Chapter 20

"I think that we should start heading downstairs, I think I hear my uncle downstairs talking to the security and others." Peng Zedong told Yao Ling as her sister was now a little more put together once she spent some time in the bathroom redoing her makeup.

But before the two were able to leave the room which now seemed very small, Peng Zedong's uncle actually found his way right outside into the hall before walking into the room due to seeing the door was now open.

"How are you two feeling? I want to personally reassure you both that those men responsible for almost causing an unspeakable level of danger to you two have been apprehended and are being dealt with accordingly." Peng Zedong's uncle told the girls as both of them felt some relief.

"The reason that your father sent me over Peng Zedong, is because I am responsible for updating you both. Yao Ling, I also have several updates that were given to me by your grandfather since he was right around the corner of our main office."

"To start, Yao Ling, your grandfather was unmistakably furious when he heard the news, even once we told him that you haven't even been touched before or during the incident. Still, it took several of our men to calm him down for several minutes before he finally sat down to listen to us."

"Since your father is the leader of the Yao family back in your country, your grandfather was able to immediately represent your side in this conflict. However, our Peng family along with Peng Zedong's fiance, is more than enough to deal with those individuals involved."

"After explaining this clearly to your grandfather, he has decided that this incident will not need to be reported right away, but he still fears for your safety Yao Ling. It is true that we can make this mansion into a giant fortress to protect you if needed, but if you were to head back home now, we could use those same men to help bring justice."

"So that being said, you may stay for dinner, but your grandfather is in the process of making proper preparations for an early departure. Our Peng family was going to personally handle the costs of such a thing, but your grandfather insisted that he got done all of the business that your family had in our Maple City."

"And with that message, I am sure that you both would like to cherish these last moments together for this trip. I am in the understanding that this was supposed to be for at least two weeks, and I am regretful to put you both in this frame of mind. Do not worry Yao Ling, your grandfather assured us that next year around this time, he will bring you back and will stay for possibly more than a month to make up for this."

The two girls hearing this update, looked at each other and noticed right away that they both had tears coming out from their eyes. Peng Zedong's uncle quickly left the room and closed the door behind him. He did not know just how close these two sisters were, but what he did know, is that these cancelled plans would hurt them both.

After spending a long time crying into each other's arms, Peng Zedong and Yao Ling finally calmed down collectively because they understood that if they continued to cry, that it would not be a good ending to this trip.

"Are you going to give your grandfather issues, or are you going to go without arguing with him?" Peng Zedong asked Yao Ling as she started picking up all of the tissues they had used to cry and blow their noses into all of this time.

"Peng Zedong, I promise you that when I successfully take over my Yao family, I will make sure that something like this never happens to you or I ever again. And those thugs better hope that they do not share any last names with those in my family's region, otherwise, the losses will be even more devastating!"

"I do not care that my Yao family only cares about their reputation and keeping our Iron Continent peaceful, there will be a day where I wage war against everyone I see fit!" out of nowhere Yao Ling started to go on a magnificent rant that shocked Peng Zedong.

It was not a surprise now why the Yao family chose not to make Yao Ling officially its heir and new leader once her father were to pass away. Preaching peace and love, the Iron Continent would potentially make a turn for the worse if a war hungry leader like Yao Ling were to take over an entire region!

"I remember when we were smaller, that your father told the both of us how only the strong would be able to survive in a world where although peace reigns supreme, but rulers everywhere coveted more control and influence. You must remember that if you do not follow these teachings, you will not be given even an ounce of power." Peng Zedong reminded her sister as she smiled brightly.
