Chapter 9 The hunt part 1
It's been a day since I woke up, I've had some time to check our new base or should I say nest also I had to get used to sleeping with my new wings. Right now I am getting ready for my mission by testing my new skills.
I got the steel hair ability because it works on my wings I upgraded it three times I also upgraded my senses twice.
Right now I am trying to fly let's just say that it was not going well.
CRASH
Me:"OW that hurt" I was lying face first in the dirt
Hunger:[Hahahahaha this is the funniest thing ever hahaha] he had been laughing at me non-stop
Echo:[Sigh] she was looking around at all the damage that I had caused
[We think it is time for you to stop, it will be time for your test soon]
Hunger:[NOOO KEEP IT UP QUEEN YOU CAN DO IT] he was trying so hard not to laugh I would have punched him if I could
Me:"Fine remind me why I have to do this "test" again"
Echo:[Simple you need to learn how to fight by your self, there may come a time where you must fight alone we will be watching over you just in case but you need to do this]
Me:"I bet other queens did not have to do this" I was a bit nervous
Echo:[Actually that's where your wrong many queens in the past did this so they could become better at fighting so they would have a better chance of surviving]
Me:"And what will you be doing while I'm out there risking my life" I asked well pouting
Echo:[Hunger will be keeping an eye on you, well we are going to start expanding our new nest] even though she is in my mind I could feel her grinning at me
Me:"How is the nest coming along anyway"
Echo:"Oh well hmmm. We have opened up several rooms the skull crawlers are really good at digging apparently. We have started to take down most of the webbing so the other husks can actually get in it should be done by the time your back"
Me:"What thought of creatures should I be looking for"
Echo:[What ever you can find doesn't matter how big or small any DNA can be useful in some ways and if not you can mix them together to make something even better]
Me:"I just hope I don't have to eat anything to bad"
Ever since I evolved the idea of me eating one of those creatures does not bother me as much. Wait... no no I'm becoming like hunger.
Echo:[Hay you ok your face just turned even paler then how it normally is]
Shaking my head to get rid of that horrifying thought I stood up.
Me:"Yeah I'm fine I was just thinking about something, anyway when are we going to get started"
Hunger:[FASTER IS BETTER I WANT TO WATCH THE QUEEN RIP HER ENEM-]
Echo:[Hunger]
Me:"Where losing him"
After one of Hungers very long tangents
Hunger:"-AND THAT IS WHY MY QUEEN IS THE GREATEST"
Me:"how does he go for that long with out stopping"
Echo:[....I have no idea]
Hunger:[Oh come on it didn't take that long] he said proudly
Me"hunger" I took a deep breath
Hunger:"What"
Me:"Hunger my sweet sweet little child... IT IS FUCKING NIGHT NOW YOU WERE TALKING FOR OVER 9 HOURS HOW THE HELL IS THAT NOT LONG" My eyes started twitching
Hunger:[Oh is that a challenge my queen]
Me and Echo:["NO"]
Echo:[Guess you will have to wait till morning now]
Me:"Nope I'll be going now"
Echo:[Wait it's to dangerous at night we have no idea what will come out at night]
Me:"You said it your self this is to help me get better with my abilitys"
I new it was dangerous but she was right i can't rely on them all the time I need to get stronger.
Echo:[but.... sigh fine]
[You have an hour to get ready, Hunger we need to talk]
1 hour later after Echo and Hunger had finished their talk, I still don't understand how they can talk in my mind without me hearing them.
Shaking off my confusion I looked at what was in front of me. I shivered a bit when I saw the once beautiful forrest that now looked like something out of my nightmares, the red webs that had a slight glow to them were not helping.
[Are you sure about this] I heard Echo talking to me
Me:"yeah just wish I had night vision or something"
Hunger:[Where's the fun in that] I ignored that comment
I started walking forward into the forrest as I entered the trees I pulled in my wings so they wouldn't get in my way. For the first time in a while I was completely alone well I could still sense the husks following me but what I ment was that I could no longer hear Echo or Hunger.
I closed my eyes to carm myself down the (peace of mind) ability was use full but sometimes thing slipped through it, I did not want to know how I would be feeling with out it. When I open my eyes again the air around me that was once playful and carm was replaced by determination and focus.
=====20 minutes later=====
I'm so bored.
I've been walking for who knows how long and I haven't found a thing... well let's try and see if I can find anything with my vibration ability.
I stood there for a while sensing my surroundings just as I was about to give up I felt something.
Me:"huh" was all I could say before a dark green blur shot out from my side
I quickly used my new wings to block, as soon as I did I felt something coming at my legs so I jumped up just as another blur shot past them.
As soon as my legs hit the ground I shot backwards getting some distance between me and my attacker. I then removed my wings from the front of my face an shot a stream of webs at whatever creature had tried to attacked me.
I heard a screech come from the darkness, slowly a very large 2 meter tall creature that look like a praying mantis came out of the shadows. It had two massive scythe like hands one of them was stuck to it's side because of my webs.
It tried to get it's hand unstuck but found that it couldn't, so it lowered it's self ready to attack again.
Before it could attack I let out a low powered sound wave that stunned it before I jumped to it's side and slashed off the arm that was not stuck down.
It screamed in pain but before it could retaliate I jumped onto its back and snapped it's neck, it collapsed on to the floor.
=====5 minutes later=====
"The worst part about eating this crap is that it actually tastes good" I was currently trying not to vomit
"Well guess I will call this thing a night stalker"
I picked this because of it's memorys they were mostly it just hunting in the night by using stealth.
Before I left I healed it's body when it became a husk and I then sent it back to the nest.
I continued to walk and ended up running in to four more of them they were pretty easy to kill if you could avoid their first attack.
As I continued to walk through the darkness I started to hear something, it sounded like there was something eating.
I hide behind a tree and took a look what greeted me was a small creature eating one of the two tailed foxes.
It looked like a rabbit it had white fur and larger green eyes but the strange thing about it was the fact it seemed to walk on two legs it looked like a mix between a rabbit and a human.
Before I tried to attack it I placed several webs around to catch it if it tried to run.
Once I was finished I let out a sound wave at it this caused it to grab it's ears in pain.
I ran at it as fast as I could but just as I got to it the rabbit vanished in a flash, I looked a round trying to find it.
Subbenly a large amount of pain shot through my back then another on my leg and arm cuts began to appear all over my body.
Thinking quickly I began to run in to the forrest right into one of my traps I could feel that it was behind me and it was coming fast. I jumped on to the ground just as it went for an attack so it's body flew past and hit the web behind me.
"Oh thank god" I got up and sent what was left of my webs at it to make sure it can't escape
I fell to the ground and waited for my wounds to heal.
As I was waiting I took a bite out of it's leg getting the DNA I also scratched it so the venom will start to kill it.
"Guess I will call you a white blur then"
After giving it a name I finished it off before I started eating it, creatures like this were still horrible to eat but not as bad as eating skull crawlers.
A few minutes passed and I had started to look around again I had killed several small creatures that just looked like normal animals.
I was just about to head back to the nest but just then I started to feel a vibration coming from behind me.
[RUN] It took me a second to realise it was Hunger
Me:"Wait wat"
Hunger:[RUN NOW]
"RRRRROOOOOAAAAARRRR"
