The girl

A girl walked down the path. The moon shining between the leaves of the trees above the path, creating a unique pattern of shadows on the ground beneath her feet. The wind blew through the trees and the rustling leaves didn't disturb her. But the footsteps behind her did. She walked faster as the footsteps started matching her pace. Faster and faster she walked until she was in a full sprint heading down the path.

The footsteps didn't sound human. They were too heavy to be human. It sounded like claws scraped across the rocks with every step taken by it. The girl looked behind her, terrified of what she'd seen. There was nothing here. Nothing but shadows. She slowed to a stop. There, in the bushes and trees, eyes. Standing behind a tree watching her were two gold eyes. The most terrifying part was the height the eyes looked down upon her.

She stifled a scream at the terror she felt as she watches the eyes grow bigger in size as they got closer to her. It moved faster to her. She was frozen in fear. She couldn't move, couldn't scream. It was in the moonlight now, and she could fully see it's body. It was made of bones. Just bones. There was no skin. Blood covered the bones in a slick layer of gore. Its organs beat with its heart in its rib cage. It was a skeleton in a human shape, only bigger and more bones in its body to support its mass. The head wasn't humans. Or any animal shape had she knew of. It was a mix of human and wolf. It was terrifying to look at. Its hands weren't hands, they were claws, same with its feet.

The wind blew in the opposite direction blowing her hair out of he face. She smelled it then. It's stench. It smelled like...death. That was the only way to describe the wretched smell it gave off.

It had reached the girl now. It's jaw opened revealing its sharp rows of fangs and its tongue fell out as if it was teasing her. With one clawed hand it grabbed her, sinking its claws into the flesh. The girl finally found her voice and screamed at the top of her lungs. But her screams fell on deaf ears. Nothing cared enough to answer the screams. No one will help her. She is dead.

With one claw from its other hand it cut her skin from her chin to the bottom of her stomach. Blood spilled out of her skin and the creature bathed in the gore like it was water. When the shower of blood finally ended, the creature then started devouring the girl's lifeless body. It's teeth gnawed on skin and bone as it consumed its meal.

The moon shined down the trees and onto the path, lighting up the bloody scene. The moon's light came to rest upon the creature as it walked away from the bloody stain on the rocks of the path. The creature moved back into the safety of the shadows beneath the trees away from the moon's light.
