Within the valley lies the pristine blue water.
A simple glimpse from the sun and the surface was filled with sparkling crushed diamonds enough to blind one's eyes.
The smell of the trees mixed with the cool breeze that brushes their skin.
As they passed along the road, they left trails of whirling leaves.
Just the scenery alone is enough to make their day.
They stopped by the grassland just beside the lake.
"Come, baby, let's go down!" Yue was about to carry Kil but the latter shook his head and insisted on going down by himself.
It seems that he still took the incident earlier by heart.
Yue glared at Kiro who just scratched his head.
Halfway across the stairs, she saw Yyan waiting and offered his hand to help her down.
With their friends looking, Yue thought it would be rude not to take his hand.
It was not the first time that Yyan took her hand but now she can't help but think how her small one fit in his large one like it was meant to be held by him.
Yue reprimanded herself.
In the eyes of the world, they are brother and sister. Even if both of them are aware that her spirit isn't, but it's not as if they get to explain the situation to every person they would encounter.
Yue pushed her thoughts away. Besides, she didn't think Yyan would have such silly thoughts with her.
Straightening her mind, Yue was able to get back to normal.
The guys set up the place and it was not long before everyone can already go fishing.
Like curious babies, Yue, Kil, and Linn checked out the fishing rods and baits, but they didn't dare touch it.
"Doesn't matter how long you stare at it you won't be able to learn how to use it with that small brain of yours" Kiro said mockingly to Linn.
"Without this small brain, let's see how you'll manage your schedule" Linn wasn't offended and brutally retaliated.
Out of the blue, the two of them fell into their own world, bickering, and bickering.
On the other hand,
"There's no need to be cautious about it. Even if you destroyed it, we can just replace it" these props are just small things, and Yyan didn't mind even if Yue destroyed everything as long as she is happy.
This level of spoiling is beyond human logic.
"But that's still a waste!" Yue rolled her eyes.
Yyan saw this as an extremely cute act and his expression softens by several degrees.
"Silly. Come here, I'll teach you how to use it" Yyan gave a low chuckle.
Yyan placed the fishing rod in her hands. He pointed out the parts and explained their uses one by one.
Yyan demonstrated how to assemble and use it.
Yue tried to imitate how Yyan did it but the line got tangled instead of sinking into the water.
"No need to be impatient" Suddenly, Yue felt the wide chest of the man from her back. His breath is fanning her ear. His arms overlapped with hers holding the fishing rod together.
He was patiently giving out instructions but Yue was deaf to his words. All she could hear was the drumming of her heart.
"Does Yue understand?" Yyan finished giving out instructions and wanted to confirm whether Yue was listening but all he got was silence.
Yue didn't know how long she took to calm her heart when she heard her name being called. She looked back and came face to face with Yyan.
The gap was only a few centimeters.
The heart that had just calmed down once again beat furiously.
Her world practically stopped.
Yyan can see the struggle in Yue's eyes.
This gave him a bit of hope.
Hope that in Yue's heart she could see him as a man.
Yue suddenly detected a plopping noise and snapped out.
Something fell into the water.
Her head immediately turned to search for the source and to her horror, she saw Kil struggling in the water.
Yue was about to act but someone beat her from saving Kil.
Kil was pitiful.
The adults started confronting each other in pairs and his existence was forgotten. Never mind his uncle Ker who had gone missing after helping out with setting the equipment. He probably fell asleep somewhere.
The child went to the edge of the lake and started watching the fishes.
The lake was crystal clear and it's not hard to see the bottom.
All kinds of colorful fishes live there and it was a glorious thing to behold.
For a while, his thoughts were distracted.
Even if Kil is smarter than kids his age, it was natural for him to get curious especially that he was rarely allowed to go out like this.
Suddenly a fish jumped. It was almost transparent underwater but when the ray of sun strikes through its scales, one can detect a burst of colors.
Kil was truly fascinated with such a display that he tried to reach for the fish. Unfortunately, his foot slipped and he fell into the water.
Despite seeing the bottom of the lake, one shouldn't assume that it is shallow.
Kil might have been taught how to swim and managed to keep afloat for several seconds, but his short limbs got tired immediately and started to sink. He didn't even have the time to ask for help.
The incident happened so fast but Kil was also rescued just in time before losing oxygen.
But just to be on the safe side, Kiro decided to bring the child to the hospital.
"There's no need to come with us. It's enough that Yyan saved Kil's life and I am truly grateful. We will not be ruining this vacation for the two of you" Kiro knew that his friend only invited them for the sake of his sister. Since this incident happened it would be a good excuse to leave them alone.
"Kiro is right. Don't worry too much. The three of us is enough to watch Kil, any more would be excessive" Linn also agreed with Kiro. She also thought that the situation doesn't warrant Yue's presence or even her actually. She would like to stay with her friend but she didn't want to intrude on their sibling bond.
"Then, don't forget to send an update regarding his condition okay" Yue was like a mother hen with her endless chatter.
"We will, we will. Don't hold us back now" Kiro can feel the glare coming from his back so he immediately dismissed Yue.
"Then, please take care on the road" Yue reluctantly bid farewell.
Kil was sleeping in Ker's arms so didn't know that he was being brought away from his favorite sister or else he would insist to stay. The scare of the day was enough to keep him unconscious.
Before the four of them left, Ker gave Yyan a meaningful stare.
Though he didn't speak much during the day that doesn't mean he was blind to all the happenings.
He clearly saw the interaction between Yue and Yyan.
But it was not his right to intervene, however, that didn't mean he would not leave him a warning.
Yyan didn't cower and stared at the man in a blatant manner.
This small exchange passed by without anyone else noticing.
Yue watched until she can see them no more and sighed deeply.
There are two reasons why she wanted to go with them to the hospital.
First, she was truly concerned with Kil's condition, and second, she suddenly didn't want to be left alone with Yyan.
"Let's go. It's cold out here" Yyan had long changed into a casual look, just a simple gray turtleneck, and slacks. On his hand was a thick jacket of which he naturally draped on Yue's shoulders. Yue helplessly nodded and started walking to the mobile tiny house.
