Epiphany

"Continue playing and don't mind me" Yyan encourage Yue with what she is doing.

Yue smiled and began to play another tune. This time, it was a bit upbeat, welcoming the arrival of her brother.

Suddenly, in the midst of her performance, she heard an accompaniment.

Yyan took the violin and joined Yue.

At first, Yyan sounded a bit out of tune but eventually, they fell in perfect harmony. It was like they have practiced together a thousand times.

Yue felt regret when they finished playing.

"You hid your talent deeply my dear brother" Yue was smiling but raised her brows as if accusing Yyan.

"It was not my intention. The last time I played was when mom was still alive. I never even thought that I would touch an instrument again in this life" Yyan had a bit of reminisce when he mentioned his mother.

He didn't actually like to attend his music lesson back then, but his mom insisted that he take one. He even remembered her telling him that he needed this skill to woo his future wife. But as a child, he only pouted and didn't take it to heart. Now he was truly grateful for his mother's stubbornness.

As Yyan recalled those memories, his manner changed into something more sincere and heartfelt.

He was not aware that his usual gentleness and warmth that he shows her was suddenly full of depth.

Yue's heart pounded.

It was so sudden that she felt a bit pained and placed her hand on her chest.

They said that epiphany is something that you can only chance upon and not seek.

It could be just another normal day but suddenly there will be an earth shattering realization that you'll just stumble upon.

For Yue, this was the day that she suddenly realize that her brother is a man.

It's easy to forget how Yyan is one of the most sought after bachelor in town when you're being spoiled rotten by your brother and you're basking in such familial love.

But just now, the way Yyan looked at her was like a man in love with his other half.

Yue didn���t even know how she arrived into such conclusion when she didn't even have an experience with love.

But Yue shook her head awake. Just now, Yyan was talking about his mother. Maybe she was mistaken, and misinterpreted the whole thing.

Besides, she was supposed to be his sister, so it's impossible for him to fall in love with her.

Yyan became worried about the set of actions done by Yue.

He approached her and called her attention but she was once again trapped in her own world.

Yue was sitting, so Yyan bended down and held Yue's chin so that she is facing him.

He touched her forehead with his.

"Yue, are you okay?" his deep reverberating voice entered Yue's ears.

Yue didn't know that she could be an airhead. Ever since her transmigration, she was almost always lost in thought and will be ignorant of the things happening around her.

Now, she was shocked to see the enlarged face of Yyan, especially after her realization.

His warm breath is fanning her face making her held back hers.

Her face reddened.

Yue weakly raised her arms and tried to push Yyan away but her hands was caught by Yyan.

"Yyan!" Yue blurted out her brother's name due to embarrassment.

This was the first time that Yue uttered Yyan's name.

Yyan was stunned and Yue used this opportunity to create a distance between the two of them.

"Geez, what are you doing brother!" Yue hid the pounding of her heart by raising her voice.

"I was talking and you're not listening. That was just a little punishment" Yyan was back to normal.

"Don't do it again brother, I almost had a heart attack, hmp!"Yue donned unreasonableness to give herself a leeway.

"Alright, brother has crossed the line. Forgive me okay?" Yyan patted her head.

"Fine" Yue pouted, "But you have to bring me somewhere"

"Tell me" Yyan was ever ready to grant Yue's wishes.

"To the place where the Crown Prince was brought in" when Yyan heard what she wanted to do, he couldn't help but frown.

"What do you need him for?" although Yyan was displeased by what he heard but he didn't show it.

"Well…I saw this item in his collection that is very familiar to me. It kept bugging me. I tried to look it up in the internet but can't see any information regarding it. Oh! Maybe brother knows about it. How could I be so dumb" Yue took the sketch of the pendant. It had been with her for years, the previous her, so even if she only had the glimpse of the one that she saw at the Crown Prince' place, she managed to include every detail of it in her drawing.

Yyan took the drawing and give it a good look.

It was really an ordinary pendant that can be easily overlooked in normal days, but the fact that it was included in the collection of Crown Prince Yin means that it was an extraordinary item.

Unfortunately, Yyan was not familiar with it.

He regrettably shook his head and handed the paper back to Yue.

"The man was known for his unique and meticulous taste when it comes to collecting things. It's normal for you not to find the information of item in the internet since it's probably something that he managed to acquire himself before it could be publicized. He also didn't like showing off his collections. Despite his unreasonable attitude, he is considered as an expert in artifacts" Yue can detect that Yyan was very familiar with the Crown Prince. It seems that their animosity is more personal than of national interest.

"No wonder" Yue realized how futile was her effort.

"It's alright. You can just ask him tomorrow" Yyan pinched her nose.

"But will he cooperate?" Yue was sure that the prince already suffered in the hands of her brother. She knew the man is capricious and therefore, stubborn, that she doubt he would answer her questions just like that.

"You don't have to worry your pretty little head about it. I'll make sure he will cooperate" Yyan sounded so sure that Yue just believed what he said.

"You go and rest now. We'll visit there early in the morning" Yyan continued.

"Then, good night brother" Yue dashed off like a scared cat.

Yyan looked at the back of Yue that is quickly disappearing. Today, he discovered that he might not be a lost case after all.
