Jinjing lay crying for a very long. When she sat up and wiped her face clear of dried tear marks, she realized it was already evening. Contemplating for a while, she decided to take the initiative and call Liang up. According to her, if he was at fault, so was she.

She dialed his number out of memory. She had long deleted it, but just like everything related to him, even remotely, never left her mind. Unexpectedly, she was greeted by the automated message, "the subscriber you called is currently not available."

Creasing her brows, she redialed his number and was greeted by the same message. When prompted for a voicemail, she hesitantly left one. The moment she was done, she heard a car enter the garage. Guessing it was one of her parents, she went into the bathroom and washed her face. Her eyes were swollen and her nose red. She took some ice from the mini fridge in her room and tried to reduce the swelling, or else her parents would get worried. Done, she headed downstairs.

Jinjing greeted her father and helped him with his briefcase. To brighten up her mood, she prepared snacks to go along with the evening tea. Jinjing planned to share a warm cup of tea with her parents and lighten the heavy burden weighing on her heart. She needed a different perspective to handle her problem.

Soon Mama Lee returned as well and the trio enjoyed their tea in the lounge, as the weather was still warm even in the evening.

Jinjing was thinking 'how to bring the topic up?' she kept fidgeting with her tea cup, running her finger on the rim. Mama Lee noticed her restlessness and decided to break the ice.

"Jinjing, hun…. What's…." she was cut off by the ringing of Jinjing's phone. Excusing herself, Jinjing stood up to answer the call, with the tea cup still in the other hand. She saw it was Meili calling on her old number. She swiftly answered it.

But before she could even say 'hello' a frantic sounding Meili started uttering incoherent words.

"Jinjing… jin... my...br… Jinjing" and she just cried hysterically.

Trying to calm her down, Jinjing said "shhh…. Meili sweets, calm down. Tell me clearly what happened? You are scaring me with that crying of your's."

She could hear Meili sniffing and clearing her throat on the other end.

Meili took a deep breath and with her muffled crying voice, she said, "Jinjing…. my bro…" she kept trailing trying to control her tears.

Hearing it was something related to Liang and the way Meili was crying, Jinjing felt cold sweat rolling down her forehead. She felt as if her heart was stuck in her throat.

Unknowingly, she increased the pitch of her voice, "Mei! Calm down, tell me what happened?"

Listening to their daughter speak so loudly, Mama and Papa Lee made their way to where Jinjing was standing. Looking at the grave expression on her face, the two got worried as to what had happened. Mama Lee, supportively, placed her hand on Jinjing's shoulder, providing her with strength.

Once again Jinjing asked, "Mei you are killing me. Please tell what happened to Liang." The next voice she heard, belonged to Buzz.

Sounding low, he said "Jinjing…. Liang met with an accident and is in a critical condition. We are in J.Han Hospital emergency. Come over if possible."

Before he could say any further, Jinjing lost all her sense of hearing and comprehending. The tea cup in her hand fell down and shattered into pieces.
