His Moon

Behind her, Kang Shu had her nose up high as she crossed her arms and continued to gloat about her sense of fashion.

"You managed to make her wear a dress, i'm impressed," Cao Wei rubbed her chin as she freely checked out Jiang Shen's body.

Shi Fen frowned and said, "Can you stop looking at her like a pervert? It's weird."

Cao Wei rolled her eyes and smacked him right on the back of his head. "Who are you calling a pervert? Don't lump me in with you."

"Tsk, so violent. One day, you're going to end up killing me."

He rubbed the back of his head as he walked away from them. The two girls shared a look as they shook their heads.

The couple, Ju Sheng and Cheng Muyi, had gone home after the showcase as Ju Sheng felt light headed. Not only was she bad with crowds, the heat from the afternoon's constant crowds and the sun almost made her faint.

In order to make sure she got home safely, Cheng Muyi went with her. Besides, they were not the types of people who enjoyed a party, so getting a chance to leave early had been an opportune time.

"Hey, looking beautiful." Cao Wei winked as she toasted to Jiang Shen with a glass of cranberry juice.

Jiang Shen smiled and said, "Then I must be a mirror."

"Haha," Cao Wei dryly laughed. "Not funny."

"Then why did you laugh?"

Jiang Shen blinked her eyes innocently as she took a bite of the ladyfingers. Kang Shu then hooked her arms with her.

"There's my model for the night! So, how's my new design? Does it feel comfortable? No signs of wear or tear? Try giving me a twirl."

The design had been made with both style and comfort in mind. Kang Shu's dream was to be a fashion designer, naturally she had to start her dream now.

Her first design made completely by hand was the dress that Jiang Shen wore for the night.

The top was layered with soft cotton underneath the lace and the skirt was layers of synthetic silk she managed to haggle from the flea market in the city.

Because Jiang Shen owed her a favor, she naturally couldn't say no to wearing the dress.

Jiang Shen nodded as she twirled around slowly, the skirt fluttering softly in the wind. Cao Wei clapped her hands.

"This might be your best work yet!"

Jiang Shen nodded. "I agree. The dress is comfortable to wear. Although it's not exactly something I would wear for myself, the design is exquisite."

"Wow, exquisite. What a big word," Cao Wei snickered. She had never like to use big, fancy words and would tease Jiang Shen whenever she did.

Jiang Shen was used to her antics. Meanwhile, Kang Shu was in deep thought as she pondered on whether to gift it to her or not.

"Keep it."

Ultimately, she had no more use for the dress. The amount of clothes and unused fabrics in her room had been too many.

It was better to put the dress to good use and avoid wasting the design.

"Why?"

Kang Shu knew she didn't wear dresses. But neither did she hate or like them. It was a complete lack of interest in such a type of clothe that made her unable to display the full charm of her personality.

Kang Shu grasped her hands and shook her head. "Consider it as a gift from me. When we grow up and I become famous, you'll look back on it and remember that the dress you're wearing is the one and only in the world."

"If you even achieve your dream," Cao Wei quipped from the side, earning a harsh glare from her. Sensing nothing wrong with her words, she said, "What? I didn't say anything wrong. I was just being realistic."

"Oh yeah, well your realistic perspective has ruined the mood. Go ruin someone else's night instead of ours."

Jiang Shen sensed a conflict brewing that she knew she couldn't stop before coughing.

That got their attention as she said, "I have to go find Ling Wenzhen. I'm supposed to be reporting to him."

The two broke from their stare-down and nodded understandably. "We'll be here if you need us."

"I know."

Then, she smoothly slipped out of the place before going to the quiet side of the party where she could sit down and enjoy herself.

After taking a seat on a swing, Jiang Shen clasped her hands and rested her elbows on her knees.

The moon above seemed to be so high up that Jiang Shen marveled at the beautiful and bright moon.

"What if there really was a jade rabbit..." she couldn't help but mutter.

"If there was then i'd better be Chang'e," a familiar melodious voice jokingly said. /'Or my jade rabbit,'/ he thought.

Jiang Shen turned around and saw Yang Mu looking dapper and handsome in a suit. His legs looked longer and he had his hair slicked to the side, not at all like his usual style.

"No, you'd be the big, bad toad and steal from me." Jiang Shen let out a peal of laughter, her body unconsciously relaxing as she let her guard down.

Yang Mu pouted but his eyes had a hint of playfulness. "That's just mean. I'm not bad, i've been very kind." He sat down on the grass next to her, because the swing could only occupy one person.

The oldest long standing tree, specially decorated by the art department with fairy lights, had been left ignored in the corner of the party as the crowd congested into the middle, dancing and singing to the loud music.

Caught in the mood, Jiang Shen pat his head and said, "I know."

Sensing her gentle touch, Yang Mu felt giddy inside and his body also loosened at the sight of her.

He had been trying to find her everywhere to no avail, his mood was tense as he wondered where she had ran off to.

Thankfully, she was here in front of him as he breathed out a sigh of relief.
