, there was someone else who had caught his eye, just that he's still in denial of his feelings.

Jiang Shen inwardly praised herself.

Kang Shu then said, "Summer course? Shi Fen, you registered for the summer course?"

"I did," Shi Fen nodded but his mood turned sour.

"No, I failed."

Jiang Shen frowned. But inwardly she was snickering with pure delight. Good.

"Why not?"

"I got rejected," he muttered, but Jiang Shen still managed to hear it.

He was heartbroken and turned grumpy for a while. Jiang Shen stayed quiet and nobody pursued the topic any further. Kang Shu looked at Shi Fen, who was down in the dumps lying on the ground and pursed her lips.

She glanced at Kang Shu's strange expression and hid the smile threatening to bloom on her face.

"What do you plan to do now?"

Jiang Shen turned to Yang Mu. There was still a few minutes till lunch ended, but their teacher was still absent.

Yang Mu looked up at the bright sky with a thoughtful expression and said, "I think i'll hang out here with you."
