Chapter 3

Iris looked back at the girl who had her trapped in a hug and chuckled. "Heather, come on let go." she whined causing the other girl to giggle before releasing her. Iris immediately turned around and pinched the girls cheek. The girl yelped before her blue eyes fell on Iris. Her eyes momentarily widened in shock before she asked." Iris, is that really you?"

Iris smiled warmly before nodding. Heather gave out a laugh as she examined her friends new makeover. Iris then told her the same BS story she told her parents. Heather was skeptical but didn't probe any farther as she was content with her best friend being back.

The pair then sat on the back as they caught up on their misadventures and for obvious reasons, Iris left out the part where she got powers, how she almost died and most importantly about how she killed a man. Heather then told Iris about a protest occurring at Lincoln National Park where a multimillion company was planning to raze 3000 Square meters of the forest to make a country club.

The protest ended in their favor as the state refused the company's offer due to some issues with the important documents. However, Heather was sure that the company would pull something again.

As the pair continued talking, Heather suddenly saw Iris's spare clothes and her brows twitched. Her expression darkened as she clutched Iris's shoulders. "Please tell me you have other clothes than those." she asked darkly causing Iris to sweat drop. She gingerly shook her head as she replied. "My sister is planning to take me shopping tomorrow." A smirk came on Heather's face as she said. "Then I will be going with you as well." Iris sighed as she knew she was not going to win.

Just then, Iris's mother Rose came into the room and said. "Breakfast is ready you two. Come while it's hot." She then turned to leave but her eyes fell on Iris clothes. She put up a fake smile and asked. "Honey, you are planning to throw those away right.?"

With an exasperated sigh, Iris cursed in her head. " Oh god damn it"

*Oscorp Expo* (Yeah sorry I don't remember the exact name of the event at Oscorp)

A teenage boy was taking pictures of the test subjects Oscorp had put on display, unaware of a spider who was descending onto him. The spider landed on his shirt before before crawling up to his neck. The boy yelped in pain as the spider sank its fangs onto the boy's neck. The boy swatted off the spider and watched as it crawled away into a crack in the wall. A slight wave of nausea hit him as he made his way back to his group.

*Lumen City Mall, Washington*

4 women entered the mall before heading towards a boutique. Three of them had smiles on their faces while the fourth one had a slight pout and was sulking behind them. This was none other than Iris who's family had made her come for shopping.

After the events of the previous day, Daisy, Rose and Heather decided to go shopping together, while ignoring Iris's protests. In the end, she had no choice but to go with them. She did wonder why they were now obsessing over her attire. They had never done that before.

What followed was a three hour long real life version of dress up barbie where all three women kept dragging Iris into different stores to try on various sizes and types of clothes. Daisy and Heather mostly picked stylish, informal clothes such as summer dresses, skirts, jeans as well as winter attire. Rose on the other hand picked formal clothes, evening dresses and surprisingly, yoga attire.The three women then began debating which ones to buy while Iris sat on a seat trying not to dose off.

By the time she reached home, it was already noon. She had a pile of clothes which would have been enough to cloth an entire family. Her family had already thrown away most of her old clothes so she had enough space in the closet for all of them.

As she finished was arranging her clothes, she checked the time before leaving the house. Her destination was the Lincoln National Park. She wore a t-shirt with a jacket over it and a pair of ripped jeans which she got courtesy of her best friend Heather. She took a bus to the entrance of the park while trying to keep a low profile, which was hard due to eye catching hair and her face. She spent the entire ride feeling the stares of her fellow passengers until she reached her destination. Thankfully, she was the only one getting off at the park. She then made her way to a hiker's trail and walked on it before going off the trail and into the foliage. She spent a few minutes wandering in there until she reached a clearing.

This was one of she and Heather's old hangout spots. They had stumbled onto it by chance when they got lost during a hiking trip. The clearing had several small plants and weeds, making it ideal to test her power as it was well hidden and the plants there were obviously real.

Much like last time, Iris tried to control a plant. She raised her arm and concentrated and then started to feel some kind of energy coming out of her. She felt the said energy flowed through the air before latching onto marigold plant. She then willed it to grow and in front of her eyes, she saw the stems increasing in length, the leaves and flowers expand. New branches and flowers grew on the stems. Iris then tried move it side by side then up and down. She was ecstatic because of her new abilities and wa so excited that she didn't notice a figure staring at her from the trees.

The shadowy figure had a hungry look as it looked at Iris. The moment Iris finished her training, the figure began to clap causing Iris to to jump back in fear. She then surveyed the are trying to find the source of the sound. However, it was all for naught as the figure had already switched places. Her eyes could barely keep up with the person's speed.

The figure then suddenly leapt into the air before landing behind Iris. However, before she could turn around, she was put in choke hold. "Got you" A feminine voice said in a sing song tone.
