In her memory, she would reminisce the time when she put her medals to her mother's neck as if they were gold necklaces with diamond pendant. She saw her glittering eyes full of pride and relief that she was done with her four-year course and already a degree holder.
Her exact calculation of her length of occupation of the rented shanty was over. When she received her pertinent papers, she texted her mother to get some of her unwanted things that she should not bring along with her in the capital city. She left triumphantly without being tracked by Joshua as she was in disguise as a pregnant woman. But when the bus she was riding reached a place very far from where she came from and had its stop over, she decided not to be in disguise anymore. At dawn the next morning, she arrived in the capital city, safe and sound.
With the help of a relative who was already a resident there, she was able to take the Napolcom examination, an examination for cops. While waiting for the result, she became one of the cashiers in the grocery store owned by her cousin who was willing not to inform her father about her whereabouts. As expected, she passed the said examination for police officers.
As the result was released, Joshua learned that she was already a full pledge policewoman. Still, he failed to trace her whereabout as she had several addresses where she was residing. So whenever Joshua's men found the address, no Richclar Samson was residing there. That went on year after year. Richclar was so elusive that no one could tell her real identity as she would have worn various prosthetic masks. Her integrity, commitment, loyalty and responsibility as a cop resulted to her fast promotions. No wonder, after three years she was assigned to be a detective solving difficult missions. As a hard working cop, she enjoyed her work especially that being a detective was her favorite one. She had so many means to be innovative and creative to be in a camouflage that was why even though Joshua had already met her, he was still unable to detect her true identity as she would also change her name. When they met, they even shook their hands when they were introduced. She was affected when their hands touched as they shook hands. It was like a burning sensation that made her pulled back her hand quickly. Regarding Joshua's reaction based on her observation, he seemed not to notice the magical sensation that she felt. It was maybe because she knew him, identify him while he had no idea that she was the person he had been looking for, for quite some time . She was so composed talking with him but deep inside that nerve-wrecking sensation was reminding her of her biggest secret in life.
Back then, upon her arrival here in the capital city, her life even though she was not yet a cop was so busy that even her personal biological monthly cycle was unattended. Until she noticed at dawn when she woke up to pee that there was a lump in her belly. It intrigued her that she kept on touching it. As she did it for about ten minutes she sensed that as if it was moving. She had to see a physician. She decided even only in her thought as she couldn't voice it out.
She went to her former coach's physician niece for consultation. When she was interviewed of her monthly visitor that was the time when she realized that she had already missed it for three months. As the physician was a pediatrician, she advised her to see an obstetrician- gynecologist instead. And she did. With the urine and blood tests, she was confirmed pregnant.
Life must go on. Good I am not yet a cop. She caressed her stomach and said, "Baby, stay healthy. Soon you will be out of this world. I will protect you with all my life." The small lump as big as her fist moved. Her baby was born during the month when the Napolcom test result was released.
"Bro, nice meeting you again," Doctor Joshua (as he was already a Doctor of Philosophy graduate) alerted her to forget her moment of reminiscing about her being a mother of this man's child to her.
"Same here, Doctor de la Cruz. Thanks for being the key note speaker of our new policemen." She replied in a man's voice.
When she arrived home, a very good looking four years old boy hugged and kissed her. "Daddy, I missed you."
"I missed you, too baby darling. Have you eaten your evening meal?"
"Yes, daddy. Can you read a story for me, tonight before you leave?" Joshclar requested fondly.
"With all my heart honey baby. And... Daddy will sleep beside you tonight." She informed him.
"Really, Daddy? Yeppii! We can hug each other in our sleep."
"Watch your favorite movie here with your nanny while I take a bath and eat. I shall read some stories for you afterwards."
This was the life of Richclar being a mother and a police officer. Her fondness of being a single parent and her duty being a rising official cop tied her into a great responsibility that she never had her time in search of her woman she was once dreaming of.
Just like her son's father, she continued her schooling to deserve more and more promotion coupled with difficult missions that she and her men victoriously able to solve. As she was busy fulfilling her dream, she was likewise equally busy taking care of her son with the help of his ever loyal nanny. Wherever she was assigned to lead a headquarter, her son and his nanny were with her. She was always alert in helping her son to the different environment and neighbourhood they had stayed in. At an early age, she trained her son in self-defense and taught her on self-discipline.
Joshua was not growing any younger. Her parents were asking him about his love life. They were even insistent in marrying him off. But he would just smile and shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly. He could not forget the intimate moment he shared with Richclar. If his calculation was correct, if their blood had matched, their child could be four going to five years old. He refused to give up on her, he refused to stop searching for her. His body only reacted with her. Only that... the last time he became a key note speaker he felt something abnormal in his body. He felt that sensuality he had once during his intimacy with Richclar when he shook hand with Captain Cardo Dimagiba. Was he a gay? Why would he felt that sensuality when both of them were men?
That was what he thought. But he was wrong. He was not a gay at all. He was right to say that his body only had reaction with Richclar as they had the positive body chemistry to be one. Only that Richclar was a silly woman, insisting to be some jerk kind of a man when she was not, in reality. Maybe it was only her obsession to prove her worth as a woman that both gender are equal. What men are qualified to do, women are even more than qualified to do so. An example of this was herself. She was a mother of a son who is going to be five years old soon this year but it did not hinder her to be a colonel the soonest possible time. Like her, he was also intelligent, talented, and skillful. In fact, his singing voice was far better than hers that was why she had him enrolled in voice lesson tutorial training center. Besides, he had him trained playing musical instruments like an organ, a guitar and even a drum set. She was also planning to train him as a sharp shooter upon becoming a teenager.
The following years her dream came true. She was promoted to be a general after becoming a colonel when her son was six years old who was a conversationalist like an adult. Richclar was known to be General Cardo Dimagiba to everybody including her son. But in his birth certificate, she is Richclar D. Samson who gave birth to him when she was only twenty years old. Everytime she enrolled her son to any school she would ask the administrator to keep her identity a secret even to her son. She was avoiding to be in hot water if her son would have asked her about his father.
One day, during her off duty, Joshclar made a request. "Daddy, I would like to join the singing contest."
"What if you lost? Would you not cry?" She asked him.
"You taught me " better luck next time. Don't worry, Daddy. I won't cry. "
So the request was granted. And luckily he won until the grand final round. Enrolling him to a voice lesson was never bad at all. He bacame the Champion when the singing contest ended. His son became a celebrity as there were recording studios that offered him a contract aside from a noon time matinee show in one of the leading television channels in the country.
Protecting him was her top priority. The people should not be informed that he was a son of a general. Richclar decided to divulge him the truth. Her real identity was revealed in front of him by changing her man's clothes in a woman's dress paired with a hand bag and a high heeled stiletto while wearing the wig made from her own hair before she graduated in college.
The boy was flabbergasted at first. After a little while, his outburst was heard, "Wow, you've been my mommy? All these years I was wondering who my mommy was and it turned out to be my ever loving and caring daddy?!"
Richclar laughed hilariously and warned her son, "You are not going to look for a daddy anymore since I am your daddy and your mommy at the same time."
"I don't agree. But promise... I am not going to look for him nor ask you about him." Her son assured her of his promise.
As a result, his interview from the reporters who would like to feature him as his recording studio wanted for his publicity, he would tell everybody that he was the son of Richclar D. Samson, a cashier in the Supermarket owned by her cousin. This information caught the attention of Doctor Joshua de la Cruz.
The hunting of his son began. A hired detective started the secret investigation until the result was given to him.
He went to the recording studio. There he was able to glimpse at his face. A DNA test is not needed to prove that he was his son. He was his carbon copy. He had to do something to be near him by tricking his nanny, manager and two bodyguards. He was overjoyed knowing that Richclar was an over protective mother to their child.
