Good morning

The sound of her alarm woke her from her deep slumber, Adelaide rolled out of bed and Ran to her closet to get dressed, then she sat at her vanity and began to straighten her long hair, and applied her make up. Once finished she glided to the kitchen where her sister and brother sat eating their breakfast.

"Good morning Addy, glad to see you're awake on time for once!" Madison said cheerfully as she threw her an orange, which Adelaide caught and began to peel to eat. "Good morning my children!" Their mother called as she hurried into the kitchen, "I hope you all are liking your new school!" "Like it really matters." Charles mumbled under his breath, but their mother clearly heard him and her face dropped. "Charles, I'm sorry. I really am, but this is a great opportunity for my job. Besides, this gives you an opportunity to make new friends and meet more people." Their mother tried to sound motivational, but Charles just grumbled and ate away angrily at his breakfast. The move was hard for him, he had to leave a lot behind at Pine View. He had a wonderful reputation as a star athlete, the pride of the school, a beautiful girlfriend who dumped him the minute she learned of their move, and a large group of friends. So, needless to say he was very bitter.

"Well, I happen to love the new school. Their band is wonderful, and everyone has been warm and welcoming. This is a good thing, Charles." Madison chimed in happily as she cleared her plate "well, we have to go, come on. Bye mom, love you!" Charles said as he kissed his mother on the cheek before heading out the door. "Goodbye, have a great day!" She yelled as she watched each of her children filed out the door, hop in the truck and head to school.

Adelaide walked into the classroom and chose the same seat she sat in yesterday, slightly early. There was only a few other students sitting and visiting amongst each other. One of them, a girl looked over at her and summoned her over to where she sat. "Hello Adelaide! My name is Khloe, it's so nice to meet you! Why don't you sit by us this morning?" Khloe patted an empty seat by her and her friends. "Sure, thank you! It's nice to meet you Khloe. You can just call me Addy." Adelaide politely sat down next to her as the rest of the group introduced themselves Clark, Kendall, and Katelynn. They visited and talked until finally Mr Sutton came in and hushed them all. "Good morning class, let's drive right in.." as he talked and handed each student a sheet of paper, Adelaide scanned the room. There was no sign of Michael. Adelaide was slightly disappointed, but brushed it off and focused her attention back to her assignment.

The class bell sounded and snapped Adelaide out of her focus and she quickly packed her things into her bag to go to her next class. "Hey Addy, Mrs Stanley's classroom is on the way to where we have to go. Walk with us!" Khloe offered as her and the other girls waited at the doorway. "That would be great! Thank you guys." Addy quickly walked to them and they made their way down the hall together. "So Addy, you said you were on the cheerleading squad at your old school. Would you be interested in joining ours here?" Clark asked, "actually, I would love that!" Adelaide felt excited hopeful. "Great! You can meet with us at lunch in the square and we can talk to coach about you trying out! I'm sure she would be more than happy to let you on the squad." Kendall squeaked. "Well this is where I get off! I'll catch up with you all later!" Katelyn left the group and ran to her class, "Mrs Stanley's class is right here. I will meet you girls at lunch!" Adelaide could hardly contain her excitement, she was more than ready to get back onto a team.

Adelaide sat at the desk closest to the teachers desk, and began to unpack her things from her bag. Suddenly the strong smell of cologne washed over her and she turned around. Michael had chosen a seat right next to hers, when Addy made eye contact with him he winked and she blushed. "Where have you been? You missed first period." Adelaide quizzed, "don't worry about it, I was just running late." Michael stated very matter of factly and turned his attention to the front of the room where Mrs Stanley patiently waited to begin class. Adelaide tried to pay attention but she felt the burning of someone staring at her, she looked over and Michael was sitting in his seat watching her. "Why are you staring at me? Pay attention." Adelaide whispered to Michael, "I tried, and I can't help it. You just look so good today." Michael whispered back, "well try harder, you're making me uncomfortable." Michael laughed and continued to stare at her. Finally Adelaide put down her pencil and returned Michaels stare and held it until finally Michael began to chuckle. "Michael, please move seats. There is an empty seat in the back of the class. You appear to be distracting to Ms Adelaide. Do not get her in trouble during her first week here." Mrs Stanley's voice made Adelaide jump and her face turned red with embarrassment. Michael got to from his seat and moved his things to the back. "Now.. as I was saying." Mrs Stanley returned back to her teaching. Adelaide caught a glance at Michael who was grinning ear to ear and still staring at her. Adelaide giggled to herself and put her focus on her teacher.
