The Value Lies Beyond Logic

Ker who didn't like showing his face to the crowd offered his hand to Yue obviously wanting to go up on the stage with her. A sweet smile bloomed from Yue's face.

"Ya, don't you think the boss is more appropriate to join you on stage" Kiro almost pushed Ker out of the way.

"But you are not a designer" Ker didn't give Kiro enough space to babble and pulled Yue away.

"This year's competition is really tight, every piece is extraordinary, but there can only be one ultimate winner" the host was full of enthusiasm trying to level up the crowd's energy.

"But for this year, we would also take the votes from our guests" the host gave a good pause before he continued, "Everyone, some may have already noticed but a small device was placed underneath your chairs. All you needed to do is type the number of the corresponding designer/company you wanted to win, of whose dress gave you the deepest impression. The options are written on the menu attached to the device and the actual count will be projected on the screen in real time" the host also had a device in his hand and showed it to the guests. He demonstrated how to use it.

This was the first time the Fashion Festival adopted this kind of gimmick but it totally clicked with the crowd. A year of repeated program will eventually get boring and something refreshing as this will definety keep the guests going.

"I can see that everyone's ready. Let's give a one last look at the main models and their designers before we start voting" the host exited the stage.

There were hundreds of entries for this event but the organizers narrowed it down into 20. There's almost a hundred dress that was presented, but for this round in catwalk, only the 20 main models were allowed to walk. Still, different styles and varieties of these dresses are a lot to take into.

Since this moment could be the deciding factor, each models tried their best to flare their outfits.

When it was finally Yue's turn, she minimized her movements, kept her pace steady to avoid creating ripples making her look majestic. No emotions can be seen from her face. She didn't try to flatter the crowd. Yue was not trying to be snob, but this is one way to bring out the temperament of the dress.

In the middle of her walk, Yue's eyes accidentally landed on the corner of the venue and her gaze softened right away. Her sudden change in demeanor was brief that only a few detected it, but for those who did, the impact it brought was tremendous.

As soon as Yue exited the stage, the voting commenced.

The votes for each company keep fluctuating until it gradually steadied out.

Yue and Ker stood undisturbed by the frantic atmosphere. But although it seemed like that on the surface, Yue's heart is pounding pretty hard.

Of course she would be nervous. Although she is confident about their entry, but this unexpected votes from the mass might overturn the result. People are unpredictable bunch. They can't be measured by logic and can be moved with sentimentality. Even the most worthless piece in eyes of one could be the most precious for another. But how much they can get from this, wouldn't that be an evidence of their capabilities. Yue began to anticipate.

"Ohh, it seems that we have a tie for tonight's favorite!" the host was elated.

"Let me ask one of our guests for their opinion"

"Hey there Ms. Alexa, you look stunning as always" the host approached a lady wearing a classic one piece black dress. Her style as compared to the glittering ladies was simple but her elegance couldn't be covered.

"You must have been used to it" Alexa bantered in good nature which made the atmosphere lighter. Obviously, the two were familiar with each other.

"But I will never get tired of it" the host said wittily. "Which company did Ms. Alexa voted for tonight?" the host had gone for the kill.

"It was Fairy Flutter's" Alexa answered directly.

Fairy Flutter is one of the two companies that tied during the vote. It was the company that won in the previous year's Fashion Fest. There's no need to say more about their designs. They deserved the prize, but for this year, they were surprisingly tied up with a company that barely entered the international market, and it was Alcane.

"Could you share us the reason behind it?" the host was kind of expecting that answer and not at the same time.

"Well, I actually like the dress designed by Alcane better, but I based my choice on the main outfit and realized that their main piece is something that I cannot wear. No matter how beautiful it is, no matter how I long for it, I can only look and admire at the model chosen by that dress" Alexa didn't cover her true desire which was actually kind of offensive for the other company, but, no one would dare get angry at the people present in this event. For each and everyone has powers backing them.

"It seems that using me to model this dress backfired" Yue helplessly stared at Ker besides her. What she thought a while ago actually came into fruitition, just because they liked the dress didn't mean they value it more than the others.

"I wasn't wrong when I let you wore the dress. It belongs to you and no one else. There's nothing to regret even if we didn't win" Ker said meaningfully.

Yue actually had long been itching to drag Ker in a corner and interrogate him about the details he knew about the past her. Now, hearing his words further intensified her curiosity, but she still held back herself. She definitely won't let him get away after this.
