I Hate You

"So, you really don't know?" He asked once again.

I rolled my eyes at him. "Enlighten me then, Mr. Jin."

"Yours is Aston Vanquish. Fancy you can win against the GTR."

"Thank you. I'm just that amazing," I said apathetically.

He raised an eyebrow and the corner of his lips hooked into a smirk.

"Who's the shameless one now?"

"Still you."

Without a second thought, without a pause in between, I answered him immediately. That was how sure I was.

He clicked his tongue and looked at me derisively, "Beginner's luck!"

Now, it was my turn to click my tongue. I scoffed at him. "Don't be such a sore loser."

"I shouldn't have gone easy then."

"Well then, thank you for your generosity. Now, are you satisfied?"

He became speechless at my perfunctory gratitude. Unbeknownst to me at that time, Jin Longwen had indeed gone easy at the race. His intention had been to tease me. However, I would only know of this far later in the future.

After a while, I raised my hand to cover my mouth before yawning.

"Wanna sleep now?" He asked.

I nodded. I knitted my eyebrows and looked at him.

"What about you?"

"I'm gonna rest as well."

I cocked an eyebrow before carefully asking, "Where are you going to sleep?"

"Here."

In that moment, it felt as if a flash of lightning had struck my brain. It went offline instantly from the damage. And the word "here" kept on replaying in my head like a broken stereo.

I might be young and all but I still knew the significant of sleeping together. I didn't get far into thinking what would go on afterwards but even just lying together with a full-grown man somehow felt wrong.

My eyes moved nervously. "Y-You're sleeping here?"

"Like here?" I stressed the second word "here" while pointing down with my index finger as a clarification what I meant by here. He raised an eyebrow questioningly before nodding his head for my confirmation.

I gulped. My expression could remain poker face, but the loud beating of my heart was the tip off. I was nervous.

"Umm..."

I cleared my throat. The air around us was slowly engulfed in awkwardness.

Before long, I saw that familiar cheeky smirk running on his lips. His eyes were laced with a hint of mischief. And that had instantly made my eyes dimmed.

"I hate you," I said for the second time around.

"Pffttt..." he burst out laughing immediately. Yet again, he thanked me, "Yes, thank you."

"I said I hate you," I emphasized it once more but this time, it was imbued with a tinge of irritation. It was faint, but still discernible.

He nodded as he made an okay sign while saying, "Yes, I heard you loud and clear. Thank you."

"It wasn't a compliment."

My face still remained indifferent, but deep down, the irritation within me was growing little by little until it felt ready to explode.

He shook his head in disagreement. "For me, it is."

My eyebrows were pulled together now and the frown was apparent on my face. My lips were twitching, threatening to go down, but somehow I felt indignant so before I could show any other expression, I crawled away from him. I reached for the duvet and pulled it up to cover my whole body as I buried myself beneath it.

It didn't take a second before Jin Longwen had released another round of laughter in the air. Finally, my lips curved down, but he didn't get to see it as the duvet protected me well.

"Hey, c'mon, I'm just joking with you."

I heard his voice from inside the duvet and I didn't miss the shaking of his hand on my shoulder either. However, still, I didn't have the slightest desire to peek my head out.

I had a plan to play him for a while. So, I would stay further to make him panic. That way, he would learn not to mess with me next time. I might not be able to beat him in words, but I sure could beat him in term of perseverance. I would lay quietly now, patiently biding my time.

But that plan of mine which was supposed to be just for a while, in the end, continued for a full hour and I still didn't move.

I was fast asleep.

Plan - failed.
