Instead of going to Sheng Corp., Liang hurried over to college. He just hoped to catch a glimpse of his Jinjing. He wanted to grab onto any chance to put forth his side. He was not ready to accept such a fate for his love story.
When Liang met Meili at the college parking he said "Meili! Did you get through to Jinjing? I am coming with you to your class, I want to talk to her." Meili felt sad looking at how desperate her otherwise calm brother was currently. She could only pat his shoulder and support him.
When Meili entered the class, she saw no sign of Jinjing. Meili had this disturbing feeling thinking about her bestie. She did not want to dwell on any negative thoughts right now.
Turning to console her brother she said "bro we should give her some time. Once she has cooled down maybe she comes back to talk? And before you can explain anything to her, you need to get rid of the engagement first." Meili rationally suggested her muddle-headed brother.
Finding sense in what Meili had to say, Liang nodded and left. On his way to the parking lot, Liang bumped into Jiaying.
However pretentious Jiaying was, her feelings for Liang were true. Concerned she said "brother Liang! Where have you been the past few days? Mother is wanting to see you. She is worried about you."
Liang could not be bothered with her concern for him, he had other things on his mind to ask her. "Jiaying! You very well knew what Jinjing meant to me. You were aware of our relationship. How could you do this to me? Why did you agree to the engagement?" he held her shoulders tightly and shook her while questioning her.
"brother Liang…." Stuttering in pain she said "I was just following what the elders had decided for us. When you agreed that day, I thought that Jinjing was just a fling for you. You cannot blame me." Clever Jiaying, passed all the blame on to Liang and steered away from any responsibility.
'I am not going to give up on you so easily. I will make sure you are mine, only mine.' She plotted in her mind.
Looking at the pitiable expression on her face, Liang could only say "she is not a fling, she is everything. You and I don't stand a chance." He dashed out of the college building, into his car and out of sight in a blink.
Jinjing was not a very social person, her friends included only of his sister. He did not know where could he find her. His only hope was Mr. Lee. Thinking of it, he headed home. Showering and changing into his formal attire, determined, he left to confront Mr. Lee once again. He would not let go off Jinjing ever, at least not in this life time.
He zoomed his car and reached the Sheng Corp. Entering his cabin, he immediately called for Mr. Lee. After a few minutes when Mr. Lee came to his office, Liang put the file he was reading down and asked Mr. Lee to take a seat. Experienced enough, Mr. Lee knew where this was heading. Even then, respecting their professional relation, he sat and waited for what his superior had to say.
"uncle Lee…. Please I beg of you, please tell me where Jinjing is. I am going crazy…. Please…" Liang crouched in front of Mr. Lee, with his hands holding on to Mr. Lee's hand, pleading without any reservations.
"Young master Sheng, I don't have a clear idea as to what transpired between Jinjing and you. But whatever it was has hurt my precious daughter." a lump forming in his throat, Papa Lee paused to regain his composure and continued. "I would request you, please don't ask me of her whereabouts, as I cannot break my promise. Moreover, a great president should make a clear distinction between personal and professional affairs."
Papa Lee stood up and asked before leaving "if there is nothing work related for me, I will head back to my work station." And papa Lee left a shattered Liang behind to think for himself.
