Before I start this story, I thought I should mention some things:
1. I'm writing this story for fun and for myself, because writing helps me relax, so while I do appreciate constructive criticism, I won't tolerate rude or snobby people.
2. The story is set in an ancient dynasty, but rather than girls getting married at 15/16, they get engaged and married at 18/19, with 20 already being considered on the brink. Obviously anything older than that is already too old. I know this isn't historically accurate, and I'm sorry for that, but I am not about to write teenagers paired with 20 year old guys. Nope.
3. There will be no use of r*pe in this story. Many stories set in ancient times do this, and I hate how r*pe is used as a mere plot device. There might be characters getting caught in a "compromising position", such as idk, kissing, but nothing that is non-consensual.
4. In reality, my main character isn't really what I would call a white lotus, more of an...ice lotus? She is still scheming and whatnot, but rather than project a weak and frail facade, she presents more of an aloof, lofty, and noble image, as if she's above scheming / etc. And she's not totally two-faced, she was already cold and aloof, but she hides her scheming / ambitions so in a way it's still a mask. So why does the title include the term white lotus? Well....it's more of an eye-catching name, and one that most readers are familiar with. Maybe I'll change the title to Redemption of a Villainess or something, but eh.
5. Another thing about my MC....I'm more than a little worried that people might be turned off because she's essentially the villainess we love to hate in most novels. However, I hope that people can give her a chance - she will actually have realistic reasons for her actions beyond "I want to be the most powerful woman and have the hottest guy~", even if her previous villainous actions aren't justified. [But tbh....she won't be too vicious anyway, she'll be much more realistic in that sense]
6. No super possessive ML shit. Sorry if you like it, but I want to write a healthier romance with actual interactions. My characters won't like each other right away and the ML won't fall in love at first sight. Hopefully I can pull it off lol!
7. If you feel that something doesn't make sense, or there's a plot hole, or the characters are acting out of character, tell me! Politely of course, but I'll gladly take in any suggestions.
Well that's about it I think. Thanks for reading!
