1.1 - The Last Survivor

In the past 20 years, the undead plague has rapidly evolved into a state where it is now impossible to stop. It has claimed almost all life on the planet and now... everyone is at its mercy.

In the last safehaven on earth, the undead have just broken through and the people remaining have no hope left to live. The leader of this stronghold is in front of officers relaying the information the squad at the north gate just told her.

"... They have broken through the north gate and it won't take long for them to wipe us out. We ran out of ammo and we have been surrounded by the zombies for 2 weeks. Food supplies are might as well be nonexistent." Taking a deep breath while looking towards the north gate through the window and is about to ask a question when her communicator beeps 3 times. Pausing for a second, she checks it and opens her eyes wide but after a second relaxes and looks at everyone. "... All of the gates... have been breached. Humanity has fallen."

The people in the room are all silent before heaving a heavy sigh. A tall and valiant warrior takes a step forward and put his hand over heart and said "Commander Feng, it has been an honor to be under your command for the past 5 years. Getting to know you guys was the best thing that has ever happend in my life.

At this point, everyone hears a click and see a pistol in his hand as he is bringing it up to his own head. At this point tears were comming out of this man's eyes but he had a smile on his face and his eyes were resolute.

"Even after I die, I will remember... all of you."

*BANG* *THUD*

Everyone was silent. They knew that it was either this or turning into one of those freaks. At this thought, everyone's resolve becomes firm and they each load their guns with ammo. After doing this, they look at each other as they hear the chaos that is going on outside. Then they look at the cold face of their fearless leader, Commander Feng. Tears running down their faces as they recall their memories of being together.

Another man stands out. His name is Long Fei. He was the first person their leader saved during this period of time. He was looking for food for the group he was apart of when some other people spotted him with the food and he was jumped and robbed. While he was thinking that he was gonna die, a woman around 5-7 years older than him jumped out of nowhere and killed the people beating him. Afterwards, he thanked her and asked her to take the food to his group but she stared at me at threw me over her shoulder and said "I didn't save you just to leave you to die. You owe me your life so that mean you can't die till I say you can. Is that clear?"

That ice cold glare he received was too much for his weak body to handle and shivered under her gaze. He nodded rapidly and told her the directions to the his base. And this was how the group in this room met. Ever since, they built themselves into the defenders of the stronghold. Trained by their leader, they became strong... strong enough to walk beside their leader.

"Commander... thank you for being with us through sorrow and joy, for being our mental support when our families died and thank you for being our friend. Thank you for saving on that fateful day. I owed you my life and I have payed my debt to you through my service."

At this point, Commander Feng didn't expect him to remember this event and a crack appeared on her cold face as tears started to run down her face. Everyone was stunned as it was the first time they had seen her like this.

After looking at their stunned faces for awhile, she smiled. As she finally felt at peace. Then she glanced around at everyone and said. "Permission Denied!"

"Huh?"

"What?"

"Why?"

...

"Long Fei! Qi Aouyun! Shi Qing! Mei Xueyan! Xia Mingyue! Mo Tian Fei!"

She called out their names one by one and while they were confused, she continued...

"You all have wonderful names but I have just recalled something. I haven't told you my full name. My full name is Feng Li Ren. I realized that being called commander at this juncture doesn't even matter. Now that I have told everyone my name... Permission Granted!"

While looking at everyone, she lifts her gun up to her head and says "If there is another lifetime, I hope that we can meet and have some drinks together..."

She closes her eyes and memories of the past flash through her mind as she hears the gunshots going off. The most precious memories that even in death she will never forget. Then the memories of her family flash through her mind and tears once again flow down her face.

... *BANG*

Then everything went dark.
