Chapter: Collector

The coastal area was well secured by the Government. All the fishermen and their family were there living. Government made them buildings in the ascension order and it was like rising from the ocean to the skyline. They all lived together and worked with each other. Their income and business all were fixated with imports and exports online trading, few were like to trade with local markets, they could deliver fresh or dry or in other terms if they knew any. The law was to, firstly to prioritize the local market then to abroad for businesses. It was a good business for fishermen. All kinds of fish related business were handled by them, they even had their own research centre to introduce new products, institutions for new learners and shops. Few months went out but nothing happened to my new aura. I was dammed by the unnecessary curiosity where there was no solution of it. So, I had to take some fresh air from our local beach. I was trying to forget all about it while I was walking then I saw a woman walking on the beach alone on the evening just like me. She was a beautiful young woman wearing ocean green short dress, made of georgette with light blue undergarments. She was singing serenade. White pale skin, few dots in the nose and cheeks could be seen, some kind of allergic reaction or skin disease probably I could not verify it, long close to her knee, thin hair dark hazel hair. I never saw her in this town. Big eyes with darker than black eyes, as if anyone could be hypnotized if they had the desire to see her in. I noticed she was walking slowly and carefully then she turned around to the shore, facing the breeze, feeling the air in her hair. It was an outrageously beautiful capture of beauty on that evening. I stopped my breath for a while, engulfing her calming voice that was travelling to me. She was not crying but only singing a song where two lover lost the souls in the hands of social norms. I was so captivated by her nakedness of truth in her song that depicting the reality how people could be so cruel when it was their own needs to satisfy. Then she walked to the sea and lost in the blues of the water. I tried to find her in the sea on that cold weather but she just went gone. I lost her there.

There was no one that I could notify or anyone who had witnessed her self sacrificial act or suicide, neither I or those fishermen could have known her. They said it must be a mistake of mine so I should forget about her. No footprints were even there to report at the local police station. I was soaking wet when I got back to my home, my ladies were very worried about my behaviour lately and now thus happened. Then I heard an incidental story from my ladies that was happened in our town. We all sat back to enjoy our oolong tea with vegetable sandwiches and butter sugar biscuits. My granny, mother, aunties and me all sharing news in the town where I was completely speechless because I had nothing to share. I was busy to get heatwave from my warm fur jacket and tea. They were gossiping about a couple where the man named Elerk was a rich man and the girl named Elee was a poor girl of town shopkeeper, common story, yes, but it was not ended there. The Elee was a daughter of Elerk's ex lover Elena, from whom he got rejected after making love with Elee's mother Elena. Her mother Elena and Elerk were a couple who could have died for each other when Elerk's father Irk got married with his second wife Sue. She was a beautiful young lady, loved by everyone and a very good girl but after Sue saw his one and only son Elerk, she fall in love with him. Because Elerk's father Irk married to Sue for her beauty but they were not lovers, it went to nothing. Elerk was so depressed about his father's act that it made him forgetful of his lover. Elerk was negligent towards his lover that time made Elena fall for another guy Lanx. Lanx was not that rich in money but he was rich in heart. His richness, generosity and kindness made Elena fall in love with him. Elena was nothing to do but to shamelessly in love with Lanx. When Elerk founded about their love affairs it was too late. Elee was in her womb. Elena was cried over his presence. She waited for him for six months but only refusal came to get engage with her. Elerk accepted his rude behaviour but said nothing about his new mother Sue. Elerk then just glared her beauty that was glowing out for her new lover Lanx. Elena's happiness made him believed that she was truly in love with Lanx. Elerk said nothing to Elena just gave her lots of gifts and accepted her tearful silent rejection. Elena was Elerk's employee. That was how they knew each other and fell in love. The shop that Elena was working at, it was a tea shop, Elerk gave that shop in the name of those new couple. Elee had no intention to know about her parents previous love affairs but when she was having an affair with Elerk then Elee knew. It was no one's fault because Elerk never kept any further enquiries or news of Elena and Lanx. So, Elerk was complete innocent in that way. Elee founded out from her mother while they were talking and sharing their lives. Elee cleverly wanted to know of Elerk's family if Elena knew anything about them. However, Elee's mother started to cry when she asked of the Elerk's family, Elee was hoping that it probably Elerk's family disputed her mother somehow but Elee never imagined Elerk was her mother's ex lover. Elee did not cry or said anything to her mother Elena. Elee just made a passionate love to Elerk one night and after that Elee was no where to found. Elena and Lanx made a lost and recover report in the police station. Whence, the police came to Elerk for asking, they founded out he was suffering with mental distress and taking intensive care.

No one could have known about Elerk and Elee's affairs, it was Elee's mother Elena who requested to police for inquiries on Elerk because in her daughter's last conversation with her, Elee showed her interest on Elerk and his family. I was feeling devastated by the horror that I had seen earlier. Was it her? Am I seen premonition again? When did this happened? I asked my ladies. They informed me it was happened yesterday when Elee's mother reported to police she couldn't find her for few months. Then I added further more in my inquiries, why after few months? Then they said before Elee went out from home after that confession of her mother, Elee said she would be staying in her best friend's house for few months. Elena couldn't ask her daughter the name of her friend because she was feeling bad about confessing her guilt. Then when Lanx started to worry that he couldn't see his daughter and he was missing her presence. Moreover, Lanx took the liberty to ask Elena to gave her friends address. He wanted to see his daughter in person. Elena said with tearful eyes that she had no idea where Elee gone to. Lanx didn't mad for her ignorance but patiently asked to give every address she knew. He went through every friend of Elee but could not find anything of her whereabouts. Thence Lanx and Elena decided to report on their beloved daughter Elee. The police were not have any interest on leaving Elerk. On the other hand, Elerk recovered from his mental suffocation and immediately notified the police. Elerk said, they were maintaining healthy loving relationships with each other. There was no third person involved. He known her from her own merit. Elee came to her for a charity donation for her high school where nothing additional to do for him who wouldn't give such a lovely girl cheap thing like money. It was nothing for Elerk. So, he donated her to make her smile. And from that day he invited her to visit him every now and then. Elerk could not realized when he got feelings for her and from then they started to spend time with each other. Elerk also added that before Elee was vanished in thin air, she came to him once at night and left him while he was sleeping.

After that night, he never saw her again. The police seemed puzzled by all the testimony. It was a small town. It was quite easy for him to finding it out Elee's adherence. The police outspread his fellow colleagues like a mushroom in every corner of the town, asking about her with photo. Then one of the street beggar gave testimony of seeing her that night. He was in the middle of his sleep, it's after the midnight when he saw Elee was walking through the beach singing a song, someone followed her there along the way from her behind but she didn't noticed, that dark clothed man knocked her, tied her hands and legs then threw her to the beach. It was a rainy night so the tide was rising high to catch her body. The beggar didn't saw that man's face but go back in the direction Elee came from. It explained me a lot that of my previous experience. It means I was not a predictor then what was I? Why? I was keep seeing the incidents that I never saw on my early age. Why all of a sudden? Souls were showing me about their true ways of death. Then am I becoming a soul collector or harvestor or both because it seemed that whenever accidental death nearby I was the primer audience. When I was suffering from anxiety and depression then I heard about the news of that police officer who got abducted and raped earlier. He died in the emergency room. Doctors couldn't help him. He lost too much of his milt that could not be recovered on time but other than that he was not harmed physically or internally by anything.
